Yes i know Neptune is one of those generational planets..so let's use tight orbs then :P

Have any of you experienced a "positive" aspect between Venus and Neptune in synastry? Particularly the sextile or trine?

I read briefly that the people would consider each other their ideal love or the romantic part of the relationship as the ideal experience. Specifically it would be the Neptune person seeing the Venus person as ideal..or at least a very romanticized version of the person. Neptune is captivated by Venus.

Does your experience confirm this?

just found this. all i can say is: YUP.

I'd like to address the Venus-Neptune conjunction in synastry. My boss's Neptune conjuncts my Venus, and it's amazing how he can read the subtle shifts of emotions in me. He is extremely sympathetic to my needs; this is so affecting it can make me cry. We also pick up on indirect, subtle humor... something will strike us both as funny at the same time, even though the humor isn't obvious. It's a lovely rapport, and it makes for a very pleasant work environment. Of course, it doesn't happen all the time, but it certainly helps when we argue.

My experience has been that it is the venus person who idealizes the neptune person. My ex had his venus in aspect with my neptune. He idealized me, I certainly didnt idealize him. My venus in aspect with one particular guy's neptune (neptune was also his chart ruler) and again it was me as the venus person who idealized him with the neptune. Cant say that he idealizes me in a neptunian way, he respects me greatly yes, but that's more linked to our saturn aspects.

I read your description backwards. I agree with Annaf. Also in our case, I feel we both idealized each other. We also have a moon conjunct Pluto double whammy in Libra. Her Venus is conjunct Neptune in her natal. We also both have moon sextile Neptune natal AND in synastry double whammy. Her Juno exactly conjuncts my Venus as well. And her NN is smack dab right on my Asc. Our harshest aspsect is that Sun square Saturn double whammy. But natally, both our suns exatly sextile our saturns.

I think we both idealized each other. I can defintely say we spoke with our eyes and "felt" each other without touching. I believe she is my soulmate.

I found this very interesting...here is an exerpt (sp?) of a book that has VERY good descriptions of Neptune in synastry. The descriptions of Neptune-Moon and Neptune-Venus fit to a T in my relationship that has both aspects.

Here's a link http://www.scribd.com/doc/8219806/Neptune-in-Synastry-and-the-Composite-Chart

I would like to know the difference between the square and the opposition between venus and neptune in synastry. All the descriptions I've read clump the square and opposition together but there must be a difference.

I think Venus opposite Neptune gives a tension that can be worked with because it means that its a see-saw effect where one planet is more dominant than the other (they can't both be so it shifts constantly) But the square? Squares are tough, they are much more fixed and will make the tension between the two planets unrelenting and unavoidable.

I'd watch out for neptune squares, especially in Synastry because they will be the ones where one person is completely destroyed after a break up (Venus) and the other (Neptune) will be like "wait, you mean you thought we were together? I was just having fun"...But i've not experienced either so I could be dead wrong.

I have ( and almost always had ) that Venus square Neptune aspect in synastry. I dont know, but it doesn't bother me so much (maybe because I'm very often the Neptune person ), It's true though that the Venus person has some expactations, or that he is idealising me and I'd really love to fulfill them: to really be that wonderful, out of a fairy tale person he thinks he sees in me. I'd really love that but of course I'm not :-D So there could be some disappointment but if both partners are mature enough to accept the other as he/ she is, then I don't think that there will be a problem.

I also think that every aspect between Venus and Neptune, even the hard ones cause at least some kind of attraction.

It's positive in the sense that this person becomes the epitome of beauty to you. They can do no wrong; you are blessed to be with them. "I can't believe s/he picked me."-- that whole ordeal.

So yes, you truly can see no fault, nor imagine anything negative or derrogatory coming from your lover. However, that is the EXACT reason why this is considered a tricky aspect. Because, by you thinking so highly of your partner, you're inadvertantly putting pressure on them. They feel like they're up so high on this pedastal that you've placed them on that IF they fail... they'll lose you. They'll fail YOU, and your relationship.

It's sticky.

I've experienced this from both ends. Both parties idealize. But (in my cases) it was always the VENUS person who ended up being hurt the most. Who ended up feeling betrayed and stupid and foolish. But then again, i experienced the trine (me being Venus) & the square (me being Neptune).

It gets interesting if you aren't of the same generation. Venus will not have been raised around a group of people with whom s/he shares the Neptunian interaction.

Also, how does it tie into the chart(s)?

Example, a friend of mine has Venus to my Neptune. It ties into natal T-Squares on each of our charts and together makes a Cradle configuration. It's quite fitting, we do laugh about in quite a childish way. Meanwhile, my husband has Neptune, ruler of his 7th house sitting on my Ascendant. It is Opposite my Venus, ruler of my 7th house. Together they are part of a Grand Cross configuration. There is an age gap in both relationships.

What would the main differences be between a Venus/Neptune trine in synastry and a Venus/Mars trine? I'm the Mars and my boyfriend is the Venus. The orbs are quite wide but regardless, I can certainly feel the Venus/Neptune energy. I'm not so sure how to define the Mars energy though. It feels idealistic coming from both sides however.

Anyone here ever had a pleasant Mars/Neptune connection? How did you experience it?

I have the square natally, venus in 5th, neptune in 8th, so I share it in syn astry wit anyone in my age group. It's brought me nothing but heartache, one lindalander on this board described it as a crap magnet, could'nt agree more. To make matters worse venus is the strongest planet in my chart.

I think if Neptune or Venus is afflicted in the natal, then the person may feel the negative effects of Neptune more. However, if Neptune is aspected harmoniously, then the person may feel the more positive benefic effects of Neptune such as it being a higher octave of Venus.

I have Neptune sextile Moon and Pluto in natal and I can tell you I haven't experienced the negative side of Neptune in my synastry with the conjunction or sextile to her Venus. In my synastry with the Scorpio, my Neptune sits on her Venus/Neptune midpoint (which are conjunct by 3 degrees in her chart). And our Venus-Neptune conjunction is sextile our Moon-Pluto double whammny conjunction in Libra. For me I see my love for her as pure. I don't expect anything of her and Im not blinded by her flaws. I accept her as she is flaws and all.

The love I have for her is very ethereal and spritual. Almost out of this world.

this is how i characterize our dynamic as well. it's like an ideal that contains all the flaws and reality within it, and still remains ideal
