Driving to the mountains yesterday, and looking around at the beautiful site before me, it stirred something in my soul...and I wondered...when does the 'soul slumber', if at all? Any feelings on this? Kat

I think there are times in ones life when it goes into a slumber mode. Sort of like your computer when you haven't typed on it and it's at rest. Then it makes up for those times during intense growth or personal crisis. This is what my intuition tell me, anyway.IP: Logged |

Welcome, thanks for the thought provoking question.!RE: your answer, you said your soul has never been in COMPLETE slumber... true, cos using the computer analogy, the computer is still plugged in, as we are plugged into the source. It's just that at sometimes evolution must step aside for a moment so as not to fry the computer 'brains'! IP: Logged |

never in complete slumber... yes, i am inclined to agree with thisslumber implies sleeping and i don't believe that the soul ever sleeps... perhaps it rests and, as Gypsee wisely pointed out, makes up for those periods of rest by guiding us into more "in-lightening" circumstances... if we're in tune to begin with - i do believe that our mind connection to our soul can be sleeping, sometimes more often than it should... not brain, but mind - for me there is a difference between the two... it's this connection that facilitates our learning - the soul ever watchful and aware leading the mind ( and body ) to what initially seems hidden... ------------------ “Believe none of what you hear and half of what you see.” B.Franklin IP: Logged |

Yes emitries...and yes, there is a difference between the 'brain' and the 'mind'...my brain sleeps, but not my mind...there are many times when I am fully 'aware' of my body laying there, asleep...I could move it, if I woke up my brain, to move my body...if you catch my drift...but it feels so peaceful, and relaxing...my mind floating, and many times my spirit too...however, if my spirit floats completely away from my body...I am no longer aware of this 'body... Thanks for the great responses! Kat ------------------ 'Anything and Everything is possible with Anything and Everything' IP: Logged |

Something that is so cool about this forum, for me...for my entire life I asked myself similar questions...I wondered if others thought and felt like I did...or would people think I was nuts if I were to ask questions such as these...I can finally ask them, and I am not nuts!! wooohooo lol Until I met my bf in 2009, and started realizing that a couple of my kids 'got it', I had no one to ask these questions...and I am 50 years old! Talk about feeling groovy! lolKat 'Is not nuts, well not THAT nuts' IP: Logged |

Ha This is a great thread! It's an interesting concept of soul slumbering, but sometimes I think the soul becomes confused with the spirit. I believe the holy trinity is the mind/body/spirit connection. So where does the soul fit in? Don't quote me on this stuff as my mind changes all the time, and any thoughts are expressed on an ad hoc basis. That disclaimer aside, what I'm feeling atm is thus: the soul is how we feel as imersed in the world. It is what is affected by misery, generates our auras, picks up other's aura bits, etc. It filters through into our bodies and minds. The body and mind can become sick, but they can also feel great when the soul is used to assist people. The soul could be said to give us energy when the body and mind are tired. The spirit is the unifying factor of who we are with the universe, where the karma links in etc, and the sould how we make decisions on a daily basis. The spirit and soul are almost the same, and I may not have sperated them sufficienty, but I'll ignore my last comment and move on. I don't believe the soul "slumbers" but it does have energy. This energy increases as we evolve personally through karmic events, etc. The energy "stangates" when we do not grow. We feel bored, complacant, tired, pointless, etc. When we experience uplifting moments, our energy increases and we feel lighter and more at one with the world. If we experience moments where we have acted harshly or against "Godliness" we may feel more heavy and maybe alone or ostracized from humanity. That's not to say we shouldn't have these feelings - I think they are a direct result of Karma or Dharma. My point though is that the soul either improves or stays as is, but it could also slow down. It could be considered of as a gauge into what your karma is like in that lifetime, but karma is a lot more complex than that. It's not bound to one lifetime, as a soul could be. I don't think a soul is bound though - perhaps a better word is "suffused" or "applies" as in: the soul is applied to the person for their lifetime. In any case, to say that someones soul is asleep, I think, is an incorrect way of looking at it - similar to saying that a shark is still. Heaps of Love, Dean. ------------------ I realized it for the first time in my life: there is nothing but mystery in the world, how it hides behind the fabric of our poor, browbeat days, shining brightly, and we don't even know it.
