I have seen people guessing Ascendant by asking people about their childhood. Is there any where I can read on this? I read some descriptions that Taurus rising tend to have relatively stable, happy childhood and that at least a parent is particularly indulgent towards the person. So I'm thinking besides the Mc-IC axis, it's also the 1st house? In that case, people with late degrees of certain signs for example, how would that applies? IP: Logged |

They may have been trying to guess IC, by knowing IC sign we can guess ASC easily (except the late degree ones).IP: Logged |

When I read about a Sagittarius IC, it sounds like a reading for a lot of Virgo SUNS I know. Although it does fit my Virgo Asc. Just saying it isn't always that cut and dry.Macauly Culkin (Virgo-Pisces) as Kevin in HOME ALONE is a perfect example. Sagittarius on the IC, according to Alyssa Sharpe, among other things is supposed to make you feel left out & different from the others. IP: Logged |

I'm asking because I read the description for my taurus rising and it discusses my childhood as well. I think it makes sense in that taurus is about material abundance and stability. I have seen some threads on LL where how one grows up is more than the IC... I'm wondering this. The description for my Leo IC is that I had to follow a lot if rules as a child and I needed/had to please others. This description differs a little bit from the abundance of taurus I think...It makes sense in that our sense if self us derived from how people treat us as we age .... Isn't it? Thoughts? I was actually nothing like my Leo Ascendant when I was young. I was only Virgoan/Geminian (Sun/Moon).Then about 4 years ago, my Libran/Leonine side activated. And this had nothing do with progressions, because my progressed Sun went into Libra when I was 5 or 6, and my Ascendant recently progressed into Virgo. (it's at 4 deg now) So Virgoan/Geminian/Libra/Leonine are now all prominent within my personality. Sorry, I do not feel like going into detail with my childhood because it's not even interesting, lol. But true to my Ascendant, I got more attention than I wanted, honestly. And I wasn't a show off or or even tried to get it. That's pretty weird, because that cannot be explained logically, but only karmicly, as I never looked for attention, but got it anyway. Even now, when I am with family and my younger cousins are there, I still somehow get more attention. And I actually try to get away from it, yet I get more from that. I am thankful for such a loving family, but my Gemini Moon needs space, that's all IP: Logged |

Thanks Mercurian Intellect. There are some threads about guessing Asc on here. Some folks mention if you have fixed risings then you had more stable childhood... Maybe I'm pursuing a lost cause IP: Logged |

Well I would say it was pretty stable. Unless what I said doesn't seem stable to people. I don't know, but it was fine to me IP: Logged |

Makes sense to me, actually.I was very much like my ASC when I was a kid - very active, very talkative, expressive and impatient (I have Gem rising opposite Mars). We used to move a lot as well, which reflects the Geminian inconstancy. I do have Cancer on the IC and it's often said that it makes the home environment quite unstable with lots of movement (the phases of the Moon changing and all). So both kinda fit. Although I can definitely see the ASC reflecting the childhood. My sister has Cap ASC and she was very quiet and obedient - the "perfect" child. And now we've both changed a lotttt. IP: Logged |
