Pluto has so much astrological influence.

What about Ceres and Eris?
They don't seem as significant as Pluto, more like background energy.
Maybe it's because they are newly discovered planets.
They seem ignored by astrologers.
Basically we treat Pluto as a complex astrological planet.

I know my friend with Moon conjunct pluto has powerful and heavy emotions etc.

What about my s.o with Sun conjunct Ceres?
Kind and likes children etc, yes.. but is there anything else? More complex about Ceres as an astrological energy.
What does she bestow on a native?
Pluto gives intensity etc.

We all know what people with Venus or Mars conjunct Pluto are like.
My s.o has Venus conjunct Eris and I have mars conjunct Eris..

enlighten me, tell me all your observations about the dwarf planets..
I bet they will significant as Pluto, uranus, neptune when I'm like 60..
So I'd like to unlock their potential and learn things about myself when I'm young lol.

Do you have any planets in conjunction with dwarf planets?

I'd like to know more about eris too coz I have it conjunct my moon and square venus/neptune. This is one article that I find interesting:
http://www.midlandsschoolofastrology.co.uk/eris_goddess_of_strife_and_stimulation.html

According to that article, eris's energy causes disruptions and chaos, but it is also important, as it forces people to face the things that might have been swept under the rug.

Here's one that explains eris and its connection with other planets.
http://mvtabilitie.blogspot.com.au/2009/04/astrological-eris.html

quote:
With Venus, myth gives us a hint, in that it is Venus, as I've noted, who ultimately benefits from the choice of Paris. I've also mentioned positive Eris' connection with imitative desire, the way that we learn what to want because we see others wanting it. This is rather inimical to Venus' personal values, but there is common ground here with the Taurean side of Venus, with its acquisitive connection to money and possessions. 'Keeping up with the Joneses' might be a Venus~Eris phenomenon in archetypal terms, and given the competitive, invidious nature of positive Eris, in connection to Venus the phrase 'All's fair in love and war' comes to mind.

quote:
Mars also plays a clear role in the mythology of Eris, which suggests how they may interact astrologically. Eris is quite simply his sister, a kind of female version of the unpleasant, brutal Ares, the most disliked of the gods in Homer.

Ceres, minor?

Just wait until she figures strongly in your synastry.

We may not pay attention, but doesn`t mean she has a minor influence. Eris might be the same , though in this case *I* haven`t payed enough attention (interestingly she was intended to be called Persephone by her discoverer).

However, the ancient astrologers did not pay attention to Uranus, Neptune nor Pluto.
Does that mean they had no influence back then? Or rather were descriptive of certain things happening? (okay, I know there are different opinions on this).

Personally I think, they were back then as valid as they are today, the ancients could not pay atention though, because they did not know about them. Or did not deem them important (a bit later afte their discovery, it was not like all astrologers were jumping with joy that new planets had been discovered to mess up the planetary order)

BTW Ceres was discovered in 1801.

Neptune was discovered 1846, Pluto was discovered 1930.

Ceres actually originally was treated as the 8th planet, until she was demoted to asteroid status, and then promoted to dwarf planet status. lol

Ceres is a nurturing energy, a female protective energy.
However, event hough she bestows warmth,n urturing and caring to what she touches (in a way she is like a more pragmatic Moon), she also has a clingy side. Not clingy, as in neediness because she feels helpfless, but because she wants to protect what she considers belonging to her, and sometimes to the point that she has difficulties to let go.
Like she was desparately clinging to her daughter Proserpina in the myth; on the one hand it was just out of her love and the comfort there was in the mother-daughter bond, but it had grown too tight, it prevented Proserpina to grow up.
In this instance Ceres can sometimes overdo and overwhelm with her caring and protecting and providing comfort, it might smother the other person, or just make them feel so comfortable that they never think of leaving home. And at some peoint everyone has to leave mommy to become a woman or a man themselves.

There is a sacrificial theme with Ceres, too. She is forced to give something up, or someone, or at least allowing so much space, that the other person can make their own decisions again.
That is where Pluto comes into play, he forces Ceres to sacrifice what she thought to be hers alone, or at least share.

Ceres can become rather rigid and unwilling to change and let transformation happen, but that is something she has to learn.

