Just in general, what do you think could make someone into conspiracy theories?

I have two people in mind that I know that seem really into these. I don't mind hearing about them, sometimes they're funny. I play with the possibility, but it's not something I care enough to occupy my mind with regularly. I'll get their charts, but wanted to see what you guys think could make people so interested in conspiracies?

Are you into them or know anyone who is?

I guess mercury/pluto would be one, but I have it, and I find them funny lol, they could be true, but still...funnyy.

Anyway, a mercury in Scorpio I know is into them, she is usually rather quiet, but once I happened to bring out that topic...and she kept going yaketty yak yakk like a gemini moon would for half an hour perhaps.

Same. I can't help but chuckle sometimes. Even the most banal ones like "the grocery store is closed today because of a cOnSpIrAcY!"

I can't prove it isn't but my thought would be more like "oh maybe a maintenance issue. Maybe the fridges and freezers stopped working?"

^ Yeah lol, I especially find people digging up symbols in everything funny.

I can't remember it properly atm, but once I had this conspiracy theory in my mind about LL lol. Was really into mk-ultra(which I think does exist), illuminati and greys at the time lol.

Sometimes we confuse stupid people or people with mental issues with people that try to see whats behind the curtain.I m not the type of person who just buys what the other sells without checking it myself.I dont believe mainstreams media, and when i read stg important i try to confirm it from many sources. When i hear stg that may sound out of the ordinary,i dont reject it automatically,i just search if it may be true.I dont believe common sense is really common and i believe in matters that some may call as conspiracy theories.I just call them possible facts or facts.Mercury in gemini ,5th house trine pluto in libra in 9.Mercury quincux uranus and conjuct south node.

Sure, that's good, and it's good for people to have that. I think of it as: healthy skepticism.

But I wouldn't classify a skeptic as a conspiracy theorist.

i agree with you, mainstream media is often just a tool and not where you get real information

actual info requires deep digging and often things labeled as conspiracies are called such to discredit and then later evidence ends up shedding light on them

I have always been sceptical towards media and I have with my own eyes seen so many times how west media angles things to their own truth or to their own benefit and thats not conspiricy, its facts.

As Malcolm X puts it in this quote "“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”

And of course I believe there is so many things behind the curtains, kept from us "sheeps". The "new world order" and such.

Democracy, is an illusion. Its just a lie to keep a world order.

I have Pluto in 3rd scorpio. Opposite Mercury and Sun in 9th.
Virgo rising.

I'm not inteested in surface fake media. I have always been the one who likes to dig in deeper. Same at school, I hated the dogmatic teachings at my school (typical of schools at west, civilized my butt).

Always started arguments with my teachers, questioning their stupid dogms and how they just stod there and tried( tries) often with total success imprinting their "truth" in our brains

Yeah, I have to agree with you there. It's almost like 'conspiracy theorist' is now a slur and if you call someone a conspiracy theorist, they think it means something bad.

Even some conspiracy theorists hate being called conspiracy theorists. I think the negative connotations have been internalized in a lot of ways.

You said that you find these sometimes funny,so you characterise conspiracy theories as stg not serious.Thats why there is the negative colour in that ,cause people connect some theories with fun or stupidity or madness.

most of the news and media people consume are coming from the same few companies and people with the same overall incentives

if you look at comic book movies for example you'll see huge amounts of propaganda and there's actually open evidence of them being used as such (as if the blatant messages arent enough, ever notice super heroes always fight to keep the status quo?)

malcolm x was completely right, the divide and conquer tactics used by 2 party systems and the media etc all keep people from connecting to each other while their lives are being dictated by their real enemies

schools are terrible with it, between the mind numbing forcing children to pledge to a flag ******** and the fake teaching it's amazing anyone learns much of anything

even the truth about figures like gandhi you don't get in school where pacifism is largely pushed so he's seen as a hero

i find it interesting how much effort is put into people being pushed to have pacifists as heroes or to fight only for those in power

which is interesting because pacifism very often sets actual revolutions back

edit: btw i have 3rd house uranus and saturn (in whole sign in placidus it's uranus mars and neptune) and chiron and lilith are the only things in my 9th

i was always in trouble at school for calling out **** teachers didnt want to hear and asking questions i knew they didnt want to answer etc

it's because for years people who believe in that sort of thing have been portrayed in the media as being cracked out schizos talking nonsense and being a joke

and in turn that makes people in society hear someone say anything that sounds like that irl and immediately they associate it with that subconscious view of the cracked out guy with the tin foil hat listening to static in the desert or some **** like that

which automatically makes them a joke

it's interesting to me how many ways (astrology included here, the common idea of what it is has very little to do with everything that it encompasses and is just a cheap easily discredited version of this which in turn makes people think of you as an idiot for studying it) people have been subtly taught to discredit things with value that might alter mass perspective

says a lot about the balance of power and what goes on

but i mean, it makes sense you have power you need to keep it at all costs or else you lose it and are at the mercy of your usurpers

best way to do that is to make sure the likelihood of there being any is slim to none

