Many non Christians also like CXS (CXS= Cruxshadows), and one of his former musicians was a Wiccan.

They've been one of my favorite bands since I got interested in music at age 11 (back then almost no one knew who they were). Rogue is so awesome and so positive and gives so much to his fans (even when he gets depressing he's somehow comforting about it). He used to be incredibly energetic on stage as well (and he just seemed to pour his heart out passionately as he sang), though he's calming down now with age.

And Christian goths are more common than many who aren't goths realize, and more often than not I've found them good company.

I am really excited about this group. A Christian guy came on my FB page for my website and told me he was just like I was -- a Christian with paranormal gifts, you could say. He was really struggling with being rejected by other Christians. Right then, a lady came on and said I was of the devil
Well, this guy gave me a list of Christian Goth bands that I am excited to try. He told me that he was gonna make me a Goth cross with gemstones and send it to me as he was so glad to meet someone who was out of the traditional box lol

I asked the guy about the philosophy behind the Goth movement. He says they are not afraid to broach hard topics and they are transparent. I think I am a Goth

I've personally considered goth to be more about fashion and music, though these can vary widely (to the point that some goths of one type won't acknowledge goths of another type as genuine).

A very funny but informative book IMO is What is Goth? by Voltaire (a goth himself who does some hilarious songs as well--goths tend to either love him or hate him, and for that matter goths tend to either love or hate CXS). I'd quibble with some of what he says (which, being a typical goth, he'd be good natured about), but I do think it's a good general overview of the goth subculture for anyone interested, and it's both easy to read and had me laughing pretty hard.

I am so excited. This lovely man just wrote about a Near Death experience on my FB page. I asked him if I can put it on here. He also wrote of some of his experiences of seeing spirits. I can't tell you what he has meant to me as I am a very fearful person which I should NOT be as a Bible believer. I should be peaceful and calm

He said I could put whatever he wrote on my FB--on here. I really loved his Near Death Experience. I hope it will speak to someone as it did to me. He also had experiences with spirits and I will put that on, too.

Here's one for Good Friday. When I was entering my early twenties I suffered a massive weight gain. Tried looking into everything. The last thing checked was for sleep apnea. Turns out I had a case for the books, there really wasn't a way I should of lived my blood Oxygen level was so low. Before I ended up with my C-pap machine I was narcoleptic deadly tired. One day during a nap I woke up in heaven. These are the things I was allowed to remember. Some have no context here, others were stripped away as I returned. But here we go.The scenery in heaven was perfect, a cloudless blue sky lit by no sun illuminated everything in stark perfection. There was no darkness or shadow. ( This sucks as I'm goth...) Take everything on earths various landscapes and seamlessly blend them into one another. Desert Mesas blended into tropical rain forests. Archipelagos into beaches into tall Red wood forest. Tall hills and snow covered mountains. Every landscape had these superstructures, enormous white terraced buildings with steps leading down the sides of the high places into the nature below. The White robed cliche was true( again, I'm goth here..) There people there wore their youth like robes, young, but beautified by the age in their eyes. There was no talking, no need to. Everyone you met you knew them, in their entirety. From life and beyond each one. And you loved them as deeply as a life long best friend or beloved spouse.Their was such joy, because every person met was your new best friend, everyone burned with a love that I think would kill us down here. There were angels, but there forms were stricken from my memory as were any dealings with God or Jesus. I know they were interacted with because they kicked me out begging not to leave. I was told more or less it wasn't time yet. But the joy in heaven, the weightlessness of spirit. No burdens, no pain. Just joy, new from moment to moment, And yes there are animals in heaven, I can't recall specifics that memory didn't make it intact. But I got the boot struggling the whole way. I remember falling. I could feel that perfection burning off and the emotion pained state that is our lot hear return. I felt it cloak my soul like leadened chains. I hit my body so hard I flipped off the couch I was sleeping on? Not quite sleeping. I laid there conscious not breathing, eyes dried shut, mouth open and completely dehydrated. Cold as Ice. My heart jerked into beating like I got hit with shock paddles. After a bit I gasped for breath, even my lungs felt dried out and sore. After about what I perceived as an hour I could move. Freezing cold and stiff..It took so long before the pins and needles I felt everywhere to leave. After I re hydrated all I could do was cry, the loss was so deep. And you wonder why I wear black? Johnny Cash had it right. But now my brief sermon. This is what today is about, Good Friday. This is what Hanging Jesus bought me bought you. God, man, prophet, carpenter, homeless, son, brother, wanderer , rebel and sage.. My king. This is what bought me entrance into that place and will again. I didn't earn, I try to be a good person, but never good enough. I fail and sin, I try to get it right but never do. I cuss, I'm depressed and usually self loathing. My health is terrible. He died for us. Every broken one of us. Everyone who cursed his name because of a ****** day. Everyone who doubts Gods existence relegating the perfect order of creation to a fluke, and a paradise to a polluted broken world. Everyone who carves God's image out of others with their tongues. You, me, us. were his chosen family. We are the ones he Loved enough to shun His glory and put on a meat suit, walk the world in a barbarous time of history. Us. You doubt you worth? So do I. Everyday ( Me not you.. I haven't even met you yet..) That is what today is about, and Sunday even more so. Pagan folk, I know we ripped off your holiday, but it wasn't to hawk chocolate bunnies. It was for this reason. We are greatly loved. Eternity is for love. My love to all of you.

