Saturn will be transiting through my 5th house in some months, and I was wondering what I should expect from this transit.
I've read not so good stuff about it. The 5th house being linked to fun, romance and children. It will stay there for quite some time too (until late sagittarius).
Saturn will start by squaring my Venus (doesn't sound good, right?) and I also have pluto, mars and Vertex in this house so it will make conjunction to those along the way.

Anyone has any experience with saturn transiting this house? and with transiting saturn square venus ?
I'd love to hear your experience with it and how you handled it since it seems that saturn transits always bring their share of challenges.

Saturn in the fifth house seems to make everything serious. Think of a classroom of kids, having fun with no teacher. That's your fifth house. Once Saturn comes on the scene, the teacher has arrived! Fun can still be had, but in a structured way, such as learning a new skill like painting by going step by step.

A Saturn squaring your venus may actually be a very good thing. This indicates a lack of superficiality when it comes to partnerships. This is a good time to focus on what you really want from a relationship, as well as what others are giving you. There might be a withdrawal from social interactions while you try to figure this out. Also, establishing new relationships at this time could be tricky as well.

Saturn conjuncting mars and pluto has the potential to be explosive.

Saturn wants to slow everything done, and mars wants to go, go, go! This aspect will bring a period of limitations for you, along with cranky people. The key to getting through this time is patience, and working through any problems that arise by addressing them as quickly as possible. Do things by the book. This is not the time to do things illegally, as in speeding in traffic or doing some form of cheating. On the bright side, this is a good time to do housecleaning, become more organized, and get many things accomplished through good old-fashioned hard work.

Saturn conjuncting pluto is going to bring a lot of unsolved problems to the surface. You could become very irritable about something that happened in the past, or someone could vent a lot of their old problems to you. Shady characters could appear, so don't take new people you meet at face value at this time. As with the conjunction listed above, focus on solving problems as they arise. If several skeletons fall out of your closet, give them a proper funeral and bury them. Again, a lot of hard work can be accomplished as well.

Good luck!

Saturn is finishing up in my 5th house.

Yeah you still get to do fun things, but there can be hard lessons that come along with those, sometimes.

Like going to the club, but having to deal with creepy guys, and realize how overrated the club scene is.

Or just wanting to relax with friends after work and school on a Friday night, and just wanting to take the edge off. But you're the only one with a car. So you end up driving everyone around picking up more people dropping some people off...getting food. And when it seems like I finally get to relax and hang out with some of them. My friend drinks too much alcohol and throws up, her sister has to leave so it's me, drunk girl on the verge of passing out, and the out of state guy she met online that no one knows very well. And pretty much make sure this guy doesn't rape her. So yeah I definitely did not get the edge taken off that night.

Also since the 5th house rules children I got a job working with preschool kids, and then doing latchkey after school. So I have been working with children from ages 2 1/2-14.
The more I work there, the more and more hours I get at the school.
Summer of 2011 I got a job working in the day care. So I did not get a break working with kids.
And then I got asked to babysit two kids.
I've gotten burned out quite a few times.

And when my guy was in town, that's when everyone wanted me to take their shift at work. It p!ssed me off. My friends and guy told me it's okay to say no, you don't even have to have a reason. Well I got the nerve to say no to the lunch lady that was the worst at asking me to take her shift. Like I pretty much filled in for her for a week, and then she tried asking me the next week. It was just rude and her excuses, why...made me think 'really?! suck it the f()ck up!!!' So I'm able to tell her no now.

But I had a lot of fun when my guy was here. We even went up north for a weekend.

But when I went to visit him. I had the summer off, he didn't. So that was hard for me to deal with. I was ready for a night on the town when he came home. And he was tired. Plus he had lots of car issues so most of the week we couldn't go anywhere anyways. It was hard for me, but I know he was doing his best. (except for one day...I just really wanted to tell him 'suck it the f()ck up!')

Recently I had a mom with 3 kids ask me to sit, I had to tell her no, twice.

I realize I need to treat myself to kid free activities like the spa, and the shooting range.

I also don't think I want to be a preschool teacher anymore.

I feel the next chapter of Saturn in my 6th coming on. Figuring out what else I can do and how picky I've gotten and how I just don't want a quick fix anymore.

