Hey everyone. I found this marriage info at http://www.bobmarksastrologer.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2913&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 and I thought I'd share it!

How true is this for you?......

""It is desirable to have:

At least one combination in the Strongest Compatibility (weight 4) category
At least 4 or 5 in the Very Strong Compatibility (weight 3) category
Zero or at most 1 in the Red Alert (weight -4) category
At most 3 in the weight -3 category
At least 3 but no more than 7 in the weight -2 category [Note that it IS desirable to have some challenging aspects in a relationship.]

Remember that some categories will be counted twice, when couples have similar aspects or positions going both ways. For example, my Sun might sextile your Mars, and your Sun might trine my Mars. Therefore we get 3 points two times over.

This list is provided twice, in two different ways. The first list organizes the aspects and positions by weight, and the second list is one that is arranged more intuitively so that it is easier to use if you are going to actually tally up scores. (Some of the items are clickable for an interpretation).

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Some scoring examples:

A couple that lasted 10 months, the last 5 months of which were very challenging, no commitment: +39 -28, for a score of 11. One Weight 4, two Weight -4 factors.

A couple married for 15 years, difficult divorce: +56 -20, for an overall score of +36. Four Weight 4, one Weight -4 factors.

A couple married for 2 years, easy divorce: +26 -29, for a score of -3. No Weight 4 factors, one Weight -4 factor.

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward, long-lasting marriage: +82 -23, for a score of +59. Two Weight 4 factors, fourteen Weight 3 factors, two Weight -3 factors, one Weight -4 (Red alert) factor.

Generally, the higher the positive score, the more that binds the couple together in the long term.

However, even many Weight 4 factors do not always save a couple from divorce (as can be seen with example 2). When numbers are high in the + category, and the couple does eventually break up, the more potential for a challenging break up, perhaps because the bond was strong in the first place.

For example, if we compare the scores of the two divorced couples (examples 2 and 3), even though there was a higher negative score for the couple in example 3, there was a weak showing in the positive score as well. This likely accounts for the easy divorceβ€”it was a quick marriage and easy divorce, as if the couple pretty much accepted that it was perhaps a "mistake" in the first place, so there were few hard feelings.

Example 4 is a famous couple often used as an example in relationship astrology. One of the reasons is that the birth data is accurate, and another is because the couple's marriage has been long-standing, which isn't very common with celebrities. Here we see an extremely high positive score, and a rather high negative score. They have two Weight 4 (Strongest Compatibility) factors, and a whopping fourteen Weight 3 (Very Strong Compatibility) factors. They have one Weight 4 (Red Alert) factor, and a rather low number of Weight -3 (Challenging) factors.""

It's an interesting one. I like their inclusions for the aspects that get the highest rank.

TOB needed tho. Which is good.

Thank you for the link!
It says that you're supposed to count double whammies twice... I got 141 and -23

Fact is, if you're willing to calculate that much, there is a bond

Happy new year to you too!!

I would say that human desire triumphs all the above. Astrology cannot supercede human desire for a love connection.

My marriage doesn't have the strongest synastry. It has all 1s and 2s and no negatives. We score only 15.

At the end of the day, none of the above matters when we've been married almost 20 years and are very happy, and have four children.

Having the strongest compatibility goes out the window once one party strays, or does something stupid. I hear women boast all the time about having the strongest compatibility with their ex or a past relationship. What is the point?

I get personally offended when the author says "easy divorce" as though its something advantageous. No breakup/divorce is good, and if a relationship is good, then it lasts long. Who cares about +4s if the relationship doesn't last? Conversely, who cares if there's a -4 and the relationship lasts?

Synastry:
Trine Sun – Mercury 2
Conjunction Venus – Uranus 1
Conjunction Jupiter – Uranus 1
Conjunction Mercury – Uranus 1
Conjunction Venus – Pluto 2
Opposition Venus – Mars 2
Conjunction Jupiter – Pluto 1
Trine Mercury – Pluto 1
Trine Mars – Jupiter 2
Trine Mars - Pluto 2

YTA,

I would love to see the composite of you and your wife. I bet the composite is strong. The synastry is important more at the beginning stages and a strong composite is important for longterm relationships since composite can be felt from the beginning and just gets stronger with time then this would explain you and your wife. The asteroids too can have a great impact in synastry so this could be why you came together in the first place.

And what about the house overlay?
In my experience its utterly important, yet many just seem to neglect them... i wonder why. Like, if we speak about long term relationships, then there must be strong, mutual connection between each others AC-DC or AC/DC rulers.

