I found:

http://www.astrococktail.com/hankar.html

Uranus and Mercury are generally key
players but the Moon is better to be examined as well.

in my case I have many learning troubles, as I've shared some on another thread but my stubborn will to keep trying to apply my mind might be thanks to my Mercury being after my Sun and my Moon is a higher orb -thus it might be a bit a Uranus quality if someone has a higher orb Moon. (thorough but slow, in my case). I need to read something over and over , might take 3x as long yet very in depth with my absorption of data.

No birth chart factors guarantee this. It is only indicated as a potential IF the person develops it.

The influences for development of intellectual intelligence (IQ) are Sun, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto upon Mercury. (I have four of these: Mars, Neptune, Uranus, Pluto).

Influences for emotional intelligence (EQ) are Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune acting upon the Moon. (I have 3 of these).

I'm counting all aspects, even challenging and minor ones. Even Einstein had Saturn conjunct (and contra-parallel) Mercury. He said himself that the reason for his ground-breaking discoveries in physics was not his superior intelligence, but in staying with a problem longer. That is the typical attitude of the Saturn-influenced strength of mind.

It reallllly depends on how you define intelligence.

Me, I define it as common sense. Even if you grew up on an isolated island, don't know how to read, but have common sense, then I think that's intelligence. That would include Mercury, Uranus, and Saturn possibly, but be careful with Saturn

uranus - mercury
uranus - sun

super smart
even psychic and predictive

----
mercury - mars

quick mind
good for sports
----

mercury/sun in aspect to the nodes:
not super smart or innovative, but the type who knows where they're going and thus there is much less mistakes made in decisions or efforts and energies scattered and wasted in the wrong directions
-----

I'd leave out aspects from neptune, jupiter and pluto to mercury, as they're more emotional:

mercury - neptune
prone to illusions
very artistic

mercury - jupiter
loud voices (even the trines)
see the big pictures and may be prone to mistakes for this reason
good motivational speakers

mercury - pluto
often nasty with words
prone to paranioa
good for dealing with the law and jobs which involve finding sneaky ways in things

mercury - saturn
I don't understand how this effects the mind, or how it can bring about intelligence; but the people with this aspect I met had unattractive and somewhat annoying voices..there can even be a speech disorder present

Mercury Saturn can bring discipline and or stamina to thinking.

Here's my Mercury square Saturn story. As a young child, I didn't say words right. I had speech therapy for it. In high school, I was still shy about speaking in public, so I joined Forensics (Debate club). I graduated being voted class speaker. Thank you Saturn.

And my voice was pleasant enough to get into college as a voice major... I think Venus trine both Saturn and ASC probably helped,

I heard that Mercury retro in natal chart can be troublesome for intelligence. Afflicted Mercury also. And progressed Mercury going retro, which I experience myself now - pure hell.

I consider myself fairly intelligent but I have progressed retro Mercury going on for 8 years already and I see serious decline in my mental capabilities.

Nataly I have Jupiter conjunct Mercury on the South Node and Uranus conjunct Sun and both sextile Mars. That combo got me into engineering, I would say my intelligence is on the logic and maths side, I have also learned to speak at very early age, I was just 15 months and able to speak full sentences.

I have Sun trine Uranus, Mercury square Neptune, Mercury conjunct Jupiter, Mercury trine Saturn, Mercury sextile Moon, Mercury sextile Mars, Mercury conjunct North Node, Mercury sextile Chiron and Mercury sesquiquadrate ASC. I'm not a genius but I do enjoy learning and I tend to ask a lot of questions.

I think the personal planets to Mercury are like the engine of intelligence and a mental agility. A lot of my family have sun conjunct Mercury and are mathematicians, calculators but the depth or application of that varies depending on outer planets.

The smartest people I know have both Uranus and Neptune influence. Uranus might be the electricity and connections but I think Neptune must lend a fluidity or space where those connections are more interesting, intelligent, conductive.

Also, quite often humour is intelligent so I think Jupiter must figure.

Wherever Chiron touches people seem to me to be very wise in that specific area regardless of other measures of intelligence

You mean the easy aspects between Mercury and Neptune?

Not even necessarily Neptune to Mercury. Sun to Neptune, I was thinking of specifically or planets in Pisces. I get Neptune can equally cause mental problems but I personally think those problems are a sign of intelligence but an intelligence that doesn't necessarily do well in society

Mental problems? What kind of mental issues? I have the square in with a 7 degree orb. I hope this doesn't mean I'm mentally ill like slow. Does this mean I'm not capable of learning?

the more aspect to mercury the more "talents" and "trouble" of course

mercury-moon: there is the capability to be aware of emotions in other and self.

mercury mars. speed..

mercury-venus: appreciation of beauty and some talent for communication. finding beauty in the shape of words, sentences, articulation of speech

mercury-jupiter: capability to see the big picture and do not get lost into details. the drawback (not into details and someties they are important)

mercury saturn: structure the mind, make it logic and do not buy into BS so easily. when someone has mercury jupiter combined with mercury saturn, that gives the stamina for the details that mercury jupiter hates so much

mercury uranus... lighting speed and thinking out of the box. not very logical and sequencial in communicating, but really get things in a crazy way

mercury neptune... capacity to see the connection between things that are apparent not connected. no wonder they are creative...

mercury pluto.. depth and passion and obsession. gives talent to dig into things of interest. whoever has this aspect do not like superficial answer. they want to understand something in depth and that is why detective work, psychology are good career for these folks.

mercury-sun: that gives an awareness to our own purpose, but i do not see that makes people more intelligent. so far, i have not met anybody with this sole aspect to be intelligent, unless some other aspects are in place.. it also gives an identification with the mind. the person feel the need to develop their mind as mercury is serving the sun purpose. but again, not necessarily gives the talent (my opinion of course)

I apologize if this was already mentioned.
Uranus in the 5th is a creative genius.
Anything Gemini, Aqua, Sag, Virg in the 5th with Uranus there and I think Mercury or the Moon aspecting it would also strengthen the IQ.

Also both Einstein and Tesla had Mercury in the 6th if I'm correct in my recall. As well I learned they both had interception charts when not looking at full system.

Esinstein had Uranus in the 3rd house - the natural ruler being Mercury. Not only does it lend to high intelligence, but natives with this placement also tend to be intuitive.

People with Sun, Mercury, Saturn, Pluto or Uranus in the 3rd tend to be quite smart.

I have Pluto in the 3rd house not really sure what that means though.

Jupiter conjunct mercury ( in leo) is in my chart and not sure what else but I did take an IQ test once but think maybe it was wrong, I scored 140 to 160. Thats like doctors and lawyer level. I have a very bad attention deficit I think, I lose focus easily but have a very active mind.

Jupiter conjunct mercury is suppose to be from what I read street smarts and book smart. The ability to apply the two. I always get told I have a lot of book sense but no common sense but then those same people that get to know me over time tell me that I am a lot smarter than I let on. lol .. I just never feel the need to prove myself unless it's to help someone out.
