I have noticed many deaths lately (various causes, no covid) of friends dying younger than they should have and as I try and comprehend it all, I the question, why them?

I have always heard "what we receive in this life is what we earned in a past life" as a theory.

However - I am still not sure.

What are all your thoughts on this?

My condolences, it must be very hard to withstand so many deaths of friends, even one is too much. From what I gathered from books and the like, perhaps they had a "shorter" lesson in this life. They came here to learn something and they had, and perhaps they need different body and circumstances for their next lesson. They might as well teach their close ones about loss on the way...

Again, so sorry, but at least you may know they are ok and the big plan for you and them and all of us continues... wishing for you all the best

I've seen too much to accept that we live in a "just world" as most who think God or Karma controls all, rewarding and punishing according to human sensibilities, believe. (It's also dangerous as it can be twisted to remove responsibility for choices in this life, promote apathy and indifference, and in extreme cases to kill as "servants of karma" and assume their victims deserve it or they wouldn't have been a victim, as I believe that one cult in Japan that released a nerve agent in a subway station believed.)

I do believe in blind karma (which is not what most people would define as just, and barely affected by personal merits), however, in which the decisions made before we were even born (connected to us and otherwise) shape our lives, but it's not the entire story, and choices in this life affect things as well, but is also not the entire story. And if our choices define our future, then why wouldn't our choices in this life also be a factor? (The choices of others are another factor.) Otherwise, there's no real point, no free will, and no point in wondering, or learning anything from it all.

Just because your friends didn't die of Covid doesn't mean Covid didn't kill them as all things are connected.

As for recent? Covid takes up a lot of hospital space so that people who could be saved from injuries and illnesses of another sort can't be. The stress has also spiked domestic violence, drug use, and suicide. Suffering businesses have worsened the situation and also added to mortality. Not too long ago someone in a big truck nearly rammed us, and going by the behavior I'd guess the person was on meth (certainly not sober).

I've known a lot of people to get food poisoning lately (I think I've had it myself, but not so bad) which seems to be connected to the market situation right now. Naturally, some people can die from that, or complications resulting from that.

Even the lack of exercise and contact will likely contribute to many deaths now and for years, even decades, to come.

Some would argue that it's better to die young and that it's the rest of us who are made to suffer longer. There have been ancient sayings asserting this as well as more modern ones of someone "being too pure for this world" and "the good die young" (in part because one has to make choices they may not want to in order to get ahead, so as the movies say "a hero who lives long enough will see himself turn into the villain").

Those random thoughts aside...there's no way to truly know, but I don't believe they died because of actions in a past life. At least they didn't die ONLY because of a past life. Karma might provide the hand we're dealt, but doesn't determine how we play that hand. (Then again, enemies from a past life might become enemies in this life, perhaps explaining some "random killings.")

That aside, I have noticed that many around me have died in spurts in a way I cannot determine why. I can't imagine I'm the agent of synchronicity for it, but it does get ridiculous. And the first time was when I was a runaway on the streets so it's to be expected, but the second time a couple of years ago was my dad, grandmother, and cat dying within a year's time (and had I not acted, I think my mother would've died of pneumonia as well). That said, I think my dad had beaten the odds to live as long as he did given his lifestyle, my grandmother was very old and endured multiple serious health problems, and my cat was about 18 which is very old for a cat, so it's not like it was mysterious or spooky, just jarring in that they all happened close together (like the first time when many died one after the another).

It's interesting how celebrities tend to die around the same time as well.

Can be. Really depends. When a Soul's Life Plan is formulated with the help of their Expanded self, a council of Elders, various guides/helpers, and the Co-Creator Consciousness of this larger reality, there are usually a few or so exit points that are probable, with often one or two more probable than most (or "most preferred").

If an accident happens where the above is not adhered to and the death doesn't fit any of the pre planned exit points, often the individual experiences a NDE and comes back. Accidents occasionally happen. Mainly since we have free/spiritual will, and sometimes we either don't use it wisely, or those not using it wisely interferes with our own life path.

This topic is near and dear to my heart. I've been with my core partner for about 20 years. We are very close--best friends as well as lovers. We are twin souls. Perhaps because of this very unusually strong connection, in the last 7 years or so, every once in awhile she has a dream about my early death, with one dream pointing to my mid 40's (I'm relatively new to my 40's now).

In all these dreams, my death happens during post collapse and in one dream during some major earth changes. In a few of them, we have children at this point (we don't now, and don't have any plans to until after the collapse).

I believe these dreams are emotional preparation for her for when the time comes, because if it happens completely out of the blue to her conscious, personality self, she would be devastated though she is a rather strong person.

After like the 3rd or 4th dream, being the curious sort, I pulled out her Tarot cards, made an intention, "I deeply desire to connect to only helpful, loving guidance. I am going to ask and pull one card to answer the question of, is it part of my probable future that my body is likely to die when I'm in my mid 40's?"

After shuffling and focusing on this question, out of the whole deck I pulled the death card.

Personally, I am looking forward to this in most ways. My energies just do not fit in with earth and humans very well. There is a vibrational mismatch that is hard to deal with at times. A kind of a constant, background, existential tension and suffering. This world feels very, very heavy and off to me.

A little while back, I had my own dream about the matter. In the dream, it was post collapse, and what was left of humanity was coming together in communities after some chaos, etc. What was left of the government and their forces, on behest of the plutocrat types, were attacking the positive people of love who were trying to re-create civilization in a truly civil and positive way. But we were being attacked, and so we had to fight back for our very survival.

I saw myself in one of these battles (I'm a pacifist generally, however not completely--I would fight if it is necessary). I saw my body get cut down, almost cut in half. (Didn't see exactly how, but I suspect machine gun fire). But then I stepped out of the body, looked around at the circumstances for a bit, and then shot up into a very intensely bright White Light state/place.

From there I was still observing the material scenes, and while doing so, I had the thought, "you know, I think I'll go back to the physical, fix that body up and stay in there." And so I did. Somehow I reinserted myself back into the physical dimension, and my friends who had seen me cut down, could not believe I was physically alive/present again. I knew that I was different in some fundamental ways after I came back.

Well, whatever the case, and whether I leave permanently or come back in a light form body, I'm fine with it. If it's the latter, well in some ways, I suspect I will still be dead to my partner as my priorities and focuses might shift. I might become completely devoted to service and not be around for her. Whatever the case, she needs to prepare and become ok with me being essentially gone.

I try to stay as close to the exit as to the entrance. I live a full life daily. I do not desire. I have gratitude. I share my richness and my wealth if I own.

Thank you everyone - for all your thoughts and amazing ideals. You have enlightening me to different ways of thinking.

I'm still not sure as to what the answer is or if there is an answer but...

I hope more people will chime in, it is fascinating to hear what others believe.