Ok Ami wants ghost stories, so here goes. I grew up in a haunted house in the northend of Toledo, Ohio. The house was very old and I often saw a man standing by my bed. As a kid I thought he looked like a beardless Abe Lincoln. Later in life I saw some of my parents old, faded Polaroids. The king with the peel off fronts. That man was my great granddad, whom I never met or saw a previous photo of.I also had re-occurring nightmares. In them a man in a burlap sack mask chased me around a confined room filled with bottles.Later a flood in the basement rotted away a false wall. That room existed down to the T! Talking to the old folks in the neighborhood we found out that in prohibition days our house was a gin mill for the Purple gang. Capone's Detroit wing. We also found out that in a blizzard a drunk who had been turned away because of his debts had frozen to death outside it's doors. His body was kept in the basement side room, because he has no family to claim it. They had put a burlap bag over his head to cover his face. This story set the tone for the rest of my life. It's been weird like this since then.

I have found that alot of death metal bands are actually "Christian" bands, ex, Lamb of God..

Prb is you cant understand the lyrics of the screamers, so one would never know.

Listening to this band now, I love music, and I absolutely love "Goth."

Is this the first time you heard this band Hippi? I am so impressed with the work you do with the dying. You have my extreme respect for that!

This sweet man has written some more on my FB. After I read it, I will put it on. He is introducing me to more Goth bands, too lol

Yes, the first time I heard this band.

Lamb of God is not necessarially a "Christian band" perse, but some of their lyrics get pretty "religious." They are death metal screamers, but the lyrics very intriguing.

Goth and Christian Band is a funny oxymoron to me, but music is such a personal and beautiful expression of soul that one does not have to be, Debbie Boone, for example to sing her praises of her lord and religion.

More from my own angel lol

Near death two. I have a clotting disorder where my blood spontaneously forms clots. Two years ago my body sent a blood clot into my lung as I was getting out of bed. I passed out and ended up opening a six inch gash to the bone on my head. I laid on the floor bleeding out for about a half an hour. When I came to I couldn't even think, just laid there in a pool of blood listening to it pouring into the carpet. I sounded like a tap running into a sink. The first word that came back to me was help. Which I started weakly crying out waking up my girlfriend Kristen. She called the ambulance and got me decent anf cleaned up some. The crew loaded me up, and we got going. There was a blizzard that day... My blood oxygen was 60, and my heart rate was dropping on the way. The drive there was a crawl. But out the window were two golden iridescent spheres of light keep pace with the ambulance. It was a calming light I'd never seen in this word. Somehow gold, white and shimmering rainbow colors all at once. The sense of peace and protection were palatable. Also a strengthening, like they were keeping me stabilized along with the EMT crew.As we pulled into the hospital, they left. I was in the hospital for a month, always being told how lucky I was to be alive. I get by with a little help from my friends...

One of the nice things Christian worship today, is that there are so many different styles and means of expressing worship.

Me, I tend to be a bit more "old school" and "smells and bells" myself. Organs, incense, Latin, BRING IT! ;-) (Even though I'm an ex-Catholic, I have to confess that I LOVE Latin).

However, even if it's not always my thing, I think that there is something to be said for more 'alternative' means of musical worship. If that's how people connect to God, who am I to say that it's somehow "wrong"? Plus, sometimes the things that you don't think will inspire you end up inspiring you the most.

I'll have to check some of these out this week.

Interesting post!
