I know that everyone has the ability to choose not to cheat but would this make someone prone to cheating.

Mars in Aquarius (1st house) opposite Uranus in Leo (7th house)

Nope.
Aquarius is a fixed sign, remember. And I really think you need to take the entire chart into account for the general personality of the person, which tells what he/she most values.

Mars in Aqua/10th, plus Venus in Gemini in 12th. My combo is notoriously known to be unfaithful, but I'm the complete opposite.

Look for aspects, and what energy the person is dominated by, and whether the sign is fixed, or mutable.

I get what your saying. Then what do you consider cheating aspects to look for? Or red flags?

I found this article interesting:

I don't think you can absolutely say someone will cheat or not. I'm. Just wanting to know, if someone is more likely.

just like the sasstrology article points out - there are indicators that a person may have issues in regards to relationships - (sharing power/control, needing space or excitement, communicating thoughts/feelings) - but ultimately "free will" and the entire chart (whether supportive or malefic or beneficial aspects or placements correlate with that natal and their progressions and transits) need to be taken into account - in astrology, it's not uncommon to hear the word "evolved" used to describe a person who has (either knowingly or unknowingly) adapted and overcome their challenging aspects, or negative traits associated with their sign/placements... so, the expression of the same aspect held by many people can vary because of how they have grown, and been groomed (education, socio-morality, spirituality, family, their own experiences and effort).

I have at least two of the mentioned aspects that are suggested by sasstrology as indicators of a cheater in a natal chart -

I am a serial monogamist... Married for 7 years this June, together for almost 9 - and spent 4 years in a relationship before this - all monogamous. (I had many a short relationship in my youth, but have never sunk to cheating.)

My husband also has /some/ of the indicators - he has been unfaithful - at times - in our relationship. My ex also had some of those indicators in his chart - he was a hopeless philanderer - My father had none of the indicators given - but he was unable to remain committed to anyone until he was 50! (and that only lasted 4 years.)

transits and progressions are sometimes quite reliable in discerning these moments (noticeable changes in behavior and attitudes towards relationships can all occur during transits and with progression).

But, I do not believe any one sign or aspect will surely, without doubt, make someone the "cheating-type" - or even "prone" to cheating...

Seems my SO has all those cheating aspects mentioned in the article in his chart, except the Mars in 8th house. Should I worry? Never been married before him, reason I didnt get married is because I didnt want to be with anyone who would be a cheater. Wish I would have done my homework alittle more before I commited myself.

Duh, I have all those aspects mentioned in the above article, except my venus is in 7th,and I have Moon trine Uranus.

And NO am not a cheater.

Quick question, what if both partners have hard aspects -mars sq neptune, venus sq uranus, mars in 8th etc...I mean both charts have the same kind of energy..what happens then?

For the people who have these aspects how do you see these energies manifesting in your life. Are you using them in another way. Do you get bored or choose partners that represent that energy.

Cheating is a matter of free will, which is not shown by a chart. I had a former friend with plenty of Scorpio in her chart, and she cheated on her longterm boyfriend repeatedly. My other friend had mostly Gemini in her chart and she was extremely loyal to her boyfriend.

Cheating is not just about the natal, it's also about the synastry. My boyfriend and I have strong Mars-Saturn in our synastry, a combination that is supposed to increase sexual fidelity.

And keep in mind that only 20% of men and 15% of women are ever unfaithful in a marriage. Most people are never unfaithful so why do people worry about it so much?

I agree with everyone above. It doesn't come down to just one aspect.

Personally, I have been unfaithful before. Sun/Uranus/Ascedant conjunct in Sagittarius, Aries Moon, Venus in Capricorn, Mars in Aqua.

They say Aries Moon is a 'cheater' indicator, and I can see why. The Moon rules my 8th house. My Aries Moon makes me quite impulsive.

However, my sister is a Sag Sun, Aries Moon with Venus in Scorp conjunct Uranus, and she would never, EVER cheat. She's emotionally impulsive, but not sexually impulsive. The Moon rules her 1st house.

Actually based on studies done, 60% of men and 55% of women have admitted to have cheated on their partners after marriage. The statistic isn't that low unfortunately. I mean a big portion of men have affairs sometime in their marriage...

No that's actually incorrect. Here ya go: http://blogs.wsj.com/economics/2010/08/31/amid-downturn-divorce-and-infidelity-decreas e/

Sociologists have found that people overestimate the infidelity rate routinely by 30%, and they are getting this info from actual cheating websites that trumpet the numbers to far higher than they actually are. Post your source. I guarantee it's a website for cheaters rather than a credible study. In any given year, 3 in 100 married women cheat, and 5 in 100 married men.

Haplesschild*, here are the infidelity rates by ethnicity: http://anepigone.blogspot.com/2010/03/infidelity-rates-by-ethnicity.html .

So I can definitely see how if you tend to date men of certain backgrounds, how that could influence one's perception of how prevalent infidelity is.

At any rate, I used to have an irrational fear of infidelity myself, so what I did was, and I'm embarrassed to admit this, tons and tons of research on it. I mean, I poured over the data. I can say that the highest macro-level reported rate I've seen at any age group was 28% prevalance, and that's for men. And that particular survey encompassed 70,000 people. And that's including cohabitators (bear in mind that infidelity rates are higher for cohabitating couples than legally married ones). So I'm happy to report that it's really not as common as people think, and we don't need to worry about it nearly as much as ensuring that our relationships are happy and our partners are fulfilled.
