Me and my wife have some of the most awful synastry aspects:[Her planet first] 1. Saturn square Saturn 2. Saturn opp Venus exact 3. Saturn opp Mars 3. Mars sq Ascendant exact 4. Ascendant sq Ascendant exact 5. Mars sq Pluto exact 6. Ascendant sq Pluto 7. Jupiter sq Moon exact 8. Neptune opp Mercury 9. Venus quincunx Sun exact 10. Uranus quincunx Mars The stability in our marriage comes because we have an Asteroid VALENTINE conj True Node double whammy, plus she is a Scorpio. I know that sign for ladies with atomic-laser precision. A few right gestures at the right time and 1000s of mistakes are tolerated.

Well my bf and I have an awful (I think) synastry. We've been together for two years and still growing stronger. (It's been my longest relationship so it's a long time for me). It hasn't been easy, but somehow we've learned to work out a lot of things and also learned from each other a lot IP: Logged |

Synastry aspects between the personal planets of me and my bf: - Sun quincunx Moon/Venus; - Sun oppose Venus/Mars; - Mars quincunx Venus; - Sun trine Mercury. Also, we have 2 t-squares: - Saturn oppose/square the other's Mars/Jupiter; - Venus oppose the other's Sun/Neptune. And I'm Aries Sun/Moon, while he's Scorpio Sun/Pisces Moon. This all seems scarily lack of compatibility lol, but then there are many hidden details and treasures in the synastry lol: - the strongest aspect would be our opposed ACs - we are similar, despite our differences, and our differences can be complementary too; - he has 4 fire planets that happily gets along with my fire nature - and I have stuffs in my chart that has affinity with water influenced people too (Pisces DC, 2 water planets plus 5 planets in the water houses); - his IC/DC ruler sits right on my IC, and our ICs/MCs are in opposed signs; - some few nice asteroids stuffs - some are bad ones too, but one of the strongest asteroids pattern we have is his Groom/Boda conjunct/trine my Sun and his briede conjunct my Union, my Briede/Boda conjunct/trine his Moon and my Groom conjunct his Union, and then in the draconic charts, his Groom conjunct my Briede, and our Boda trine this conjunction (forming a kind of grand trine); - Juno powaa - I've noticed that both of us are a bit influenced by Juno too when it comes to attraction, and I tend to feel attracted to Mars or Venus on my Juno, while for him it would be Venus in his Juno sign. And then, we also have a very nice composite (with hidden terrors too but well, generally it's very good lool): - Mars/Venus/Juno conjunction oppose Jupiter and trine Saturn, Moon bi-novile Jupiter - attraction, joy, commitment and stability. - Moon/Saturn and Mercury/Jupiter midpoints conjunct Sun; - Moon sextile Chiron - this is a part of a big pattern of our chart that shows pain/wounds/lessons, but this aspect helps getting through it.
Also, Mars opposes my bf's natal Sun/Moon mp, and Venus/Juno conjunct his draconic Mars while Mars conjunct his draconic Venus; and Venus/Juno squares my natal Sun/Moon mp. Actually, a not so good synastry might have sublte details that can point to attraction and compatibility (although it still won't make up the whole lack of Sun/Moon and personal planets compatibility of course), and then the composite can be relevant too. Usually, synastry and composite tends to show complementary details (it's just people might confuse compatibility with good times - compatibility actually means compatibility for better or worse), although personally, I would choose composite, since the synastry is much more complex, while the composite can be the resume of the dynamics of the relationship. But of course, again, neither of these charts are dispensable, and they both give complementary information.

Comica, needless to say, I agree with what you wrote. And I think the Venus-Sun/Neptune sounds delightfully romantic (if you can avoid the trap of too much "projection"). IP: Logged |

Yes, of course. A great relationship of mine consisted of us making the biggest Cardinal Cross in synastry I'd ever seen, 11 planets/pts involved, all square/opp each other, 7 from my side, 4 from his. It was smooth sailing from day one, instant attraction, and huge respect from both sides. I was surprised when I saw our synastry, very.IP: Logged |

11 planets involved in a grand cross in synastry?? That's madness lol~ XDBut well, t-squares being good or bad also depends on how the people involved feels about their own planets/aspects involved in here. For example, I have a harder time with his Venus/my Sun and Neptune t-square than with his Saturn/my Mars and Jupiter t-square (not really much conflict with the last one), maybe coz I have a harder time to deal with my own natal Sun/Neptune square, while the Mars/Jupiter square (which has Pluto forming a t-square with them, but too wide to be conjunct his Saturn) have never really been a problem at all. But then, maybe having Pluto and Saturn in the same sign of his Saturn also helps too. IP: Logged |
