i tend to have some issues "feeling" emotions and when i do they'r usually very intense and it doesnt happen as often as other people.
i had read somewhere that its because my moon is in my 3rd house, but when i look at my natal chart itsself it looks like its in my 4th house. it makes me so confused.
also, how normal is it to not have planets in several houses? like 7 of them or so? cuz when i look at my natal chart, i dont see any planets in about 7 of the houses.
i'd post the chart but i dont know how, so i'll just give my info:

i also have a third house moon, in aries. and i often get confused about how i really feel versus how i think i should feel and how i want to feel. its gotten better over time. i too have intense feelings.

but it sounds like your moon is conjunct your IC which it seems like would really push your feels into subconscious parts of yourself. you'd really have to do some digging to discover your feelings which is scary because its dark down there. the IC is the lowest point of the suns apparent orbit from earth, generally it said to be midnight (the MC would be noon and the ac/dc is sunrise and sunset.)

so your saying the IC is opposite of the midheaven then? and conjunct is when they are really close to each other on the chart? that would make sence cuz my moon is in my IC which is in leo, although its in late leo.

leo is a very volatile place for the moon. in my personal opinion its a very difficult placement. you also have a very tight square (90 degree angle) between your scorpio sun and leo moon. your moon (sense of what makes you feel secure and your deepest emotional self)and sun (character and ego expression) are fighting with each other to see who is boss. and they are both quite uncomfortable by house position.

i do know the 3rd house moons MUST talk through their emotions, or write them down. do you tend to go through extremes of emotional expression? trying to find a balance and not coming off too strong or dramatically? what about accepting your emotions and not squashing them or minimizing them? these all seem like issues that you would deal with based on your chart.

i do tend to have a lot, and i do mean a LOT, of depression bouts, and they can last anywhere between a month to several years.
often times when i have very strong feelings for someone i'm afraid to tell him how i feel because i'm afraid i might come off to strong, and when i reveal my feelings, whether its to a friend or to my boyfriend, there tends to be some distance that occurs afterwards and that makes me feel sad because i think i had pushed them away and because of that i tend to mask my emotions.
over time i decided my emotions were too strong for people to deal with and it became an unconcious thing to make them go away, now it feels like they have been dulled and only something very powerful can provoke them to rise to the surface.

I also see that you have a 6th house stellium and your Asc. is in Gemini, making you very Mercurian. The 3rd house is ruled by Mercury and the fact that your Mercury is in the 6th & is only conjunct the Sun, points to the fact that your Leo moon flavors your judgement than what might be apparent otherwise.

Like Electricmind pointed out, you're only aspect with your moon is a Square to the Sun, making your judgement very singleminded and based solely on your experiences. This is very conflicting with the Moon being conjunct the IC by 2 degrees. I would say that the conjunction of any planet on the IC, tends to make others far more secretive and unable to express that planets energies at an external level. And the Moon is far more subconscious than conscious and obvious.

thanks vertiver.
looking at that chart i can see how it more clearly shows that my moon is definitely in my third house, while my chart doesnt clearly define it.
this chart also confirms that i have several houses with absolutely no planets in them.

I'm like this with my emotions but my moon isn't in the 3rd house, but like you I am Gemini Rising with the Sun ruling the 3rd house, with Sun and Merc in the 6th house...

everyone's chart varies widely as far as how many houses are occupied and which houses they are. it just means that you are a much more focused person as far as where your energies naturally express. someone with every house occupied, i know someone like this... she has a hard time every manifesting anything completely because she is so scattered. she is very talented in a lot of different areas but feels very held back as far as how to be successful.

BTW, my moon is in the 3rd house and I'm also very Mercurian with Leo/Scorpio emphasis. Instead of Gemini Asc. I have Sag. and my chart ruler - Jupiter is in Gemini and in the 6th, making me, again, very Mercurian. Plus I have Gemini Venus and my Pisces Moon in the 3rd house, is inconjunct Mercury, square Jupiter, sextile Neptune and trine Pluto. And my Mars which is very dominant in my chart being in Aries is conjunct the IC. So I can relate to planets getting muffled by a IC conjunction.

hm, i think i understand, so what everyone is saying, therefore, is whenever the IC is in conjunct with a planet, the aspects of that planet get muffled? so my emotions are muffled because my moon is in conjunct with my IC and i'm in conflict with myself because my moon and sun are in a tight square, not to mention that its leo/scorpio respectively. but its funny, im not as secretive as many would think, is that because of my gemini rising? or is it because i have no secrets that i dont want anyone to know?

You have an angular Moon since it's conjunct your IC/4th house cusp. So it gets amplified, not necessarily muffled. The Moon is also the natural ruler of the 4th and is strongest in that house. That's probably why you feel your emotions so strongly.

ok, so what aspect would muffle my emotions? because, as i said, its hard for me to "feel" them, but, as you said, when i do feel them they are very intense.

The muffling bit would have to do with it being conjunct the IC and techinically your Moon is in the 3rd not 4th H. So in a sense your Moon effects both houses, but it also gets muffled due to being at the shadowy side of the chart. Does that make sense? That synastry chart is hard to interpret, it might be easier if you cast a synastry chart with your niece on astro.com.