@kirki this applies to what you said as well

it is, especially when you see how easily people just ignore them and keep going on with their lives like nothing is said

there's no real outrage even when proof is shown

Serious things are funny, too, sometimes. Doesn't mean I discredit. Some things are just funny to me I also think the possibility in the infinite universe that there is a planet made entirely of whipped cream is hilarious.

Though I do understand why some would consider finding humor in it as being seen as not taking them seriously, which probably triggers them to think about family and friends who've ostracized them, if they've been vocal about it.

Hokay, here are two friends who are huge conspiracy theorists. (correct times)

First one, literally every other day he speaks of conspiracies, and brings them up. Sometimes he'll even say that the reason he doesn't have gas is because aliens took it. Again, can't prove aliens didn't take gas from his car. Who knows.

Second one, again, every visit involves chatting about conspiracies. Sometimes claims either Mossad or the CIA did everything, including his girlfriend being a sleeper sent by some agency. Or, a guy in black who followed him for a minute was an agent. I feel like for him it's half in jest and half serious. He does chuckle at his own conspiracies and find them amusing himself. But he does loooove looking at all conspiracies and learning about every single one. I think I've learned more about most conspiracies from him. I wouldn't of my own volition feel so inclined or dedicated to looking up conspiracies. My "digging" niche is more about human psyche, psychology and spirituality. Though I guess in some way they're somewhat intertwined in a different way.

For the first one, I think it's mainly due to his neptune making a quintile aspect with mercury. Quintile has an even stronger effect than a square btw, so a square aspect between Neptune and Mercury already indicates 'a difficulty with an overactive imagination interfering with rational and logical processes of thought; this can result in self-deception and the construction of a private version of truth and reality.'

Then another quintile aspect between neptune and his moon:
"The main challenge facing you with the square aspect is that of discrimination between reality and unreality, between fact and fiction, and the consequences of confusion when these are not correctly perceived and established within consciousness. Volatile and tidal emotions and feelings are often intertwined with your imagination so that your perceptions are clouded by personal bias and fantasies. Attempts to warp realities, especially those concerning others, are never welcomed and are a source of conflict within relationships. Insisting that you are right - even against the recall of several others - will eventually generate antagonism, as no-one enjoys having their reality and memory threatened by others, even if they are family members. "

Natal Uranus in the 12th house, the native will eventually develop a rather eccentric character, and the planet might also give a very strong intuition and even clairvoyant abilities. People with such a placement usually do not consider themselves as weird, as they seldom observe themselves objectively. Nevertheless, their behavior can be quite erratic and chaotic, and their subconscious and unconscious mind function in a rather different way than for the rest of people. These traits can, in the native’s young years, create alienation from the other children, who will frequently consider him as bizarre and weird.

I guess, the fact that it's in sagitarrius makes him also extra interested in 'foreign realms' such as aliens lol. Neptune in the first can make someone also have psychic abilities. However, the way you describe him, makes him sound more delusional than actual perceiving things in other realms accurately, so that must be mainly due to the quintile aspects with Neptune.

The second person has in common with the first: neptune in the first in Sag and Uranus in the 12th House, explaining his interest in psychic and 'weird' stuff, but he takes his own interest and fascination of conspiracy theories less seriously than the first, because his Neptune is not negatively aspected, so he isn't as clouded as the first, believing it's all real..

8th house/12th house action with Merc/Moon there. Pluto/Neptune aspects to Merc/Moon

I would also include Jupiter/Venus there in 8th/12th too. Pluto in aspect to Jup or Plu in aspect to Venus.

I read David Icke. Huge fan.I suppose it's my Venus in Scorpio.

I think they're funny and like to study them but I don't usually care if they're real or not. I just study them because I want that information in my head for some reason. I have Neptune conjunct Sun and Mercury. No Pluto aspects except conj Venus and DSC.

Yes, I kind of feel the same. I'm fine hearing about them, but I'm pretty indifferent. You could actually tell me one of the secrets of the world is that all government heads are actually cat people from another planet, in another dimension, and it wouldn't blow my mind either way.

I'm not easily phased like that.
