I have just been reading through Linda's Star Signs and worked out the numerology for my name.

My Single Key number is 8, and the Compound Key number is 53, which, being higher than 52, gets added together and reduced back to 8.

When the Compound Key number higher than 52 cannot be added to equal a new Compound Key number it indicates someone who has already paid most of their karmic debt... On the other hand, we know the numbers 4 and 8 carry vibrations which bring "bad luck" in incarnations where heavy karmic debts need to be repaid--and the repetition of either number (e.g the double 8 in my name) increases its influence that much more!

Any thoughts or similar stories? I'm both intrigued and confused. :P

Hi Midsummer-snow, and Welcome!

So, what is your birth date number? Yes, I think it's very powerful realising you have influences from a 4 or 8 though - that can help "balance the karma" by the choices you make as a result. I think one interpretation of not having a compound number for your 8 is that the 8 is more powerful in your personality - not so much in the karmic influences of that number. For example, 17, 26, 35, etc. all have karmic "stories" associated with these numbers - you do not. Therefore, you could argue that an 8 without a compound is more powerful - but there are no extra "flavours" for this power - it's up to you to control. I am interested to know your birth number though as perhaps that karmic flavour could be more intense.

Heaps of Love,
Dean.

Ah, that's a good way of looking at it. Actually that makes a lot more sense from that angle, thank you. Although the 8 is in contrast with my sun sign, it does fit my personality somewhat. I have several planets in Capricorn which probably helps it along there... lol.

My birth numbers are 3 and 12.

Well, see the problem there is your 12 - the sacrificial vicitim. I too am a 12, but I don't have a 4 or 8 to go with it (rather a 30 instead). So your 8 could be compounded by the 12. Perhaps you should consider altering your name to bring more harmony to your life - the 3 is full of harmony, but the 8 can attract energies that may not be "desired". It's not necessarilly bad by itself and can bring a fullfilling life, but the 12 just sucks! The way I get around the negativity implied in the 12 is to surround myself with beautiful people that don't want to take advantage or compete with me. If there's not villain, there aint no victim The other possibilities are to be cognizant of your phone and house address, etc. 8's attract 4's and more 8's, so by minimizing these where possible, you could dilute the overall potency. I also suggest to people (sometimes) that you could consider adding a name, but this is personal and it would be difficult to consider. I wouldn't personally, but some people may already be contemplating the idea or consider options. My link below has a link on the lower left for many names and their values if you are considering adding names or altering spelling, etc. I had an ex girlfriend whose middle name was miss-spelled, but she wouldn't consider changing it even after all the situations in her life - the experiences we live can form our character and may result from choices too - leaving your name the same is also a choice.

Yes, the 12 is an interesting one. I personally can't think of any instances where I've been made to sacrifice my own ideals for the ambition of others. I suppose I have been wronged by "villains" in the past... My history would probably sound pretty catastrophic if I were to gloss over my major life experiences with a casual friend... but they seem irrelevant compared to all the beautiful things and people I'm blessed with in my life. I see the "bad" things as challenges or learning experiences.

The 12 may bring certain influences into my life, but I don't believe I can be made victim of anything unless I consent to giving away my personal power on some level--even subconsciously...

Looking into it, I have a couple of fours and eights in my address and phone number. I suppose I should make an effort to eliminate these, but I don't consider myself an "unlucky" person anyway... Life is pretty awesome, haha.

I'm rambling on a bit here... Thank you for all your insights. It's been very helpful!

No worries, I think it's useful to remember the fours and eights. I agree with you that the sacrifical victim can give energy and not necessarilly have it "stolen", but I get manipulated too easliy, so I have to trust the people I'm with. If I do give away energy, I want it to benefit someone, not just go into a black hole. They should find their own energy from life and not other people.

I just got into the most wonderful relationship of my life and we both have birth number 8 (17 and 26). The connection was instant and the relationship "happened" to us in very very strange and fearful circumstances. but I feel like he is a part of me and he feels the same way. But I have no doubt that we have a karmic debt to pay, and we will pay it, we both know its going to end in pain, and we both are willing to take the pain because we agree it will be worth the time we have together.we both entered our years 8 and 4 respectively this year, so lets see how it serves us.

but number 8 brings pain, no doubt!

Sounds rough--but that creates a strong bond.
