I have this aspect with my current bf at a 3 degree orb.

I am the sun, he is the mars.

As for right now, I'm also interested in others' experiences, but so far for me, we sometimes clash. We will have our differences, always. Whether you are someone who can deal with differences or not...well that really is up to you.

Quote from Linda Goodman's Relationship Signs:

"Sun Sq Mars

Unless there are other extremely positive planetary aspects between your birth charts, it may be wiser to balance your mutual karma in another lifetime. If you do have other strongly positive aspects between you, then this powerful vibration of trouble can be diluted to a degree, and maybe even finally be overcome.

You can make a more informed decision after you've studied this analysis of your entire relationship.

The problems created by the Sun and Mars in a square position between your charts may not be immediate apparent and naturally won't surface everyday. But when the transiting planets trigger this sensitive aspect from time to time then things can become dangerously explosive between two people in any kind of relationship or association.

Your separate ambitions could conflict, resulting in a reaction of anger and unconcealed hostility. Tempers are easily aroused, and then each of you becomes intensely defensive, inciting frustration on both sides. The only way to erase the damage from this aspect is for one of you to give in totally and submit to the stronger one, turning the other cheek repeatedly. The problem is that the hidden resentment resulting from such masochistic behavior can eventually cause the health of the one who submits to be seriously affected, unless the submission is motivated by love and humility."

Sometimes we do feel a boiling anger when we miscommunicate or step on each other's foot so-to-speak. Temper is normal. I have a temper, but my bf has not yet even showed me his mainly because he is more reserved in nature. I think it might be the fact that he is alot alot more self-controlled than I am when it comes to temper.

He has Mars Sextile Saturn and Sun conjunct Saturn in natal.

I have Sun conj Ascendant making me sometimes uncompromising and that I won't give in without a good fight.

I've had this. Transits play a massive part and can really magnify the effect. Although in my case we did both have the same ascendant, houses etc which may have made transits more prominent too.

Try not only Sun square Mars, but also Mercury, Uranus and Saturn!

Thats my experience. Fights, yelling, slapping, the whole 9.

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart have a very close double whammy.

His Capricorn Mars is square her Aries Sun (both at 19 deg)
Her Aquarius Mars square his Taurus Sun (both at 22 deg)

Strangely - they don't seem very combative towards each other. I had the square in synastry (I was Mars) and it was very feisty in an uncomfortable & unpleasant way.
