I'm really confused about these. I realize your descendant is opposite your Ascendant but thats about it. Can someone shed some clarity on this for me. I can give my Ascendant and my mans as an example to use.Mine Ascendant = Aquarius His Ascendant = Gemini What does this mean? How/where can i find detailed information about it to read up on? Google just wanted to show me Ascendant information. Thanks! IP: Logged |

Good question.ASC(endant) is 1st house - all about you, your looks, your outer personality, how you react to situations. D(e)SC(endant) is 7th house - all about your partner, your partners looks, your shadow, how you interact with partners. With 12 signs, you take whatever sign is on the ASC, then put the next sign on house 2 and so on and so on.
The sign on the house will tell you in what matter the house will operate. The sign of Aquarius on 1st house can indicate a Strange/different/ unique/friendly personality. Gemini can be chatty/expressive/intelligent/lacking in the larger picture. This Aqua or Gemini on the 1st house will give a good description before moving onto the other 11 signs on houses shown in your natal chart. For comparison of both your ASCs, its a very good combination. Gemini is house 3, Aquarius is house 11, which can be 2nd/3rd best aspect for compatability. The middle point of these two signs has the Cancer/Capricorn polarity. Dependency, responsibility, and family will be areas important in your relationship. IP: Logged |

Here is an interpretation of your Ascendant and your Descendant. But there is so much information out there. Just google "Aquarius Ascendant", or "Leo Descendant"... or "Aquarius in first house", "Leo in seventh house". That's the best way to learn. Aquarius Asc/Leo Dsc: Attracted to creative, dynamic partners. Partners must be ‘the best’ at whatever they do. Lets partners play out the drama of relationship, while Aquarius plays the ‘logical’ one. Must learn: to express feeling, allowing the heart to lead. Unacknowledged need: to stand out in a crowd. Unacknowledged behaviour: rigidity, ordering partners to live life according to own ideals; elitism. Gemini Asc/Sag Dsc: Attracted to instinctive partners who do their own thing, without bothering to discover own wisdom. Following because it’s easier. Not acknowledging desires to feel free and unfettered, to explore and understand. Keeping busy to avoid committing. Need to develop instinct. Needs to appreciate nature and the natural order of the world. Must learn: the validity of belief. Unacknowledged need: to discover and follow own truth; to have a purpose. Unacknowledged behaviour: compromising the truth; unwilling to complete anything.
