"Virgos are Uptight." Okay, there's some truth to some of this, but the Virgos I know are pretty earthy/laid-back in certain ways. People underestimate that Virgo sense of humor.

"Scorpios are Highly Sexual, and if a Scorpio Wants You, You'll KNOW IT." Scorpios think about sex, sexuality, and power a lot...but many of them are celibate. The ones I know have been more concerned about control than sex, so they will turn away sexually from someone they want very badly, rather than risk losing control of the situation and losing the emotional upper-hand. Of course, not ALL Scorps are like this, but plenty are--lots of them manipulate and send mixed signals. And many get shy or fearful or confused about sex, just like the other 11 signs--maybe even more, since they are consciously aware of sexuality and power issues. And some of them play out the whole sex thing more in their head/their obsessions than in actually touching the naked flesh of beautiful fellow human beings, the way a fire sign likes to.

"Leos are Materialistic." Many of us are status-conscious, meaning aware of who has power and who is adored/admired...and money can be a kind of power. But most of the Leos I know are much more into having fun and exciting life experiences than collecting material things.

"Leos are Attracted to those Who Flatter Them." We DO feel warm and fuzzy when we are adored, but for us to feel attracted to you, we have to see you as an equal. And for us to really feel good, we have to know that your compliment is honest, rather than you being just a sycophant. (Also--the other three fixed signs have the same thing happening, it's just less publicized--a sincere compliment from an equal hits the Achilles heel of your average Taurus, Aqua, or Scorpio.)

"Geminis are Superficial." Not at all! They are intellectually wide-ranging, and many of them are a little fey. And yes, they skitter around doing 80 things at once. But lots of Gems are profound thinkers and profoundly spiritual people.

EXACTLY!

My mom is a Solar Gemini, and that's the only planet in Gemini

she has a very watery chart

Ascendant,Mercury,Venus,Jupiter,Uranus,and South Lunar Node in Cancer

Moon and Saturn in Scorpio

even her Gemini Sun is in 12th house and trine Neptune.....so it's very Pisces-like

I hate it when people say that Sag's are always off rock climbing or bungy jumping! I mean come on! Many of us are parents, and spouses, and workers, we have regular lives just like anyone else.

Sag's are know it alls. If I knew it all, I wouldn't be on an Astro board trying to learn stuff.

i think this applies some what to people's sun.

they are potentially at risk of displaying, all, or some, of the bad and negative traits typically associated or generalized against them.

its down to the rest of the chart which traits are more or less apparent.

so, generally, i think there are particularly annoying ones, but i think in general, nothing is really set in stone.

the potentials are in the 'theme' of the sign/placement/aspects.

p.s.

i hate most of the ones about leo, and i easily dislike my own sun sign traits in others.

Taurus: They're materialistic. Not true! Taureans are so sweet, affectionate and are deep thinkers. They'll give the clothes off their back for a good friend.

Gemini: They're two-faced. False! I noticed people call Geminis "two-faced" after the Gemini suddenly kicks their ass "out of the blue." What these people fail to mention is that they did something to **** off the Gemini. Be nice to us and we'll be nice to you. Treat us like dirt and we'll make you feel like crap. Every sign does this, so does this mean each sign is two-faced? Geminis are also versatile and adapt to many situations. This makes it look like we have multiple personalities, but this is not true! We just realize that even if we feel like chilling in the background, we need to behave as the situation requires.

Cancer: They're moody. Cancer suns are actually very lighthearted. They get depressed like everyone else does from time to time, but most of the Cancer suns I've met have fairly stable moods. They're also funny as hell and loyal.

Leo: They're attention-seekers. Not true. One of my good friends is a Leo and she's content staying in the background despite having a very fiery chart. Leos can be modest. It's only when you put them down that they assert the fact that they are brilliantly talented and should be treated as such. They treat you EXACTLY the way you treat them.

Virgos: They're pure and innocent. Haha. Wrong. This is true when they're 6 years old, but Virgos are very passionate people. I'll leave it at that.

Libras: They're sweet, prim and proper. Haha, not true. Libras can be sweet, but they're also aggressive and don't take crap from people. Justice means a lot to them so if you try to push them over, they'll put you right back in your place!

