Hey,

Sorry I didn't find this part first to properly introduce myself.
So I'm very new here but I have been reading lots of awesome posts for a while (there was a time where the site didn't take new members, I'm very happy it got opened again )

I can be extremely private and shy but also very open, it's a weird concept, as a result I'm not too comfortable saying too much about myself (where I live, what I do for a living etc...) because I'm more interested in sharing the inside stuff, how I feel... and both at once makes me feel uncomfortable. But I have no shame disclosing emotions and taking others in, I think it's a healthy process, there are few things in that area that shock or disturb me, I also have a tendency to be my own devil's advocate and think disagreements aren't bad, just ways to connect that require work (and usually teach more I love being useful to others.

As far as astrology goes... I was actually partially raised by a Liz Greene trained astrologer, so I knew my sun, moon, venus, and rising before I knew how to use adverbs properly I sadly didn't delve into nearly as much as I now think I should have because this astrologer changed careers when I was still a girl and had a bad habit of disparaging everything that had been done before once into a new thing.
It has always been a part of my life, but somehow it also has stayed at child level.
I only started to look at houses much later in life and had to wait even later to wonder about aspects. I was also very late on synastry because the astrologer who taught me my basics didn't like it, she felt composite was much more interesting and so never did synastry.
I tend to disagree, I think EVERYTHING is interesting

No one around me really is into astrology, most people I interact with don't know the difference between a horoscope and a birth chart and think astrology is some supernatural con about predicting the future.... I guess I'm curious to see how I can be perceived by people who can appreciate these elements and what I can learn about others and myself and also astrology in general.

But enough words (I'm so prone to ranting, it's a problem, sorry ^^) here are my personal planets and houses to give a general flavour:
Virgo sun in the 1st
Capricorn moon in the 5th
Libra mercury in the 2nd
Leo venus in the 12th
Scorpio mars in the 4th (well, end of 3rd)
Leo rising

Have a lovely day and looking forward to the experience
Moonbeth

Addendum: in terms of readings or even general conversations...
I will take everything gracefully and gratefully unless you predict me abuse or decide to read I'll undergo it because I have undergone it or call me a liar or any actually abusive tosh like that, then you can sod off.
Thought it had to be said, I respect astrology and any other form of analysis, as well as the people studying and practising those, but there are limits to what you can say about someone (even with chart, real life and/or intimate knowledge). if not for me, don't insult yourself or your abilities/intelligence by overestimating the depth/realness of what you (think you?) see.

Hi Beth,

As one 2019 Newflake to another, welcome to the forum.

I am not sure how to read/interpret this astrologer had a bad habit of disparaging everything that had been done before once into a new thing. ... So, it would help me if you will please illustrate that statement with a brief example?

Hi Graham,

Thank you very much for your welcome

Sure, an easy example is: discovers new artist calls them genius and becomes a super fan, then moves on, throws the CDs, criticises them abundantly in public on any occasion, denies having ever listened to their music, judges people who do like said artist as culturally inferior or something. Apply similar behaviour to religion, diets....

Hi Moonbeth, and Welcome!!!

So glad to have you..
A number of us here love in-depth conversations. You'll be in close company.

re Lynn Bell!
I attended a few webinar classes with her as the presenter. Marveled at her ability to pick out artwork, photography, that had just the right mood to describe chart aspects in astrology-- even for Society. Talented. Love the way her imagination works. Very deep person. I like mythology, and archetypes.
.. Thanks for sharing that with us!

You'll probably like our Interpersonal Astrology Forum that focuses more on Relationship Astrology-- synastry and composite charts.

Looking forward to exchanging posts around LL with you.

Hey Mirage,

Thank you so much for this lovely welcome

Ooh, I love this, university is when I began to reconnect with astrology, I remember the teacher would describe the Byronic hero's tortured soul and I would write things such as "classic Pisces" in my notes

Astrology is a fabulous analysis tool and what's more interesting to analyse than what we create with our emotions and what triggers them, a.k.a art?

I do love the Interpersonal forum as well as the "teaching" ones.
SO excited to learn so much about astrology, you all, myself <3

See you around.

@ScandinavianCrab in reply to those other posts
Ooh, s/o who had a big (negative in many ways) influence on me as a child has so much in common with my chart, same:
Virgo sun 1st house, Mercury Libra 2nd house, Venus Leo 12th house, Mars in Scorpio (though hers is strictly in the 3rd house while mine is more often read as in the 4th and if it's not it's a problem because I built myself with a 4th house mars lol)
But she's also a Virgo rising and has a cancer moon and it makes ALL the difference.
(by the way, she's probably the first cancer moon to have hurt me which explains my wariness with the placement lol)
I am not denying the technical common points but our souls are very different and everything I love about myself differs from her.
I'm not sure Virgo/Cancer in a same chart (in personal planets) is such a good combo. The sings are natural friends and it probably makes them a bit "evil" together, especially in women.

So, I did look at your natal (thanks for the tip about SR, I indeed don't master that at all), and it's funny because you listed lots of positive aspects between the 2 of us, but looking at the planets and signs strictly it feels almost impossible, I mean Venus and Gemini moon, what would all my earth do with that? I love Gemini but it's exhausting to me and I feel that who I am with that energy never really is myself (I have a complicated relationship to the Leo in me ), it's pleasant and stimulating but, just void of sensitivity somehow, but mostly I'm afraid of what my mars in Scorpio would do to your gentle Libra one. I tend to love Libra energy but it makes me feel so "not enough", unpretty, rude, unrefined... but I'd be curious to see the synastry/composite because you have planets in houses that are empty for me so I imagine you can help me grow

Also, does you Gemini Venus idealises women because it's opposite Neptune in the 3rd house? (going out on a wild limb here, really just asking ^^)
I envy your 9th house sun, it sounds like a marvellous placement!

