When you want a sign....do you usually get one? do you think a lack of a sign is a sign? or just thinking too much? Im asking the universe for a sign regarding something, but are there real techniques to doing it right? it feels as though everytime, ive asked in the past about something, i dont really get any "signs"....

Signs are everywhere, especially when you have asked the universe. They may be in the form of a comment from a stranger or people having a conversation. It could be an advert on a billboard or bus etc.Keep your eyes and eyes open it is there

You can also be specific about your sign like asking for something that not common for you eg. a butterfly or a feather.

at this point, id be really happy with a dream. maybe im not meant to get a sign. ive never focused on a sign so strongly before, im determined to get a sign.

I think, like any skill, it's something that we get good at the more we practice it.

Like what Charmaine said, it helps if you are specific. I read a story about a woman who asked for a series of specific signs to know if the man courting her was THE ONE. She got all her signs one by one (a blue rose etc.).

I guess it also helps if you ask for the sign in meditation or prayer, when you are most connected to the Great One-ness. And the most important thing is that you be not too attached to results, ready to accept whatever the outcome, and certain that your heart and the universe know what is best for you.

i think we always get signs. when i'm feeling a lack of faith in the universe, i ask for something distinctive that i can't question. sometimes i ask that it be a visual in the sky. i have asked for specifics like asking for shooting stars but find that doesn't work but if i ask for something distinct in the sky, for instance, then i get something highly unusual in the sky. one night i did this and asked that it be completely unquestionable and there were three things in succession - within 2 seconds all these things happened - a huge flash in the sky - followed by a shooting star and then from the end of the shooting star a plane that i hadn't noticed in the sky flying over me. so it works. sometimes if you're too busy looking for a particular sign in a particular way you can miss one that is being given to you in a different way. it can be anything - something someone says to you, a song, or turning on the tv to hear/see something, a repetitive number sequence, a visual - like a shooting star, a butterfly or bird, or as happened to me a few days ago - our house was surrounded by all these pigeons! really weird - made me think of the movie "the birds". it was pretty funny. but it answered my question for a sign - lol! and also, trust is another big thing that goes with it - trust the sign will come if it's the right thing or confirmation and also trust in your deservedness in having or attaining this thing (because usually when people ask for a sign it is for direction or wish fulfilment and if you think you don't deserve it it makes it hard to believe the sign you asked for in the first place.

as for not receiving a sign - i usually take it that it means it's not going to happen. but that's been my experience so far with that.

try this..it's called the water technique, do it right before you go to bed..
fill one whole glass with water, then hold the glass so that the water level is right below your eye level. then close your eyes and focus on the thing you want to know about or have a question about, or even if it is something you just want guidance about, focus on the subject/issue. then let it out into the universe. then drink half of the water in the glass and place the glass on your bedside. as soon as you wake up in the morning, drink the rest of the water.
you will see within 3 days you will get a very strong clear answer from the universe regarding whatever it was.

So, did the water technique help?

Im catching up quite late but still I think the most important thing is not to get obsessed by the sign-searching. Im sure the question you're thinking about it quite important but you have to breathe and open yourself to the signs and then you'll find them. With me it usually helps when I think something like: "The universe will send me a sign when the time is right"
And then you get it...but opening yourself to the world that surrounds you is the best way because (as it was pointed out before) the signs may not always be the ones you expect.
