Ahhh...ha..haa...ha... Yah, I don't think so! Can you image yourself able to comfortably do this? Then you husband, wife, or child walks in and freaks out thinking your dead or something, LOL!Anyways, cool find Mannu, Thank You! The music at the beginning of the first video could actually comfortably put me to sleep though. It seems very peaceful The second one "Thousands of Suns" is an excellent addition to any massage practitioners library! Thank you again Mannu. ------------------ Sendin' love your way, "your friend in spirit" IP: Logged |

I weird folks out because I do that too. Always have. It seems so natural. My own guru also says sleep as we know it today is not required...and certainly not 8 hours as west people says ....perhaps 2 hours max. Heh Fayte do u remember that popular Jesus movie where the actor playing the role of Jesus does not blink even once in that long movie? Can't remember the name but it was very popular.
Cheers!!!

yourfriendinspirit- good question...i sleep 6 hours...but there are times I have slept just 2 hours and was quite refreshed. I know of another guru who does not sleep at all. i think some one posted about mata amrita here at LL sometime. We cannot compare these people with us ordinary human. our third eye is not opened yet. sorry for throwing terms out there. "superconsciousness", "sleep" , "deep sleep" ...such words require more explanation before ordinary minds can understand. i have a special attraction for the mystical..it can't be explained in few words....
perhaps will write a book someday to explain my thought process . It will surely help. but still better to hear if u hear directly from enlightened ones

I think he doesn't mean that you should sleep with your eyes open. His exact words, after explaining the posture for sleeping, are:'But by closing the eyes, and inner relaxation, I can remain asleep several nights. And by opening the eyes, and recharging the body, I can keep awake several days. Now, I will go, into the state of superconscious bliss by lifting me eyes, higher inner relaxation, and controlling my heartbeat.' What he means is that, sleep in the posture he described with your eyes closed. Then, when you wake up, (and open your eyes), you will be fully recharged and can stay awake for a long time. He describes how he goes into the state of superconscious bliss by lying in the same posture, and controlling his heartbeat etc. IP: Logged |

Yeah I know. I mostly only sleep with my eyes open if I trance too deeply and fall asleep during it. But sometimes I just do it. Worked great when bored in school....until I started to snore! Just lock face and body and go to sleep, and as long as I did not snore I could sleep anywhere without anyone knowing it. ------------------ "Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over and start a rehab for the damned!" ~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~ ~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~ ~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~ ~ if you keep doing what you did, you'll keep getting what you got.~ Everything changes. Yes! To me the quality not the duration of sleep is what counts! quote: Fayte - i will post about another intriguing topic on nothingness...i think u mentioned about advaita's concept of form...it triggered a thought process in me --soon..
Please do! I look forward to it when you have time! quote: noth·ing·ness (nthng-ns) n. 1. The condition or quality of being nothing; nonexistence. 2. Empty space; a void. 3. Lack of consequence; insignificance. 4. Something inconsequential or insignificant.
I love thinking of that! I have had such discussions with others into the wee hours over such. If nothingness is as definition #1 describes then it has characteristics of being and is therefore a something, so it cannot be a nothing but a nothing has a name so it must a something at least in concept which is a something! Same goes for #2. A void occupies space by being and therefore it exists so it is something which is a void.....------------------ "Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over and start a rehab for the damned!" ~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~ ~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~ ~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~ ~ if you keep doing what you did, you'll keep getting what you got.~ Everything changes. Fayte - I think it was Jesus of Nazareth. Robert Powell the actor blinks only once in the whole movie On nothingness perhaps its better to keep quiet hehe...everyone has wisdom within and will learn the truth. My truth can never be others. it can only influence people
so will not comment.
Heh u were a buddhist monk in one of ur past life. Did u hear of the adage ? “That which is void is precisely form; that which is form is precisely void.”
May be u did and thats where u come from by the above arguments...hehehe IP: Logged |

A perceptional paradox and a reality aspect. Nothingness "Is". quote: Heh u were a buddhist monk in one of ur past life. Did u hear of the adage ? “That which is void is precisely form; that which is form is precisely void.”
Yes. But more than one time. And yes to the knowing of the adage. quote: The phrase "form is emptiness; emptiness is form" is perhaps the most celebrated paradox associated with Buddhist philosophy. It is the supreme mantra. The expression originates from the Prajna Paramita Hridaya Sutra, commonly known as the Heart Sutra, which contains the philosophical essence of about six hundred scrolls making up the Maha Prajna Paramita. The Heart Sutra is the shortest text in this collection. It belongs to the oldest Mahayana texts and presumably originated in India around the time of Jesus Christ.
And here I submit Thomas the twin of Yeshua/Issa learned of this too. quote: May be u did and thats where u come from by the above arguments...hehehe

ILWL No scarier than when I go into deep immersion trances. But yeah, depending on if it is a blank stare with eyes in a normal position or rolled back so only the whites show....I guess some would find it scary. I go into REM almost immediately so that may be a factor to as to why I do it. My ability to trance is a factor too or it causes the sudden REM. I have been tested thoroughly for the following but usually I go out fast by my own will not randomly, but was tested because sometimes it does happen at times not of my choosing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rapid_eye_movement http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcolepsy ------------------ "Heaven doesn't want me and Hell is afraid I'll take over and start a rehab for the damned!" ~Judgement Must Be Balanced With Compassion~ ~Do Not Seek Wealth From The Suffering, Or The Dire Needs Of Others~ ~Assumption Is The Bane Of Understanding~ ~ if you keep doing what you did, you'll keep getting what you got.~ Everything changes.