If it can make you feel better, I'm probably never seeing the Capricorn again, I had to work on his work after a brief meeting, it's just that he made such an impression and his work bore such personal charm it lingered and really hit me but it would require real offensive work from probably the both of us to meet again which is why I was curious about what the stars had to say as it feels it's really up to them at that point ^^ (but for some reason it breaks my heart to think I can't be with him, it's strange, I've certainly never felt that before).
Also, I am insanely hard to rattle romantically, to be really honest the Capricorn is the second man I actually "notice" (the first one I ended up having a weird relationship for about 5 years with and nothing since, even though I'd say I have been healed for a solid decade). Out of that I've had very vague crushes but I'm usually terribly stoic in that area and having serious difficulties making a living (see that other post http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum11/HTML/025523.html ) is effective distraction from the love question.

Also, also, don't wait til you have your act together to be with someone. Just don't wait A million things about myself I'm working on at the time but if that Capricorn was around I wouldn't put him on pause, I'd roll up my sleeves and work two shifts at once lol.

Thank you for the response Moonbeth, and for the great taste of posting in it your introduction-thread!

There is something enchanting for me in the way that you describe your self, your life, experiences and how you look at them.

I read into it an ability to to look at things objectively even though if they might carry their fair bit of emotional luggage, but yet lets you look at you self as well as people surrounding you in a "sober" way. And you seem to not struggle with putting it down in text at all.

I can now briefly look at relationships with women in my life, from my mother and onward's, and see how they more or less lack that ability.

That ability is also something that is severely lacking with the woman who was to become the mother of my son and whom i will have to deal with for a long time to come.

Since were talking in a astrology forum i might as well add the fact that transiting Saturn currently opposes my sun.

So at this time in space i am currently in the position from where i am trying to heal the emotional scars of a relationship with a woman who i, before i met her, couldnt even imagine existed. The fear of how the outcome of that relationship will affect my son. A situation, possibly affected by transits, where nothing comes easy, but everything seems tied to hard work. (i actually don't know when ever you didnt have to work hard for good things, no, but this is ridiculous. There's absolutely no "free meals" at these times.)

I did write that i idealize women, people and things. I do want to make it clear that i do not idealize all women and people.

It's more like if i you would display some traits that i find attractive my imagination would easily fill in the blanks with all the lovely things possible.
Show me the wonderful little finger and my imagination paints a lovely hand and body to match that finger

As you say. I also believe my Gemini placements have very little to offer you in a romantic setting.

You know my Gemini Venus can be as detached so it actually make me wish you would find your way with any man you feel for, Capricorn or not. (But it couldn't accomplish that in a committed relationship lol )

I had a stable relationship with a Aries woman for 10 years. (And no, i have never in my life cheated, Gemini Venus and all :P ) She is Capricorn rising, our moons are conjunct in Gemini, she has Venus in Pisces and a Scorpio Mars!

Hey Crab

Are you saying you're surprised a Virgo respects the rules and orderly organises her posts?

That's very sweet of you to be enchanted, I don't know if you've got a chance at reading the rest of that other post but it's apparently not so enchanting those things I am... I guess enchantment too lies in the eyes of the beholder.

Well, I am balance obsessed and I remind myself constantly that there is no objectivity, it becomes easier then to keep on looking for it and achieving a decent rate I imagine. I probably came out of the womb talking so words never were an issue lol I don't know, I'm misread a lot, it creates a reactive over precision thing I suppose...
I don't see it as ability though. I know myself, I maintain a connection with my actions and thoughts, I work on myself a lot, I am my main achievement, I guess it's not difficult to speak of something when you're the authority on the subject.
The women in your life are most likely endowed with many other bounties and accomplishments.

Is it a bad one? I think Saturn transits really are about "what you done lately?" and if you've been up too much, Saturn quietly passes by

I imagine people with a good Jupiter feel there are free lunches everywhere lol I don't.

As for your son, he'll be happy if the adults around him are. Make it healthy, sound, sensible. There's no reason it will affect him more than it should, in doubt pay attention to him, that never hurts.

Your idealisation process is the definition of what frightens me in relationships lol I hate disappointing people and it's even worse when they disappoint themselves through me. I want to be seen for what I am, not more, not less. If I have a wonderful little finger, I hope to be loved for that without having to live up to the pressure of everything else matching. That's just not fair.

I'm literally too grounded for Gemini's lightness, I'm heavy lol.
Gemini Venus is mostly too playful for me I think.
But well, apparently the Capricorn is a sociopath and I'm an abuse addict so... wishing me the convent would seem more in order ^^

First, don't edit your comments to me unless it is to correct typos ok?
Second, you're not auditioning for a lover's spot in my life just because you had a crush on my natal so relax, you don't have to prove your qualities or accomplishments to me in matters of relationships
Finally, I found your threesome story funny and just because it's light-years ahead of anything I'd seek to live doesn't mean I judge it. Again, I'm not sensing you for mating purposes: chill!

What your ex did sounds like typical betrayed Scorpio mars, the sort of things I'd imagine but would never do, I'm more of a lick my wounds and move on kind of person rather than grant more energy to people who wronged me. My energy and what I give it to matters to me

It's just clearer that way and then it's also less work for you if you don't have to tidy up behind everyone lol
I am such a Virgo when it comes to organisation though... one label-maker away from Monica Geller

You really are a lot of earth! haha

Do you have that thing too about inner/outer order? That if your mind feels cluttered, tyding up the flat helps?
And that things don't have to be perfectly tidy (though it's quite nice when it amounts to that), it just has to make sense?
