Don't know if there is a current topic on this yet. But wanted to know if anyone has ideas as to what in a persons natal chart would cause a person to have an odd sense of humor. Finding things funny that most other people wouldn't? Mabe a badly aspected Mercury?IP: Logged |

Actually find Aquas humor to be really funny and refreshing. I have Uranus in 5th and have been told before I have an odd sense of humor. Will laugh about something, and people will look at me like 'what the heck you laughing at'.IP: Logged |

Ridiculousness makes me laugh. Like when things are just plain dumb and it's like what, I'm probably laughing.IP: Logged |

Isn't "odd sense of humor" a subjective thing? I mean, what I may find odd for one person may not be odd for the next person. But libraschoice, I have a packed 5th house including Uranus, and I also have a tendency to laugh at odd things. I also can appreciate odd and quirky humor, as well as the mainstream kind that often manifests in today's movies, stand-up comedians, and animation cartoons. IP: Logged |

I've been told I have an odd sense of humor. One incident that comes to mind which I felt was like a badge of honor for my sense of humor was when I said something hoping someone would laugh and someone did and then they said "I don't even know what I'm laughing at."I have Uranus trine Moon (and other strong Uranus connections in my chart), that could be it, if we're going down the Aqua trail. Though my favorite comedian is a Scorpio, though he is British as well sooooo..... IP: Logged |

No, it isn't a subjective thing. If the majority considers it strange, than it's safe to call it strange. IP: Logged |

I know someone with an Aries Mercury that has a very strange sense of humor. Not in laughing at bad jokes, but at making bad jokes. Im not saying Aries Mercury is indicative of that, its just she has that position and its all I can think of that makes her do that.------------------ Gemini Sun Libra Moon Gemini Mercury Cancer Venus Virgo Mars Virgo Asc And yes, I'm a guy! An Aries I know can't tell a joke to save his life. He tries so hard and always f****s it up! A Leo woman I know thinks she's hilarious and can be on occasion but it's not as often as she thinks. I play along. IP: Logged |

@RedScorp, I have tendency to laugh about same type of stuff @GirlinSeattle, interesting how you say your 5th house is packed, do you like unusual type hobbies as well?
@BBMonroe, that has happened to me before around groups of people, also its really awkward to sitt in a movie theater and be the only one laughing at something on the screen, while everyone else is quiet.
@anonymidarkness, did he have a laugh like Krusty the Clown lol? Now that's a funky type of laugh lol
@Got Gemini??, seems mabe he was just trying to be the life of the party, and with Mercury Aries he was wanting to be the center of all the giggles.

I'm confused by the whole question because humor can't be too strange or it's not even funny. Usually, I think people laugh because someone else says something they agree with...or surprises them by exposing to them what their own thought process probably is like... or just says something very true but seldom observed. So if the humor is really FUNNY (real humor) it can't be so strange that no one gets it. If everyone gets it, it's not strange. If only the person cracking the joke gets their own humor...that's more like crazy than funny. IP: Logged |

^I like to think of broad people (must be the Aquarius Moon). For example, if the general human race considers something "strange" then it must be strange, no? Even if, say, one person or a small (aka minority) group were accustomed to it. Humour is just another something that can be considered on a large scale - though in this case, the whole of humanity can be seen as impractical. Let's think in a community (LL), or even in a societal (western civilisation), scale. IP: Logged |

I have Sun square Uranus, Moon square Uranus, Mercury quintile Uranus, and Jupiter square Uranus. They really indicate my strange sense of humor. I'm into comedies like Mr. Show, Ren and Stimpy, and Robot Chicken.IP: Logged |

Yes, my humor has been called crazy before lol, have a tendency to laugh at things that are more on the ironic side. My husband sometimes doesn't even get my humor:/

Hey RAS, I think there is something to the Moon/Uranus or Aqua placements in chart that could cause more quirky type humor...have to check my natal chart again to see what else my Uranus aspects. IP: Logged |