"Vertex in the 6th house: With this placement the person lives their emotions in a fairly unfree manner and is linked to a series of obstacles that prevent them from fully living a relationship. It’s possible that there is a choice of love that is not free or that requires dedication, care, service or responsibility that can take magic out of the relationship. Some relationships may come from the workplace but they will have difficulty living freely outside of that sector of life. Chiron transits are the ones that change the path of these people, so that they can help develop their self worth and, most of all, look for relationships in which they can look for a daily space where they balance their heart learning, thanks to the partner, to bring greater lightness to their life. Stawr summed it up nicely. I also had to deal with kids during that transit and an irresponsible mother wanting me to sit her kid while she was out dating... I put my foot down and drew the line as to what my responsibilities were with that kid and which were not to the point that i haven't seen the kid or mom since the transit because of how totally f'd it was.

That transit really did me in. I'm just now feeling somewhat ok to try to be myself but it still stings a little as it is getting ready to leave my sixth.

I had similar experiences while going out... Someone got momentarily kidnapped and beat in the back of some random people's car after having thrown a fit at a fast food place and the strangers having seen it and taken no like to it.

Ditto on the having to be on the lookout for creeps.

My love life dried up, kinda or it seemed like it did as i was casually seeing two guys and was living with another one.. All 3 broke apart almost at the same time. It stung.

My health was also something in question as it moved over my Sun.. I thought i had a heart attack, during the transit. I also had car issues then since Uranus was opposing at the same time (got hit by a drunk driver) and i never checked it out but just suffered it through alone in bed since i had no $ for an ambulance/med bill.

If it conjoins a planet, see what part of the body that planet rules and careful not to be risky with that planet. Mine was the Sun and so, the heart.

It was no fun. No fun, at all and a painful experience for me. Luckily, it's been exalted while in Libra so i've caught a break.. It feels as if everything is on Pause while in Libra and that part drives me a little nuts.

@ dadevi : thank you! this was very informative. I like your analogy with a classroom with kids and the teacher And the explanation you gave make a lot of sense. The link you directed me too also has a lot of precious informations on the vertex and saturn transits to it. I had never read this about the vertex so thank you very much for pointing me to this thread !
The Saturn -venus square scared me a bit. Ever since saturn has been in libra it has been squaring most of my personal planets and my ascendant which wasn't fun at all. I am sort of wary of hard saturn aspects to personal planets since.

@ Stawr and C1ND3R : Thank you both for sharing your experience with this transit. It is very interesting to see that it brought you in contact with children somehow (I didn't expect it). The part about learning hard lessons while having fun is rather frightening to me.
But overall it does seem that this transit makes one reconsider ways to have fun and relax.

I had read all kind s of bad things concerning the impact of this transit on love relationships: relationships might broke or might be tested, an old love could come into your life, fewer opportunities for romance but also deeper and more meaningful ones. I've been tempted to think that as usual with saturn, it puts a lot of stress on the matters relating to the house, and if it withstand the saturn impact then it's great, and if it does not then you have to find ways to rebuild it better, so it can last longer.

Yeah I have no planets in Libra

but during it's time in Libra it's
squared my Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn.
trined ASC
opposed Sun
and trined Mars (been upping my exercise while it's been here)

Yes I've over did it at the bar, my sister and her friend's I went with where too wasted to drive home. My sister's friend and boyfriend where fighting outside and sh!t. These dudes that where following us around offered. To drive her car home. And I went in the other car with the other two guys I didn't really know. If my sister was sober she would of been like hell no.
Yeah one guy I danced with and made out with, but I did not want it to go any farther than that.
That guy tried to get me to go home with him or something. And the other dude tried telling me that my sister was going to his place. I knew it wasn't true. My sister is married, and not like that. So that was scary. I was like I'm pretty sure she is not, and you are to take us home.

Yeah I've had some humiliating love life moments from friends wanting to play matchmaker. I've also have had a few falling outs with girl friends over guys.

But I'm glad none of them worked out cause I am with a winner now.

wow, to me it does look like saturn sort of puts you through a situation and show you the downside of it, to actually make you reflect on it.

That is exactly how I tell myself I should see saturn transits. Some things won't work out and at that time it may appear like some failure or inability, etc.. but in the end you just realize it was all for the better.

^ my philosophy is that the "better" is not havin that stinkin transit again.

That transit was the reason for all the b.s. so of course, after having been knee deep in it, ANYTHING seems to be better. I sometimes wish there were a big nuke to send straight off to that ball of gas to just blow it the heck up.

Oh boy! Could you tell us more about your experience with Saturn in the 5th?

I'll have saturn in the 5th house in my next solar return and it will square everything!

