I know traditional astrology says that 7th house aspects are good for long term but I stumbled on to an article that said to look at the 8th house for longevity due to there being "more passion" and that the 7th house, while more peaceful eventually turns things boring. I'm curious to hear everyones input on this... I have 5 planets in my boyfriends 8th house (mercury, mars, jupiter, uranus and pluto). His ex wife has 5 planets in his 7th house, don't remember which ones they were. I do know that they were together for ten years by the 5th year he was over it also they fought constantly. We've been together for 2 years and while we have the occasional tiff there have been no big blow outs. Again, curious to hear what you all think or any personal experiences. Thank you IP: Logged |

It actually depends on what each of us sees the 7th/8th houses issues as, and then it also depends on what each of us really seeks in a relationship. For example, someone's planets might fall right on my 8th house, but if these planets only forms hard aspects such as squares or oppositions to my own planets, then I might not really be happy/comfortable with this person. 7th house is related to partnerships, but it could relate to your enemy as well. 8th house is related to sex, intimacy, deep stuffs and joined resources, as well as death, transformation and so on. So it really depends on how each of us relate a house's issues to determine the final effect, even if the general trends can be applied (I might relate someone whose planets falls in my 8th house with the 8th house theme, but it could be either positive - relating this person with intimacy, deep bond and transformation -, or negative - relating this person as destructive for me through sex and passion and no real emotional bond, etc..). I don't feel the 7th is very peaceful, 8th is nice it's a deeper level of relating. Probably all goes down to preferences.IP: Logged | |
