Grand trines can make people lazy, or they work so effortlessly that you don't even notice them.

Oprah Winfrey has a grand trine. Hello.

I have one too. I've been known to work myself to exhastion. I pushed myself so hard through college I had a nervous breadown shortly after graduating.

I've written about grand trines here in another thread, so I wont go into what I said ther too much, only to say that grand trines make people much more self-reliant and as I like to say "a hard nut to crack". They don't need relationships for the same reasons other people do. Look at Oprah and her relationships with Stedman and Gail. People gossip viciously about how unconventional her personal relationships are but most likely they are uncovnentional not becuase of anything scandalous or shaneful, but simply because as Grand Triner she doesn't rely on relationhsips the same way as others often do, so on the outside, her relationships appear odd to simple-minded fools...er I mean, other people.

Grand Trines have immense potential for the person to make good use of their own native talents without needed to ask a lot of others. This is why in synastry a Grand Trine is so great--it allows both people to tap into their native talents and strengths from within the relationship.

Mutual receptions do increase the prominence of the two planets in the chart. Elliott Smith had a Taurus Venus-Cancer Moon mutual reception and one can sense this in his music: deeply emotional, intuitive, reflective and captivatingly intimate and with unparalleled musical aesthetics for his generation. It also likely contributed to his notoriously persistant alcoholism, as he was at once expriencing profound pain and emotional need but rejected help due to his excessive Taurean pride and Cancerian emotional defenses. His personality was so strongly colored by his Taurean-Canerian energies from that mutual reception it was hard to beleive he was actually a Leo Sun.

Aries moon in teh 12th is an intersting and likely challenging placement. Within the Grand Trine it may present you with a sense of loss relating your own sense of a core identity. Part of exercising the promise of that Grand Trine will likely involve addressing the loss you associate with your Aries Moon and learn to let go so you can be renewed and reborn, which is the ultimately lesson of the 12th house. This may be difficult as that sense of loss may be difficult to articulate in words. Try drawing or expressing it through some other non-verbal art to help you learn to confront it, so you can ultimately let it go.

You say you're lethargic about persuing things, but I suspect it more a sense of not understanding how to channel your energies. That is typical of Cancer Mars, and that could be made more challenging for you by the mutual reception. Both Aries and Cancer, both cardinal signs, are prone to frustration with they cannot act as they think they need to. With your Mars in the 3rd house, an avenue for you to help confront and channel this frustration could be through writing, even if it's just writing a journal or letters to yourself, expressing as best as you can what makes you frustrated.

Also, I highly recommend low-impact exercise, like walking, while listening to music or doing low-impact aerboics or other low-impact exercise routines to music. Cancer Mars suffers from a poor mind-body connection and although you may feel that exercise isn't your strong suit, exercise is exactly what you need to strengthen that mind-body connection. It will also help you channel some of your emotional and mental frustration can may be a blockage for you.
