Howdy loves! Azalaksh suggested in another thread that I start my own, so here goes!

I'm a 27 year old single Mom- my son is my human counterpoint, a super Cancer (Asc, Sun, Venus, Eros & Ceres, all in the 1st house) whom I affectionately call Moonie.

He also has a direct Mars/Saturn conjunction in Virgo! Look out, World! His current favorite activities are: being a waterbug, dancing, opening and closing things, and breaking small electronics, like my cell phone and the tv remote, any chance he gets.

I make astrology related jewelry in my spare time, although I haven't talked about it much here for fear of being "that person." A few of my pieces, past a present:

Pink & White female Sagittarius/Archer cameo mounted in antiqued silver plate

Cancer Moon Mother Of Pearl Cabochon Necklace

Tri-Color Brass Scorpio Slave Bracelet w/ Garnet Cabochon Ring

My shop is here ( http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=7163248 ) if anyone is interested. I take requests!

I LOVE music, and play the drums, banjo and the concertina among other things. I'm erratically enthusiastic in general, and so play a number of instruments badly but passionately. I also write poetry, although it's been a while. Two of my poems will be going up on the Furnace Review in a few days, in the Summer 09 edition. I'm not handling my writers block very well, though, so it's all kind of a sore spot for me right now.

I grew up in a smallish blue collar town most famous for it's multiple failed mills and foundries. In high school I was mean, weird, and wore many hoodies. I've lived in several different places since leaving at 18, including Amherst, MA, Boston, MA, Rochester, NY, Buffalo, NY, and Portland, OR. Portland was the most exciting, but I was happiest in Rochester.

Good habits include: loving basically everybody everywhere, picking out good gifts, taking charge amidst chaos, and flossing nightly.

Bad habits include: coddling Lost Boys, giving in to the temptation to remain safe and stagnant, asking people I've just met about their childhoods, and nailbiting (since age 2).

Love you, LindaLand.

I was looking here last night to see if you'd made your own thread yet. And here we are.

Moonie is G-O-R-G-E-O-U-S. I have a look out world son too - 5 planets in Aquarius.

Love the jewellery. That's one of those things I wish I had the ability to do. Not one of mine, so I can appreciate the beauty. Very much into crystals.

PA! I'm so silly, you know, I didn't even realize you all had your own threads that I could haunt! I was spending so much time in Astrology 2.0 that I and my Aries Enthusiasm Blinders totally missed this! I'm sure you'll be seeing my wordy diatribes more often around these parts from now on, heh heh.

FIVE planets in Aquarius!!!! Woo boy- good thing he has a fiery Momma. Do you two have any interesting aspects? I love parent/child synastry, it's always so fascinating.

And Moonie knows he's gorgeous, all too well. 1st house Venus w/ a Libra Moon, a natural charmer. He flirts with every woman he sees- and the less they pay attention to him, the more he puts the charm on! I'm seeing his future all too clearly.

You might be surprised at how easy jewelry making can be- most of my stuff is recycled from old jewelry I pull apart and combine with random findings. You might be shocked to find you have a natural talent you never knew was there! I've never tried it myself, but wire wrapping is supposed to be excellent for showing off crystals. http://www.wittyliving.com/crafts/jewelry/wirewrap_index.html

WHY ARENT I IN BED???

Will reply later. I'm not in bed because I'm in Oz - it's Thursday afternoon - almost 3pm. The time differences between the Knowflakes always get me!

Oh dyslexic me - I just re-read that. Why aren't YOU in bed! ROFL.

I did the same thing when I started at LL - I stayed in the Astro forum and then made my way to LLC and kind of found my place there. I venture out more now, but it's been a slow road.

Funny thing is little Aqua Man and I are like this same person. It's awesome. I love it. Synastry is fascinating, especially with the asteroids - the names in particular - so uncanny!

Oh, I'm sure Mr Moonie with his 1st house Venus is a reaaaaaaaaaaal charmer. I think you've got the future pegged!

Jewellery making is always one of those things I say to myself I'd like to give a try. Not sure I'll get round to it. I do make some things for myself - pull apart some old things and remake them for myself. But it's really rough looking. I don't tie off ends well, etc. It's not a talent, I promise. There's a list of things I want to do - and the more I see my lack of talent at jewellery making, the further down that list it goes.

