Has anyone ever seen this website? http://www.bethlehemstar.net He sets up a list of 9 qualifications the Star of Bethlehem would have to meet in order to be valid, according to the Biblical record. Check it out for all the details he followed, but I'll summarize a few points here.
Daniel, the Jewish prophet, became an authority over the Magi of Babylon hundreds of years before Christ, but he had prophetic visions of a coming prophet. Legend has it that Daniel established a special order of Magi to be on the watch for the Jewish messiah, forming a tradition that was passed down through the generations. In September of 3 BC, the Magi knew that a Jewish "king" was being born because of Jupiter's triple conjunction (due to retrograde) with Regulus in the sign of Leo. Also at that time, Virgo was rising, and there was a new moon at the virgin's "feet," He says that was probably when Mary conceived, in September of 3 B.C.
Then Jesus was born sometime in June of 2 B.C., and the starry "announcement" to the Magi that he was born was the exact conjunction of Jupiter and Venus in Leo, creating a very brilliant star. They moved in the direction of that "star" (the jupiter venus conjunction), going to Israel. It would have taken them about 6 months to make the journey. In December of 2 BC, Jupiter went retrograde, which would give the appearance of "stopping above the place where the boy was," as the Bible says.
Interesting ideas. It made me curious, and I've always wondered about Jesus' chart! So I looked up the chart and messed around with it. The only clue this guy gave as to the exact date and time of Jesus' birth was the Jupiter Venus conjunction. The day that Jupiter and Venus were EXACTLY conjunct was June 15 at 8:30 p.m. Would that be an indicator for the moment Jesus was born? It's purely wild speculation, but... fun to try! Who knows if this guy is right, but if so, Jesus had a Gemini sun in the 6th house (the servant), opposing a Sag moon in the 12th (martyrdom and mysticism). Sun/Moon opposition also forms a grand cross with Pluto in Virgo and Uranus in Pisces (spiritual revolution). I'm not a pro astrologer, so this is my very simple take on it!
I don't know how to post images on this forum... but if you go to Astro.com, you can try it. You have to type "-1 greg" to get the year 2 BC. Anyone want to give an astro reading on Jesus? LOL
