Posted this in the Astrology for beginners section but there was no response so thought I'd try here

Still pretty confused about orbs for example
If you're doing midpoint conjunctions and you have Scorpio at 20 degrees, and you use a 1 degree orb it would be between 19 20 21 not 18 19 20 or 20 21 22?

I haven't studied midpoints yet.

20 Scorpio?

Is that 19+(20) Scorpio? eg. 19.35' = 20 Whole Degree.

or 20+ Scorpio? eg. 20.12 (which would be 21 Whole Degree).

If you determine that, then you'll have your answer?

Yes, it means 1 degree plus or minus on either side.

I think 17 and 23 are still close. My limit is 3 degrees with squares but i am more leniant with oppositions/conjunctions because of the axis relationship. So i can go up to 5-depending on whether i resonate with the said combination of energies.
