I need some input......we have an old Kitty that we adopted 11 years ago. Here is her story... Someone found her and brought her to our vet and said he knew something was in there but could not open it......She was left by a dumpster duct taped shut in a box near a dumpster with 13 kittens, she lived with our vet for 7 years. Then we adopted her 1994. She now 20 year old, she has a urinary tract infection and is on meds. She is not peeing where she is suppose to, so I am cleaning up after her all of the time. It would not be so bad, but we have 6 others (who we have adopted and have stories for another time to tell). I have to take her tomorrow to have an x-ray to see if she has kidney stones if that is contributing to the problem.

My question is how far do we go with this with a 20 year old cat.... We lover her dearly, but we don't want to have the other to be doing this too!

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Love & Light!

I am sure the Vet will give good advice on how the cat is doing. We always seem to know when "it's time". Weigh all the positives and negatives.

I have an update on Onyx - the vet checked her out and her x-rays and bloodwork are all good, especially for a 20 year old cat! She needs to have a dental, I guess her teeth are in pretty bad shape, which is common in older cats. They are keeping her there and they are going to do the dental on her. And hopefully keeping her confined and the dental we can change her "habits". I feel much better today about her and I am hopeful this will help solve the problems. I visit her everyday afterwork to let her know we lover her and miss her and haven't left her! I guess it's not her "time" yet!

Thanks for the support!

I went and visited Onnie last night and brought her some Fancy Feast, her favorite and just gobbled it up and purred! She will have her dental on Monday, so when I see her Monday, she won't be her chipper self, but she will be on the road to recovery.

Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts, I'll update next week.

Well Onnie had her dental on Monday, they pulled 3 teeth. I went to visit her last night and she is just like her old s-elf. We leave for vacation on Friday and we will pick her up on the 10th. She is using her box, so we are hopeful that she retrained.

The vet is amazed that she is in such good shape for a 20 year old cat, she has a beautiful black coat and she is such a love bug!

Update on Onyx... We got home late Sunday and we picked her up Sunday afternoon. She did very well at the vet, she was using her box and eating very well. They spoiled her and they lover her very much. So we let her lose so she could get adjusted again.

SHE IS USING HER BOX! Yeah!! Yippie!!

But best of all she is healthy!

All is going great so far!

awwww Ma, im so glad to hear that while you were off vacationing she's improved. Of course with the help of two very very loving vets!! Her first home at that.

Let us know if anything changes, for the worse and i will have Micahel make those kitty litter boxes we had talked about. Thinking about it, it may not be a bad idea to still do one for her. Being as it would be lower for her arthritis lil legs. Let me know.

Love to my lil "bug" Onyx!

love,
Ang-