But then again, honestly, I love Ceres in synastry mostly, it IS so warm and cosy and safe and comfortable. There is a very warm energy. Well, I know I am repeating myself, but that is how I see it.

Actually I always thought Ceres resonated more with Taurus energy, than Virgo. But there are different opinions on this.

I find this to be very true in my case. This is how I feel towards my best friends and my s.o. In the synastry charts my ceres conjunct their suns and/or moon.

Hey muddy,

So it conjuncts your moon, cool Eris is pretty significantly tied in with your psyche and personality.
What are you like lol?
Is there anything unique about your personality that you have connected with Eris, it's hard to decipher because she's in Aries which is already an overwhelming energy.

I've been thinking if Pluto is magnetic than Eris is electric.

You have singleton fire mars conjunct eris right? How do you think it plays out in your life?

That myth about Eris and the golden apple, I wondered if she was motivated by jealousy and envy (Eris was left out of the party lol) or a dislike of fakery and hypocrisy, or a mix of both? I’ve read that eris energy can make the native envious and jealous. It’s true for me, there were some times that I spoiled the "party" just so no one could enjoy it. This is like one of my biggest personality flaws, and it hasn’t been easy to control it lol.

In real life I’m competitive, disliked by many (for many reasons lol) and I thrive on their hostility. Sometimes I play the role of Eris – my existence itself brought “discords” to the family and dug up secrets that they preferred to forget.

Sometimes I shake things up, I like when people have to show their true colours. I like to call people out, and like when they call me out on my wrong-doings, we can all rub our **** into each other’s faces, then forget about it lol.

I have a problem with staying in the middle ground just to be safe, staying quiet about things that I’ve seen or known, ignoring the elephant in the room..etc...like hell no the "problem" or whatever it is, won't go away just coz you ignore it (lol). I’ll just speak up regardless of consequences, sometimes it can be good, like the time I spoke against my abusive boss, he didn’t abuse me but he verbally abused one person and everyone looked the other way.

I do believe that Eris conjunct moon is the reason behind this personality trait. Coz otherwise, my chart suggests a rather mellow personality.

---

I’ve read somewhere (can’t remember the source) that Eris makes us aware of our “internal battle” – battle of Aphrodite, Hera and Athena, of what we sacrifice for beauty, success or marriage.

Pluto and Eris, I wonder if the similarity between them is that they both seek the “truth” ? Pluto is the wielder of dark justice. Both can be jealous and manipulative. Ignore them and they’ll wreck havocs.

This article says that Eris, as a planet, is apparently Pluto’s twins (“almost perfect” twin). I wonder if that has some astrological significance.
http://www.cosmosmagazine.com/news/dwarf-planet-eris-plutos-equal/

Like Ceridwen pointed out, Eris was intended to be named Persephone – Pluto’s Queen.

I LOVE what 12muddy said!!!!

I have Sun inconjuct Eris. It's not a very domineering part of my life but sometimes I just get so irritated at ignorance, be it stupidity or idealisation of people...I just have to get up in there and smash it apart. Sometimes it doesn't even work but it still agitates me. Eris in H8...I want truth, however harsh, and I want others to know truth, and when they don't accept it, I just...

yell "LIVE WITH ITTTT...!!!!" to them,

Eris is definitely along the vein of Pluto in that they deal with truth, but Pluto's nature is fire and water and Eris' nature is fire and air. One is molten like lava and the other is electric and blinding. They are both planets capable of harshness and cruelty.

Think of how Eris, in her classification of dwarf planet, dragged Pluto down from grace and brought Ceres back up.

Yeah a lot of people dislike me too haha.

My personality is not even that smug and I'm not the type to purposefully grab attention too.
I'm usually getting **** done and slitting throats in the shadows while other people are competing and bickering against each other..
Hmmm sounds plutonian right?
I suppose Eris is a mastermind.

Actually a lot of people are threatened by me because I know my own self-worth.
A lot of shade is thrown my way from both genders.
I've also been in a lot of fights too lol.
I don't even instigate them but I'm not a coward either..
I'm agile and fight dirty so good luck with that lol.

I guess that's the nature of Mars conjunct Eris.

Agreed, I liked your interpretation Eris and Ceres, Can you post that again?

I'm too lazy to look for it
