I'm very curious about this one, and there isn't alot out there about this asteroid so I was wondering if any of the asteroid peeps could help me out here. I have it within a 2 degree orb.

I'm pretty neutral about what happens after we die, but if you still want to throw some past life/reincarnation stuff in you are more than welcome to.

As far as I know she pretty much rules funerary rights (her and her son Annubis). In general I've always found Nephthys a bit neither-here-nor-there but she's also a lot more 'real' than the other characters in the Osiris/Isis/Set saga.

Sorry, wish I could help more :/

I have a soft spot for all of them (even that weirdo Set..LOL) but that's probably because of the way that Sextrology book spinned humor on the tale.

And yes, thats all I know of her too. Its just oddly coincidential that both my luminaries are attached to darker themed goddesses.

Sextrology book on the tale?? I've never heard of it, will look it up

I think she's a nice balance of ying and yang. She may've been married to Seth but i've read that she wasn't married to Seth the Crazy, but another aspect (huh?). Plus she was always very loyal to Isis. Tho she did try to seduce Osiris lol

Sextrology talks alot about Isis and Osiris and Seth and Nephthys in the Cancer chapter. It was weird, but funny.

Seth had a benevolent side? I had no idea.. I also thought she was married to the selfish Seth...lol.

BM, without sounding crude, there is more research out there on reincarnation than you can shake a stick at. When you're ready, maybe you'll know or look into it. The two people I know with water moons have dreams about past lives dying in WW1 and my mother dying in the holocaust. I had been an atheist for 9 years when I met a soulmate, and I fell head over heels in love with someone I did not know. After two more years of deciding I was losing my mind I finally looked into the research a ton still denying it until the 3rd psychic validated his soulmate status. I understand if you never do. There are people with detailed memories of places that can only later be validated with archaelogical digs, astonishing the archaelogists who had no clue they'd find what the person said would be there. Past life names that can be traced, and people who have spent the entirety of their lives tracing such instances. Whether they do exist or not, hypnotic regression heals phobias like no other!

Yes BM, apparently he had some weird nice guy side LOL
The Egyptian deities are very weird that way, Ra, Amon-Ra, Horus-Ra (the son-father), all kinds of like sub-personalities. I find it very confusing lol.

Here's what I was reading:

"In many Egyptological works, it is taken for granted that the deities Seth and Nephthys were married. Their relationship has been interpreted as a parallel, and sometimes a dark mirror, of that between their sister and brother, Isis and Osiris. This conclusion is largely drawn from Plutarch’s De Iside et Osiride, which spells out these relationships. Some have projected Plutarch’s story backwards, seeing evidence for the marriage as early as the Pyramid Texts. However, there is very little in original Egyptian sources which specifically links Seth and Nephthys. This evidence is limited geographically and chronologically, much of it from the New Kingdom in Thebes, and the Roman period in the western oases.
The later evidence especially suggests that while Nephthys’s marriage to Seth was a part of Egyptian mythology, it was not a part of the myth of the murder and resurrection of Osiris. She was not paired with Seth the villain, but with Seth’s other aspect, the benevolent figure who was the killer of Apophis. This was the aspect of Seth worshiped in the western oases during the Roman period, where he is depicted with Nephthys as co-ruler. It is likely that this was the inspiration for the paintings of Nephthys and Antaios, found in Qaw el-Kebir. This later mythology was probably conflated with the Osiris myth by Plutarch’s time."

Yeah, I was talking to a tattoo artist about the Eye of Ra one time...only to find out it was actually the Eye of Horus because they merged. It is confusing...LOL.

Oh no, I don't think you're being crude at all. In fact this is exactly the reason I'm so up in the air about what happens when we pass on. What we're taught in Sunday School is very different from people's actual accounts. I'm just open to everything, I guess. I would love to go under hypnosis someday though...I think it would help plenty, even if I'm not sure where it would take me.
