On a more sreious note, no electricity, no internet. If something bad happens, whoever is left in charge, will control this power.
My advice, become self sufficient, grow your own food, raise your animals for milk and egg's.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am thinking they'd have to destroy the world to destroy the web now. Total loss of electricity worldwide and all batteries, including solar batteries.

i would imagine that there are many different organizations who have backed up and made hard copies of most of the primary content on the internet.....the real danger to any "big brother/new world order" is the ability of people all over the world to instantly communicate and share new ideas and breaking news...... i would think they(nwo) would be the ones who would want to destroy the internet, or gain some kind of authoritative censoring ability to control content...... I have thought about this quite a few times.The WWW is nothing but a network of computers. We can build disaster recovery across continents and in the event one continent sinks, the backup is there in another continent. If something happens to entire earth then the problem is much more severe. I have always wondered if the whole of humanity must burn their propietary information such as "how to make a computer", "how to make a car", "how does a chip work", "how is a pentium chip designed", etc in to a DVD or some other memory device. And save it in an orbiting satellite. A copy may even be send to moon or the southern tip of mercury where the temperature is cool. Or better put it in Voyager and send it outside the solar system in case something happens to the solar system.
This would buy us enough time and may be one day, humans would invent a chip and implant it within a body and have access to whatever information is available on the entire WWW spread across computers.
Anything is possible. We have plenty of time given the probability of some calamatic event happening in the future.
It is also important to know that we are eternal because we share and live. We live because others may live. This is the basic thing in any civilization, at the ground level. Live and let live.

On the other hand I was thinking, that all that is not necessary. Our collective consciousness has a record of everything. Each word that is spoken, each invention that was made is recorded. The earth plane can get that information any time if they are in tune. Humanity will always survive.
That has always been the case and will be.