Scorpios: They're evil and sex-crazed maniacs. Definitely not true. Scorpios are my favorite sign because most of them are actually extremely sweet, kind and loyal. They also have a wicked sense of humor. They're very picky about who they sleep with and many can go years without any sexual activity. People seem to forget that Scorpios have a lot of self-control.

Sagittarius: They're goofballs. Not true! People seem to expect Sags to be jovial every minute, but they can be very serious people.

Capricorn: They're ruthless. False! They are ambitious, but they are deeply loyal to their friends and family.

Aquarius: They're crazy. Wrong again. I know many Aquarians who are calm, intelligent and don't shock people just for the hell of it. When they shock others, there is a purpose behind it. Normally, they have a brilliant idea that is so shocking that other people fail to see just how earth-shattering the ideas of an Aquarian are

Pisces: They are completely selfless and have no backbone. This is so not true! While Pisces people are very sweet, they do have a very rough side to them. They can be more aggressive than all of the other signs put together if you push too many of their buttons. Kindness is not a sign of weakness. Other people should remember this when dealing with Pisces

Virgos are cold and asexual. Not my Virgo exes. They were quite sexual - just didn't make much noise during sex. But they were good at the important stuff and wanted it alot.

Sagittarius: Fickle and non-committal. I was raised by a Saggie single mom, and in spite of her need to roam, she was very committed to her kids. She taught me my belief in God, she showed me that everyone was good until proven otherwise, she showed me how to laugh at your own misfortune, and she shows me daily how to live & let live.
Over the years, my older sister brought two freinds home to live with us on separate occasions and I brought one person home myself. Our house was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay, and some stayed for extended periods of time. My mom was always open to that, and made freinds with them. She wanted to know their story. where did you come from? What did you do to cause a fight with your parents? What do you want to do with your life? Ok you can stay but you have to help out around here. And of course they always did, more than me & my sisters did...lol...always made us look bad.

My mom always had a way of getting people to give back. Hmm she has a Libra moon too. interesting no? We had guests over all the time, even on school nights. We were the house that kids could sleep over at on school nights AND of course weekends. She seemed to love having lots of people around all the time

In the past, there were times when I had the idea that anyone viewing my chart might see my Mars in Pisces, and think that it was my saving grace. That was, of course, until I was reminded of the fact that Pisces are thought to have no backbone whatsoever, and with the mutability, are untrustworthy in general.

I have Uranus aspecting several of my personal planets - it's conjunct my ascendant, and one thing I've read that I resonate with, is that nobody should feel any reason to feel uncomfortable with me (unless they've given me a *really* good reason not to be). I hate to stick out like a sore thumb, and won't try something just because it's new - I am interested in learning new things, but I won't put them into practice, just because nobody else is. I prefer stability over constant chaos, but chaos has its place. (Just not too much of it, please!) Monogamy = good for me.

My sister is one of the most generous people I know, as well as one of the funniest, but most people would never know that because she's so quiet. She does live up to the organized/"together" side of Capricorn, though.

Sag's are shallow. NOPE, we use humour to deflect our deeper emotions. It is just a mask. We think about everything, analyze things to death, and we are capable of deep intimacy with the right person. So if you have a Sag that isn't deep, maybe your not the right person!

Gypsee, you remind me so much of my Mother. She's a Sadge with a Libra Moon, and possible Aries or Taurus ascendant - she hates exercise and most sports. She's also hilarious, and friendly with everyone. I've always been proud to have her as my mother (and my Taurean dad as my father).

We almost always had people at our house - my mother has always been very social. She was non-committal as a teenager, and into her very early twenties - her friends laughed when she announced that she was engaged (the first time), but she takes her commitments seriously. I could reiterate most of what you've written above - our house was open to anyone who needed a place to stay (as well as all the kids in the neighbourhood making regular appearances). My cousins came to her whenever they fought with their parents, and needed someone to talk to. She's a therapist to almost everyone she knows... I hated to take my own problems to her - even though she would have welcomed them from her children, more than anyone else - because everyone used her as a therapist. They also call on her to talk to someone when they think they need a wake-up call of some kind, or someone to fight for them (she then takes all the heat for it).

I agree with you. One of my friends is an Aquarius with Venus in Aquarius and he's so emotional and affectionate! He always complains that I'm so detached. Haha.
