I really like him and his explanations. They make more sense to me than tropical astrology but unfortunately it's not as easy to research Vedic (for me) online. It doesn't stop me, but it's frustrating!

I don't even relate to my western and vedic signs but the nakashtras are very telling ime.

But I do relate to aspects between planets etc vedic does not use that.. the only fault but it is a more primitive system yet it's still very accurate..

but he did mention conjunctions, so thats the only valid aspect in vedic? thus no trines no sextiles or squares etc..

Right those are important too.

There are different types of aspects in vedic called drishti which is based on the houses each planet is located in but it's very vague.

yeah hanna!

hes witty and funny too, like a modern type with traditional knowledge on astrology. i like his delivery. thats how it supposed to be, not that many would like a person if he would preach in depth about astrology or religion and spirituality even, of that sort but be without humor.

i like people who bring forth knowledge are to the point and simple about it without beating around the bush. i can tell if a person is dishonest or a fraud when it comes to this and by watching his composure he does look sincere. its refreshing to watch his videos. and he does it for free, so he tries to help people which is a great plus.

vedic astrolgy in a true sense is rare indeed online.

ive first watched the videos on tropical placements and was like ''okay'' and then i watched the vedic and was like ''wow''!

this is actually the first time i come in contact with jyotish vedic astrology. does your chart change drastically in vedic? mine stays pretty much the same essentially but then more concise and less complex.

im still a cap sun but with a gemini moon and virgo rising.

What's a good site to have one's chart done? I have been googling and astrosage.com gives me 0° Libra Asc and every other site either 2° or 18° Virgo Asc.

My brothers also have 2nd decan risings and according to astrosage.com their ascs change to a previous sign but mine doesn't change.

For Vedic, subtract about 23.48 degrees from your Tropical placements to get your Vedic placements, no calculator needed.

What degree is your Tropical Ascendant?

Also Astrosage works excellent IMO.
Another site is Astrobix.

My Vedic placements fit me better than my Tropical placements.
Except for Venus in Virgo. It's actually like a mix of Libra and Virgo because I'm really shy in love, yet very romantic.

I also use both the house cusps from Placidus and Whole House from Vedic and integrate them together.
For ex. Uranus in the 6th for Placidus, and Uranus in the 7th for Whole Sign. So I use both houses. Like Uranus manifests itself as I'm attracted to eccentric types and I do daily things different and uniquely as well.

I found his video's interesting, and he's got a pretty likable persona.

Personally, I think both the tropical and the sidereal placements in a person's chart work in different ways. I think they're both different levels of the same thing in astrology. Why can't both work?

Vedic seems to be very predictive, and western is very psychology based.

I listened to a pod-cast one time where this one astrologer who works with both systems said the sidereal astrology is more distant and objective due to it's association with the constellations... The signs are associated with the constellations in sidereal (Something far from our physical location). The gist is that sidereal shows our life-overview, if we were to watch it form a birds-eye-view with a focus on external events and phases in our lives.

The astrologer in the pod-cast (can't remember his name) went on to say that tropical astrology is more subjective and personal then sidereal astrology. In tropical the signs are tied to Earth's seasonal cycle here on earth (The very place where we live our daily lives)... The Sun moves into one of the cardinal signs at the start of every season. He said that people tend to identify more strongly with the personality of their tropical charts, because tropical shows the moods, tendencies, and personal concerns, we experience as part of our lives day to day.

I agree with this perspective.

Our sidereal placements may show a vision of our life, and tendencies, from a more objective, distant point of view, with a focus on major events, and phases... If our life was observed in a matter of fact way, and someone complied a scientific report on it.

Our tropical placements may show a vision of our life as seen from a subjective, personal point of view, with a focus on emotional/psychological highs and lows, our unique experience of who we are as a person, and how we attach meaningful significance to the events that happen to us. Our Tropical chart show our life more as if it were a movie, complete with it's own soundtrack, filled with drama and feeling. The tropical chart reveals our personal experience of the saga of our lives, rather then a detached, factual description of our fate.

I could be wrong on some details, but this is my take on the two different systems.

I also love nakshatra's and think they're interesting and fun to explore.

Learning vedic astrology is so frustrating... I feel like i need a western to vedic dictionary anytime i try to read anything.

I think a lot of the difference between tropical vs vedic is in how the chart is read. Someone mentioned that there arent aspects in vedic astrology but there indeed are, but the names for them are different and associated with how many house placements away the other planet is, ie mars being 4 houses away from the sun is mars making a 4th aspect to the sun (I believe? correct me anybody if im wrong about any of this).

There is also a lot more significance placed on rulers of the houses. It gets much more complex and in depth than western astrology it seems, with layers upon layers of connections that can be made. While I don't personality identify much with my sidreal sign placements, when looking at the individual nakshatras that each of my planets are located in it sounds much more like my western placements but even more specific. It seems the interpretations for the signs are much more in depth than western because each sign is separated into 3 nakshatras, which are in turn separated into 4 padas.

Oh, and harmonic charts, which are known as like D4, D9, etc (4th harmonic, 9th harmonic), hold a lot more importance in vedic.

It's just not as easy to study because with western astrology you can just google some aspect placement in your chart and get a nicely written english interpretation for the aspect. With vedic there just arent that many good online resources to learn from, which is why I love KRS's channel.
Also, it seems like a lot of vedic astrology has been kind of perverted in a way to try and sell "remedies" and gemstones to people so I try not to pay attention to the negative interpretations that tell me all these horrible things are going to happen and that I need to wear a blue sapphire on my left pinky or something Lol.

12°Libra. Both astrosage.com and Astrobix say I am 0°Libra, so that's settled I guess.

Good site for working out which yogas one has??

i had just realised that i have wasted a year for what? artificial astrology. smh

i dont feel the need to explain especially since many of you have been years if not decades into astrology, whereas im just a rookie on this so dont blame me.

it is clear now that any article on tropical astrology which has depth is derived from true vedic astrology. i say true vedic becos not all the info out there are true vedic.

this guy deserves way more views, hes a nice dude and basically gives you a free reading of your planetary/house placements and more so dont whine.

im going to see what his books are about next.

you should compare his video on mars in libra and that with for example alyssa sharpe also on mars in libra who also make videos on youtube. and you will see which is exoteric and which is esoteric.
