this morning i caught my neighbour's cat stalking a red-back salamander. the first i have ever seen in california, he was sluggish in the chilly morning so i scooted him into the brush in the hope he would not get eaten.i used to play with these guys in the brook by my house as a kid, but not only have i never seen one in cali, but the web tells me they are not found west of missouri.
so either it was an escaped "pet" or a fluke sighting. lost? two thousand miles worth of lost??
i looked up salamander as a totem.

i have just been listening to and reading drunvalo melchizedek's messages from the maya, so the synchronicity of this sighting is striking a major chord for me...