Not sure it really is. I think the problem is that we are still missing pieces of the astrology puzzle.

Precisely. There's a thread here where DD broke this down. Basically explaining why a venus/saturn (example) aspect might mean more to one person in synastry than another. Lotis White also emphasizes this in her analysis. While I do like these indicators I don't believe that they are the only thing you should look at and take into consideration.

Venus uranus conjunction, venus/mars opposition, and especially venus/pluto conjunction definitely explain why you felt in love. Jupiter/mars trine and mars/pluto trine are also I feel really nice.

In my opinion your synastry is good and if you factor in asteroids I bet there is some nice aspects there too.

As for your composite you have a scorpio stellium in the 7th house that explains why it has lasted for so long.. the 7th house rules long term committed relationships and on top of it is in a fixed sign and a very intense sign that is all or nothing.

To me it makes perfect sense why you felt in love quickly and got married quickly:

uranus/venus conjunction: love at first sight

pluto/venus conjunction: strong deep feelings develop and this combined with Uranus/venus conjunction results in strong feelings developing quickly.

You add composite stellium in scorpio in the 7th combined with a few saturn aspects in composite which you have such as venus/saturn trine and you have something that starts intensely quickly and that actually sticks and lasts.

Personally I feel you have a number of aspects I would want in a synastry or composite and to me it is a strong synastry and composite, strong enough to explain why you are happy together, faithful to each other and have an active sex life.

Edit:

Thanks for sharing !

I found this about Composite Jupiter in Gemini in 2nd House from a web site about the marriage of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers

You are likely to find much opportunity for growth and development in the most elemental, physical aspects of life. You are blessed by an inspired sense of where to make, develop, and spend money, and your abilities to achieve here will only be limited by the initial resources you start with. You will think big, not small so the more you have to work with the better things will go for you, as you do not like to piddle around. Given time, you will go from the greater to the smaller. Although there is the possibility for excessive materialism here, there is also the potential for greater spiritual understanding of the proper handling of material things - after all, you can't learn to use it right until you've got it. Generosity will likely come naturally, but you do need to keep it focused and give in ways that will cause others to utilize it and not just waste it away. Primarily, the one thing to be careful of, as always with eager and ebullient Jupiter, is to keep things under control and not let your financial situations snowball beyond your ability to keep on top of them. Although this will be a fun personal relationship, one where the physical passions can run very high, it is ideal for doing business together, particularly in a bull market, where the sky will be the limit as one good investment leads to another.

TOB needed tho. Which is good.

Yes this is very interesting. One day, I'm going to take time and calculate the aspects between me and my ex's based on the above info.

Oh cool, with the current guy I'm interested in, we have 3 "weight 4" ones.
Vertex opposition sun exact
asc conjunct north node exact
And moon hard aspect sun/moon midpoint (2 degrees).

Can't be stuffed looking at rest.

My marriage doesn't have the strongest synastry. It has all 1s and 2s and no negatives. We score only 15.

At the end of the day, none of the above matters when we've been married almost 20 years and are very happy, and have four children.

Wow! This is interesting!

I get personally offended when the author says "easy divorce" as though its something advantageous. No breakup/divorce is good, and if a relationship is good, then it lasts long. Who cares about +4s if the relationship doesn't last? Conversely, who cares if there's a -4 and the relationship lasts?

Synastry:
Trine Sun – Mercury 2
Conjunction Venus – Uranus 1
Conjunction Jupiter – Uranus 1
Conjunction Mercury – Uranus 1
Conjunction Venus – Pluto 2
Opposition Venus – Mars 2
Conjunction Jupiter – Pluto 1
Trine Mercury – Pluto 1
Trine Mars – Jupiter 2
Trine Mars - Pluto 2

I'm grateful that you wrote this, because it gives hope to those who might have a lot of 1's in their analysis ! Thanks for posting! And congrats to you and your wife! Wow, 20 years? That's remarkable! I'm so happy for the both of you! May the both of you have many more happy years together!!!

If you are interested, and only by personal request, I would be happy to post charts for you. A few have complained that they are sick of me talking about myself. I'm not about vanity. I'm pretty much indifferent to all this. I know I love my wife to death, and that's all that matters in my mind. If I had a Synastry score of -30, I would still be chuckling because the proof is always in the pudding. I rather not have the most extravagant, grandest wedding possible and break up in 6 months. It's the long run that matters.
