In synastry -- Do you think same-planet aspects where one of the planets is exalted/dignified - while the other is detriment/in its fall, are more difficult? Examples:
Opps -
Moon in Taurus (exalt.) - Moon in Scorpio (fall)
Moon in Cancer (dig.) - Moon in Capricorn (detri.)
Trines -
Moon in Cancer (dig.) - Moon in Scorpio (fall)
Moon in Taurus (exalt.) - Moon in Capricorn (detri.)
Opps.
Mercury in Gemini - Mercury in Sagittarius
Mercury in Virgo - Mercury in Pisces
Squares.
Mercury in Gemini - Mercury in Pisces
Mercury in Virgo - Mercury in Sagittarius
and others.....
Venus in Libra - Venus in Aries
Venus in Taurus - Venus in Scorpio
Mars in Aries - Mars in Libra
Mars in Scorpio - Mars in Taurus
Mars in Capricorn - Mars in Cancer
etc.. etc..
In typical interpretations, some of these are not seen as very negative. For instance Mercury2Mercury oppositions are thought of as slightly irritating but not all that significant.
However - when the planets are in dignity & detriment.. it seems the relationship is more difficult.
The dignified planet person tries to overtake and becomes overbearing, while the detriment planet individual - becomes evasive and heads for the nearest exit.
It's difficult to strike a balance or reach a compromise.. because the dignified planet person seems to have an ego about that particular area of their lives. It is something they believe they are inherently good at (e.g. If it is Mercury - this could be - debating/talking/writing) and they are adverse to any compromises or changes.
If the aspect is a trine.. such as Taurus Mars trine Capricorn Mars, OR, Cancer Mars trine Scorpio Mars... it is 'easier' - but there are still undercurrents of arrogance & confrontational behaviour -coming from the Cap/Scorpio Mars person... while the Taurus/Cancer Mars person does not want to engage - but rather stirs clear of the conflict.