For me, saturn sq venus led to a break up, depression, social isolation, and loneliness. Same thing has happened to lots of my friends going through the same transit. Though, one of my friends is going through it right now and her relationship is strong but she just moved to a new house and is completely broke and she feels socially isolated

My sister met her now-fiancι when saturn transited conjunct her 5th house vertex

Saturn transiting through 5th house conjunct venus in scorpio, started a relationship with a man who I felt was truly loving kind devoted, 5 years into it he dumps me when his mother tells him she doesn't like me, TUrns out he is basically a sociopath and does a smear and discard against me, talking bad about me behind my back to his family. Beyond sad hard lessons.

• Restricted social life
• Inactive love life
• Heartbreak, in case you are involved with someone
• Backstabbing friends/acquaintances show their true colors
• Getting involved with someone you are crazy about but who turns out to be toxic/dysfunctional
• Loss of self-worth, confidence
• Loss of interest in your usual hobbies
• Living like a recluse

It is a horrible transit (especially as mine was in Scorpio) but you learn a lot through it. I experienced my first heartache and it was horribly painful but I'm fine now. Saturn is almost done with this transit.

I went through a similar situation as MineAgain ^.

I'm also at the last degrees of this transit in H5.
I have to admit that all these areas that were affected as above, have hurt,a lot but also matured me in a way that I never thought was possible.

Saturn was conjuct nUranus square my Venus throughout this period. I was in a "relationship" in which was so on & off even I have lost count of the times we broke up and reconciled.
It ended permanently when Saturn was exact square my Venus, the second time he crossed that point.
Financially, I was also in a terrible situation.

Tbh, I wouldn't mind erasing a few memories from the past couple of years Saturn was in H5 Scorpio.. but, we gotta learn from our lessons somehow I guess

Same here! I actually had a bizarre on and off situation with a man. It was a really strange situation which I had never experienced before.

Now that Saturn is about to leave my 5th house, I'm losing complete in his existence. I kept Facebook stalking the guy for a year after we stopped talking. At this stage, he's simply a memory.

I agree with the financial restrictions aspect! It's about to transit my 6th house which isn't any better since I'm already jobless!

Saturn will arrive in my 5th at the end of January, but I'm already living like this?! D: I've already had my heart broken so many times, I don't think I could even fall for anyone anymore.

Also, I have already been feeling stifled with my creativity, or just that I'm changing so much that my art can't catch up with me.

Saturn will also square my Saturn next month. It starts right on the date of a certain deadline, and I'm afraid that I'll lose my financial aid and have to drop out of school! (Jupiter and Venus will be in my 2nd, too.)

I am currently going through this transit and will be going through it until next year! The day when Saturn moves into my 6th house I will celebrate hahaha

Now when it comes to love... I met someone who I was crazy about the time when Saturn entered Scorpio and my fifth house. We were together for two years and we had all the problems that couples can possibly have in one relationship lol it was emotionally draining and very depressing at time. We broke up in January this year (Pluto square Uranus). And even tho this was a very difficult relationship at times I learned a lot through this transit about me and other people. I have grown a lot and I am grateful for that. Apart from that Saturn doesn't really mean fun times lol so there was not a lot of fun for me during this period. I was very serious most of the time and just liked to do serious things lol

Anyway when it comes to creativity, no I didn't have a creative block. I was able to create more "commercial" art that will sell and he has given me a lot of opportunities when I have had structure and I have worked hard he has rewarded me. During my this time I have learned how to use my talent to create artworks that other people can relate to rather than just me. I have also learned how to keep organised and found a process that works for me best

Overall I don't think this has been a terrible transit to be honest as I have learned a huge amount. It depends if you are used to Saturn energy or not. My chart ruler is Saturn so I know him and he knows me lol

Don't worry too much about it. Just embrace the learning process and you will be fine

Thank you Curious Pisces! The things you describe sound pretty relevant to my life. I don't know why, but I can actually feel myself heading towards a relationship like that, even though I don't know who it would be with. ^_^

quote:

I think this is what I'm about to go through, also! Just last night I had this huge epiphany about being a part of the world and coming out of my own little world.. It was very healing, kind of like, 'Oh, I'm allowed to be part of the world. It's not going to destroy me. This is what being human is for.' Haha

So I think that Saturn will be pushing me into the mix. I plan to sacrifice my being for the music. Much better than sacrificing myself for someone else.

I'm going through it right now.
It gave me the first serious relationship and it's taking it away now.
I am so depressed that it is and was all doomed. And there is no hope and never was.
Saturn will be entering the next house only in one year from now
*sigh*

Does this always cause heartbreak? What if your Saturn makes aspects to another persons personal planets? Couldn't this make you feel more serious about the person?
