Some have a strong saturn for grounding, psychic armour and to keep it real! What are the advantages and disadvantages of a strong saturn?

The strongest Saturn person I know is kinda closed minded and trusts themselves more than other people. But they're very reliable and mellow ta be with. Good with helpin' people with personal problems. Also afraid ta try new things, which I love ta do. AND YEAH, PSYCHIC ARMOUR. We went to a hypnotist before and it just would not work on them! D:

Thanks RedScorp,
From memory readings the saturn is capable of building something, it doesn't have to be tangible it can also be spiritual.
In a chart with no capricorn I imagine having saturn aspects that lead to a strong saturn or placements in the 10th house that lead to the same would be an advantage.
However for disadvantages, could depression be involved say if you were strongly capricorn with a strong saturn on top? (just a theory/hypothesis)

It can add brilliance but is debilitating at times.

The person I know with strong Saturn aspects - a T-square involving all their other planets - has suffered from terrible depression in the past. I think it gives people something to have to overcome and it can make them stronger or beat them, depending on the person.

I'm not sure if I have a strong Saturn or not. It's in aries r in the 12th, squares mc, which is capricorn and trines mars which is Leo in the 5th.

But anyway, what you said, with the exception of being close minded, pretty much describes me. The afraid to try new things, that's true but if the new thing is something that could be beneficial, I usually do it in spite of being afraid.
Somethings take me longer to do though because I tackle it in steps.

Unafflicted and good house/sign placement saturn is better than jupiters same position. İt indicates strong karma, rewarding all efforts, gets better as life advances etc...

I have a very strong Saturn and it "grounds" me a bit too much, I've known depression and have an extreme fear of the unknown, to the point of being overly passive/cautious.
I've been told several times that I take things too seriously.

On the positive side, it gives a sense of responsibility, and a realistic approach to life (sometimes a bit too negative though).
Saturnian people tend to be quite loyal, and they are the ones who are willing to make things work when the going gets rough.

I actually love rollercoasters and any fast, scary ride. But you couldn't pay me to get on a ferris wheel.

Advantage is being cautious, absolutely.
Esp in a chart that is heavy in Water or Fire, a god send.

But ferris wheels are evil and scary. How could you like them? They go so slow and are so high off the ground you always have that person that likes to swing the damn seat back and forth. Stay away from the ferris wheel!

This is true, but sometimes it can be taken to extremes especially when you have a lot of earth going on.

You wouldn't believe some of the little things that cause me inner angst. They are really stupid and I'm forever having to tell myself that so I can get things accomplished. But then there are things I do that make most people go wow, I would never do that and I'm like, why not? It's not easy being me

I have Saturn retrograde in the 10th house at the apex of a tightly orbed T-Square to all of my "feminine" planets - Moon/Neptune on one side of the opposition and Venus/Mercury on the other.

I am never depressed - but I do spend my life getting my illusions, emotions, sensibilities and opinions systematically shredded to pieces. These experiences have become so old hat that I take them in my stride - I fully expect that everything that is important to me in life will be accompanied by hard knocks. The "disadvantage" is that I often have to suffer rejection, disappointment, "unfair" treatment, AND I am constantly forced to acknowledge the role of my own unrealistic expectations or dubious choices leading up to this. It is really exhausting to keep on having to cr*p on myself for being an idiot, trying to work harder to learn and wise-up, to not repeat the mistakes ... then somehow managing to find a new way to fall short again anyway or only making progress at a snail's pace ..... It's difficult to see any advantages from my perspective, but I suppose I have learnt a thing or two.

So as for the "benefits" of a strong Saturn - well I think that other people benefit from it more than I do, as I have to dig such ridiculously solid operating foundations for everything I do in order to make it work - and I know I can't ever "get away" with questionable behaviour without suffering major and decisive karmic backlash - so I am kind of "forced" to be responsible, realistic, dependable, hard working, committed, sensible, stable ... blah,blah... whether I like it or not!!!!

I have Saturn Retro conjunct the ASC.I have just started to embrace it and it's challenges.
I am just starting to understand what it means which is I must work for every ounce of self esteem I get
However, once I get it --it sticks.
That is the up side of Saturn lol

psychics are scared of me.
i've been taken to a few, and the ladies were going to do it but last minute would chicken out or avoid me.. i never had any idea why.

i tried to go to one myself, on my own.. and the sign said 'open' but the lady never went to the door.

a friend had a psychic who i was to have a consult with some days following her telling me, i called her a few times left some voicemails wanting to do it before scheduled date and she didn't even call ME to tell me she canceled. she called the friend.

neither one told me.

someone took me to another psychic after all of that and what happened? she wasn't there.. took me to another place, CLOSED!

it happens, time and time and time again!