PA, I just decided to try jewelry out one day and discovered I had a kind of knack for it- as far as picking out materials and things, etc. There are people on etsy who make these huge, gorgeous elaborate pieces they self-solder and all this other crazy stuff. I doubt I'll ever get to THAT point; I like the idea of putting classic, relatively cheap yet well made, non-embarrassing/non-cartoony astrology-related stuff out there for folks who don't have $80 bucks to throw down for a Sagittarius necklace, you know?

Maybe I'll open a shop one day. Any of you talented intuitives want to move down/up/left/right to MA and open a spirituality emporium with me?

Thank you, WOC! I love hearing about the way people were in high school, especially once they get old enough to stop glossing it over or "prettying" it up. I was totally this bizarre black sheep, and not in the "cool" way you always see in movies. I had friends, but not many, and I was always skipping class, writing terrible poetry, etc. I have a picture actually!

Can you FEEL the ANGST?

Hey aerial,

You asked for a man's p.o.v.

As a water sign, I sometimes have difficulty putting my finger on what it is that suits my fancy. For me, its just a feeling. I know what art is to me, and I know what I like, but I would fall all over myself trying to classify and articulate it. I have a few pendants that I wear; simple silver chains, not too thin, supporting a "heart-shaped cross", or a pentagram with the YHVH (the name, Jehovah, and the letters signifying the four hermetic arts; Mysticism, Gnosis, Philosophy, and Magick), or a hematite turtle. And a couple rings, -- again, not too thin. Celtic-braided copper, and simple silver.

quote:
I'm not even sure where to START with Chiron.

You and me both, kiddo.

Wounds that won't heal...
where can you start??

Your moonchild is adorable, btw,
and that's a 1st house, if I've ever seen one.
Mars/Saturn in Virgo isn't kidding either;
careful and unflagging self-refinement.

Lovely work, AC!! I like the silver moon with blister MOP

I've been considering Etsy too -- 30 cents to post an item for 3 or 4 months, and a 3.5% fee on the selling price -- more reasonable that it would be for me to put up my own website at this time (which is what I'll eventually do).....

I just got a WigJig and I'm excited to make some earrings!!

Hi Aerial!

I loved your sag pendant. And your little boy, and your high school Pic!

I make jewelry (did I spell that right?) as well. Do the same thing you do, buy odd peices at yard sales and pull them apart. I have the same problem as PA, my edges are rough, I blame it on the fact that I am left handed, and directions for everything is geared for right handed people. I mean, really, you have to stand on your head if your left handed to understand crochet instructions!

I veered off some two or three years ago into macrame' necklaces and bracelets, since they are fast to do, cheap to make, and people around here love them.
I make a bunch and attach them to my belt and go to street fairs and sell them there.
That way I don't have to pay the booth rental fee, and I don't have to sit in one spot in the blazing sun waiting for a buyer!

Just my two cents for the moment. Nice to meet you!

Thank you for your insight, Valus! I guess step 1 would be to get my hands on some less fine chain, and I can definitely deal (aesthetically, that is) with working in copper. I love brown/red metals, they just feel right. Hopefully I can do the astro-bros some good, ornament-wise! We'll see.

Side note: I've noticed (just in general) that Scorpio seems to be the Sun sign most proud to wear their glyph on their sleeve, so to speak. Has anyone else noticed this?

Are there any colors you all associate with Chiron? Any schemes that come to mind? I was trying (Chiron at work- I typed "crying" first for no discernible reason) to do this last night, and kept imagining wood, bone and dark blue. That would be an interesting piece, especially if I could find an old key that resembled Chiron's glyph. Looks like I'm on a mission again!

Moonie is a little puzzle master! He's obsessed with buttons and already makes the correlation between banging on my keyboard and things happening on my screen. He's somehow managed to change my ringtone a few times. He turns everything into either a puzzle ("hmm, will this spoon end fit through the hole in the middle of this cd? will it fit if I take it out and do it AGAIN??"} or game, and it's always a game that he's in control of. Ever since he was a baby-baby, he'll only play peek a boo with us in reverse, for example- HE hides and then HE surprises! I definitely have my hands full- space camp, here we come!

