I know that when someones mars or venus falls in your 5th house you will be very attracted to that person. But what if your ascendant falls into the other persons 5th house? Would they to be attracted to you just as much because the ascendant is your appearance? Does the same go for the 8th house?IP: Logged |

The only time when the ascendant is looked at in synastry is if one persons sun is conjunct the other persons ascendant or in the first house------------------
I once saw a sign that said "sin is death" but if "all deaths are suicide (linda goodman)" and suicide is sin, then shouldnt "death is sin" be more appropriate? when organic is used to describe food then you know we have come to a dark age in history IP: Logged |

Yes, that is possible.
I've had that several times and it seems to work if supported by other factors.
There should be some aspects to the ASC though, otherwise it's just a mild attraction, sort of "I like you" and not "I'M CRAZY ABOUT YOU!!". 
I disagree with Nicki here - the ASC is a very important point in synastry and all the aspects to it count, in my opinion (they are of course also reflected by the DSC).

My imprezhion is that they will see you as a child, or thru childlike eyes of joy. I have had AsCs touching my 5th, I see them as a kid in some way. Not sure if it makes senseIP: Logged |

The way I see it the Ascendant is the mask we wear when we meet other people, first impression, how we interact with other people when we are in a group. The Descendant is how you encounter other people on a one-to-one basis.
As I see it:
Ascendant in your 8th house: The impression he makes on other people will stimulate your desire for intimacy.
Descendant in your 8th house: The way he encounters other people in one-to-one relationships will stimulate your desire for intimacy.
I think the Descendant in someone's 2nd, 4th, 5th, 7th or 8th house would be a nice thing to have. Having someone's Descendant on your IC or DSC would nice.IP: Logged |
