I always hear about the MC representing one's career and never really hear too much about it representing anything romantic. With the IC, I always hear about it being the individual's roots or core/soul.

How are these points interpreted in synastry? How can we interpret contacts like Mercury-MC, or Moon-IC, or Sun-IC, etc.?

------------------
Virgo Asc 6˚& Mars 0˚
Gemini Sun 24˚
Libra Moon 14˚(conjunct Pluto 0˚ in 2nd house)
Gemini Mercury 25˚
Cancer Venus 29˚ (Mutual reception with Moon)
And yes, i'm a guy!

Hmm.. from my experience.... I've felt no romantic feelings whatsoever for a person who's planet conjuncts my MC unless there's other factors involved. I do find they tend to make me look good. Maybe it would be romantic or enticing for a person whose really career oriented, but it hasn't been in my experience.

I love IC connections though! Very tender and romantic... and comfortable.

A friend of mines Venus conjuncts my MC and from his point, it was romantic. Maybe it was romantic on his part because my Moon also conjuncts his IC.

Of course - I mean, the IC is your soul, so how can connections from other planets NOT feel like some soul-bonding? In all my romantic and long term relationships I've had personal planets conj the MC. My ex husband's Venus conj my MC, my boyfriend's Venus now does also, as does his Juno and Eros. Conjunctions to the MC will be oppositions to the IC... that means your very core will feel that connection

The IC/MC are angles and count for just as much as 1st/7th house stuff. They are more solid to me and indicative of more commitment (at least from what I've experienced) or emotional investment somehow.

I stopped buying into Midheaven having to do with just career. That's just based on the view that Midheaven is always the 10th house cusp. That's not true in equal house and whole sign house systems which have to be used in polar region areas.

In Cosmobiology and Uranian Astrology, Midheaven is actually considered the most personal and most important point in the chart.

They view the whole Midheaven/Imum Coeli axis as just the Midheaven just like they view the whole Ascendant/Descendant axis as just the Ascendant and the whole Node axis as just the Node. They don't differentiate between the angles of aspects. They usually use the hard aspects only, especially with midpoints. That's why they use the equal sign to represent an aspect. That's why they don't differentiate the axis points that I went over.

According to Uranian Astrologers:

MC : Midheaven : PSY: The individual's personal awareness or consciousness.
MANIFESTATIONS : The spirit. The psyche. Consciousness. The Ego. That which is "me" or "mine". The individual. Inner character. Inner nature. Life goals or aspirations. The conscious mind. The moment. The minute. The character of a city [in locational astrology].

According to Cosmobiology:

Midheaven is the place where the perpendicular plane of the meridian of the locality is crossed by the plane of the Sun's motion. This position in any chart refers to the authority and prominence, in particular to career, the ego-consciousness and spiritual awareness, the aim in life and in the biological correspondence of the brain proper.

The Midheaven is not only the cusp of the tenth house, but also the point at which the real inner existence and spiritual direction in our lives is found.

Aspects to the Midheaven are very significant personal relationship contacts in Uranian Astrology and Cosmobiology.

I was wondering if anybody has ever experienced an IC conjunction in synastry, and how they thought that played out in their relationship.

Hey Nyah, what's up!!! :-)

Thanks for that info Glaucus! Do you recommend any sites to read up on the Uranian or Cosmobiology views on the midheaven and synastry?

And yes, in Placidus houses, the woman I have loved pretty much all my life, her Mercury is exact conjunct my IC. In Whole Signs, her Merc is less than 2* on my IC. And in Equal, it's 4* away. I feel like she communicates with my soul! I felt that way long before I knew anything about astrology!

GG,

the IC stays always the same, no matter which housesystem you use. It is always the deepest point in your chart (as it is opposite the MC, which is the point of culmination).

but the 4th house cusp changes, as in equal system the IC is not the beginning of the 4th house.

Oh one more word, Venus is a very romantic planet, so it makes sense that someone with Venus conjunct MC in synastry would feel "romanticised".

MC/IC doesn't necessarily indicate romance, even if it can indicate strong influence. Just as DD mentioned, Venus has to do with romance, that it's logical that Venus/MC aspect is romantic.

If any of the 4 axis has to do with romance, then I would pick the DC thought, since it's about partnerships. Although it can also indicate enemy.

In my experience, I have opposed ACs with my bf, and then his IC/DC ruler sits right on my IC, while 3 of his outer planets sits in my 4th house. I wouldn't feel romantic about it, I feel that it's more about a sense of familiarity and being home with him. On the other hand, I find our opposed ACs' manifestation more romantic lol.

By the way, Got Gemini, the feeling of familiarity and home can be romantic for you, since you have Cancer Venus?

Yes Commica, I do love the home. I mean, I'm a Gemini so I also must get out but there's a few days a week when I prefer to just stay home.

What would someone's moon conjunct your MC mean?
My Pluto is there ,too.
It would have to be important cuz they are each our chart rulers?
Can't figure out how it would work though--in a practical way?

Thanks for any insights Ami

Hey Virgo, that's a sensitive point! Vertex and NN connections are also highly charged, I've found. The Vertex is sometimes called the unconscious Dc, so that on your IC would feel like home, and familiarity. His NN on it would maybe manifest (symbolically anyway) as your very soul being supportive of his progress.

BTW - to above posters, I've had IC connections but they weren't necessarily long term. I've found in my past experiences that I am more susceptible to conjunctions to the MC. But still, it would be a connection to the IC automatically. It's just that the oppositions to IC are what I have in long term, not the conjunctions. My midheaven is in Capricorn, and Venus or the sun to it in synastry have been very significant. Interestingly, my draconic Venus is in Capricorn as well, so anything in late Capricorn in synastry will conjunct my draconic Venus which conjuncts my natal midheaven. Maybe that also makes it more sensitive.

I have my Vertex on Someone's NN. He's very special to me, more than any other man I've ever known.

Raspberri, I've also felt some really special stuff from NN/Vertex. My Vertex on my guy's NN now, and once before it was my NN on some else's Vertex. It's made for unbelievable connection.