Azalaksh, thank you so much! Etsy is a really great place, not just because the store is so easy to set up (and it is, really REALLY easy) but because of the community there. There are a lot of people who make a special effort to shop there because everything is hand-made, so it comes with it's own embedded customer base. And SO JEALOUS of your WigJig!! If you ever do open a shop, please let me know- I'd love to see. What kind of jewelry do you usually make?

Hey Gypsee! I love the mental image of you walking around a street fair selling macrame jewelry from your belt! So Sag of you! That's the way it should be, though- those people in the booths always look miserable. I'd love to see your work, too! I have ZERO problems with this thread turning into a LL jewelry showcase.

Yin, thank you! What's your sun/moon sign? I have a bunch of new horsebrasses going up today (two different Libra designs, Aries, Capricorn & Sagittarius) and some new Moon sign necklaces in the works- Gemini Moon (Tiger Eye), Aries Moon (Red Jasper) & Taurus Moon (Aventurine), that will be in antiqued gold plate instead of rhodium silver plate. I'll definitely keep you all updated!

aerialcircus, I don't think you are supposed to advertise your shop on LL. It may be in violation of the site rules but I'm not a moderator. They would know.
Maybe you can just give the site's URL by request. I'm sorry to be a wet blanket but I love your stuff and I don't want to see you banned or something. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

Can't wait to see the new pieces for I expect to add to my newly acquired pendant

Ohh Yin, I hope not! Valus (being the Scorpio he is) discovered the hidden link to it in my profile and posted it in another thread, and then Zala asked to see some pics which is why I started this one. If this is in violation, someone let me know and I'll take it all down. I didn't come to LL to pimp my goods, so it's no biggie if so.

Oh, Yin, that was you!?! I'm just now making the connection, thank you so much! You ordered on a good day, too- I ship Mondays and Fridays. Moonie is also a Libra Moon, little romantics.

Chiron is very earthy.. has been called a "higher moon", and the bridge/key between Saturn and Uranus... A teacher who awakens us from purely personal and social concerns and starts us thinking about eternal themes. Awareness of the ego as wound, perhaps? Chiron is holistic, a maverick, a loner, a healer, and has an element of multidimensionality -- sees things in levels. Chiron is also the only "tame" centaur, and may appear more wild than he in fact is. I dunno if that helps.

I think you're fine,
as far as the site rules are concerned.
Especially on your own thread here.

Oh man, Valus. I have a million and one crass Cardinal comments I'm dying to throw at you right now, but will refrain.

LOVE your Chiron write up- it really does help. I meditate on the planets and wait to see what colors/materials come to me, so the more I know, the more accurate it's likely to be. Is it prominent in your chart? If you don't mind, when the piece is finished I might completely rip your summary off for my shop.

Ohhh, I've gone all weird again. I just haven't felt like communicating (or, let's be honest here, being tangible) at all for the past week. Is anyone else feeling this way? I can't even gather the words together well enough to sound human. I'm just checked out, hook line & sinker.

Sometimes I think that's house Cap Moon deals with loneliness. Hold your head up, keep moving forward, until your insides feel like they're comprised entirely of novocaine. Not painful, persay, a little tingle with your numbness.

Thanks, tUranus Square Neptune!

Aerial;

I was thinking about something you said to
valus, and it has been in my head for two days, I just now got around to the computer....
anyway you said something about sun scorps being proud of their symbol?
Yes!
I've noticed that!
They are proud of having a scorpion for their symbol, I know my son is!
And I am getting one tattoed on my foot soon!
Anyway, so are sags!
We so dig, being half person-half horse and getting to shoot stuff!
And having Jupiter as our planet, were lucky when we shoot stuff, cuz we hit it!
I have been on a womens pool league for years and I kick man butt!
But also, I've noticed Taurus' like being 'The Bull' at least the ones I've come across.
AND I have never met a Leo, (adult) that doesn't say, "I am a leo, the Lion(ess)."
Have you noticed that?
I probably would too!
BUT! haha, I have noticed, many times, Virgo men, hate, I mean hate, to say they are Virgo, because of the whole, Virgin, girl picture thing! It is funny! They go out of their way to explain that they are NOT virgins! Kinda humorous.
I imagine I would feel the same way, if I were a dude!
I don't know many Libra men, only in passing, but they don't seem all that comfy with the scales, not really sure why?
Any way, I just thought it was an interesting subject you brought up, when mentioning your jewelry, and I wanted to throw my two cents in!
