I had read mercury square Uranus may have some effect with this.

Has anyone else heard this?

You mean the top 2% that qualify for Mensa or the REALLY high intelligences within Mensa? At least over 160 or whatever, compared to "just" the 136-140 or whatever might qualify you into Mensa depending on the intelligence test scores used?

I'm not officially tested but online tests consistently show I'm at least entrance level to Mensa. Even if you scale it down in realism, does it matter if someone is "only" more intelligent than 97% of the population than 98%?

3H Mercury 16.53 Virgo

ASC 6.53 Leo
2H Leo Sun
Sun ~2 opp Moon in 8H Pis
Venus 6.58 Virgo 3H cusp
Mars 4.21 Gem 11H
Uranus 29 Libra 4H

T-square
Jupiter square Saturn square Uranus, 3 + 2 degree orbs
"Mystic Rectangle" with Sun, Uranus, Moon and Jupiter

6H cusp at 5.33 Cap, nothing in there, should you want the 6th via the Virgo route

ASC is novile Mercury. I seem to recall I had a fair few other noviles (and quintiles or septiles, I forget) in my chart otherwise as well. Mercury is also quindecile (~165) Moon one way and MC the other. ~1 degree orbs.

I'm listing more than the Mercury or Uranus in case someone figures something else is relevant (other than my naturally superfantastic greatness at everything due to being a double Leo ).

On noviles:
http://johnsandbach.com/?p=193
http://aliceportman.com/noviles/
http://www.astrologyweekly.com/astrological-aspects/novile-9th-harmonic.php
http://www.universalsky.com/Articles/Astrology/Aspects/Minor/novile.htm

To make it really complicated, a quindecile degree for my Uranus would be 14.15 Aries. The solstice point of my Mercury is 13 Aries. This is the kind of complex hoohaa thinking you get with that kind of things.

I probably can self learn anything under the sun without much effort. Never had concentration issues or having to burn the midnight oil to study. I have merc sq Uranus among other merc aspects. Found out recently that my natal merc has term dignity in leo. I'm no genius though.

Well Einstein himself had Merc in h10 flanked by Part of Fortune and Saturn..inconjunct Uranus. And Moon on the Great Attractor ..

He also, like most "geniuses" attributed his creativity to the meditative/intuitive level of mind

My chart ruler is mercury and it's domicile but..

Mercury square Jupiter...
it definitely makes me mentally lazy.
Most people I know who have this placement are burnouts...
I've tried to take iq tests but I end up doodling... or losing interest completely.

I have mercury conjunct venus in gemini- I see geometry in mind, I exceed in visual arts.

Moon conjunct mercury exact- Logic is clouded by feels and emotions.
I think it gives abstract creative thinking, right brained dominant.

Anyways thank god for mercury trine saturn, When it comes to my future I can concentrate and make sound decisions.

Artistic genius, maybe

Sure, it is interesting to know about the "normal" high IQ of those who graduate from the University too. But I am more interested in the aspect of the really above normal high intelligence. Like the top percent.

Sun in good aspect to moon, number one indicator of an intelligent person who has it together. The soul is able to use the gifts of the mind with ease.

Haha same for me, though I got the mercury square saturn and also mercury square neptune:P

I think I'm really REALLY mentally lazy when it comes to anything that has to do with maths… I just totally block out, I hate maths - not logic - just math!

So, no Einstein here either, or genius, but I think you can be highly intelligent in other areas anyways! (people who suck at maths gotta say stuff like this)

IMO I.Q tests are stupid. According to the I.Q test I took im low average I.Q , which is bs. You have to have a great short term memory to do good on I.Q tests ,which Is something I don't have.

Your best bet would be to review the natal charts of people with high iqs. In astrology genius and/or intelligence isn't cut and dry. Intelligence is a debatable subject because without creativity or vision, intelligence can go but so far.For some charts it a combination of midpoints and harmonic aspects i.e. quintiles, noviles, and septiles. EX. Steve jobs I believe had his Venus opposition Jupiter midpoint equal his Sun and his mercury being the midpoint of his sun-uranus. He also had a virgo asc, mercurial first house.

I can say with certainty it involves mercury and uranus and houses 3 and 11. Perhaps Neptune somewhere for a twist..

Another person I know who also qualifies for Mensa and far beyond - we are not talking only the top percent, we are talking far beyond that! He has Mercury in 8th conjunct Venus. And Mercury also tines Neptune.

The first really intelligent person I mentioned has Mercury in 9th, but with a square to Neptune.

Third is a person with Mercury in 10th house. It has a wide orb between Sun and Moon. No other aspect lines except for a quincunx to Neptune. This guy is also beyond all intelligent.

Forth intelligent person I do not have the exact birth time for. But she is at about the 2 % top for Mensa. Her Mercury has sextile Venus and Mercury square Jupiter.

Fifth person with unknown birth time and guaranteed within the top 2% accepted for Mensa, has Mercury on North Node and Mercury conjunct Sun. Mercury is also that kind of 1,5 signs away from a Venus/Pluto conjunction. No otehr aspects.

What I see in common with the three of those with known birth time that reaches the top 1 % of Mensa is that Mercury is on the highest spot and reaching to a little more than a "sign-length" to the right looking at the chart. And they all have Mercury in connection to Neptune one way or the other.

WOW! Cool! I didn't knew I could try Mensa

I've told I'm intelligent, but I think it's a normal kind of it

I have virgo mercury conjunct venus in 8th house, however Leo is the cusp. Virgo is 9th's cusp. My mercury has trine with jupiter, sextile saturn, biquintile Moon, quintile mars, parallel pluto and square uranus (ugh!!)

As unlucky as I am in love and social life, I seem to make up for that with some degree of intelligence.

I've always had it easier than most people in Academics and I'm told that I have a very quick mental reflect. I'm definitely not a genius though :P

Virgo Ascendant.
Mercury in 3rd House.
Mercury Conjunct Sun.
Mercury Conjunct Venus.
Mercury Conjunct Pluto.
Mercury Conjunct North Node and Part of Fortune.
Mercury Quintile Neptune.
Mercury Square Saturn.
