This is about Venus square Neptune. Some parts of it may apply to similar energy (Venus 12th, etc). We’ll just have to see!
I have trouble telling the difference with Venus square Neptune and Venus in the 12th. By the way, I had the worst time concentrating while writing this!
(Sorry it’s so long! This aspect can have SO many things said about it!)

Venus square Neptune can present the person with some very difficult lessons. First, let’s take a quick look at the signs. Neptune rules Pisces. Pisces is very otherworldly, dreamy, intuitive and sensitive. Pisces has deep love for humanity.
Venus rules Libra (and Taurus). Libra is very much about beauty, balance, and partnership.

When you link these two with a difficult aspect such as the square then you get someone who wants an otherworldly, deep, idealistic love affair and anyone could be that person. The person with this aspect has an unrealistic view of love. They have a quest to find this love. It must be out there somewhere. This person sees almost anyone else as a potential partner. It really doesn’t matter if the target of their affections is in a relationship or not. To them, fate will find a way to bring them together. The attraction will be undeniable. Of course, this is not the case in reality, but the Venus square Neptune person doesn’t live in reality when it comes to love! When they’ve picked the object of their affection (or objects! It can happen!) then the dream of love becomes so persistent, so intense, so desired that it starts to play with sanity a little bit.

Another thing about the Venus square Neptune person is the word “no” scarcely exists in their vocabulary. When someone fancies them; if they are friendly, flirty, and even average looking then VSN (let’s shorten this to an acronym.) will very likely go for it. Again, this fantastic love could be anywhere! Flaws are completely ignored. Okay, well not exactly ignored, but they do become very insignificant obstacles. VSN very much believes that “love conquers all” and “love will find a way.” It’s destiny!
I should point out that if the rest of the chart supports things such as an outgoing personality and healthy confidence. Often these people are very charming! They might just charm the birds out of the trees! This dream of theirs is SO real to them that they really know how to sell at least part of this dream to others. Although they are losing touch with reality when it comes to love, they are quite sincere. This sincerity goes a long way with other people.

If a relationship does develop, pain can follow. Reality, which is to say these perceived flaws, comes staring them in the face. It could simply be that mine is in Virgo, but suddenly they can realize that it actually takes work. They really have a big nose, they steal all of the covers, their laugh is annoying, they like really stupid movies, and they’re a little too close to their brother. Okay I’m just joking about the last one!
Almost certainly, the VSN person begins to change. They see the other for what they normally would have seen them as had they not been clouded with dreamy love. Now, the VSN person begins to kill the dream that they sold to their partner. They don’t care as much. They are not as sweet as they used to be and both people suffer. The relationship goes downhill from there.

Because of this cycle and the VSN person search for love as well as charming personality, they usually have many relationships throughout their life. It’s a lesson that may leave a wake of heartache but over time it is possible for the VSN person to realize what they do. They can learn to be more discerning before entering into relationships. Another thing that is often tied to this aspect is cheating. However, I don’t believe that I would tie cheating to it. Is it possible? Certainly, but cheating involves many, many factors that go way beyond a single aspect.

These people are in fact very capable of having long, committed relationships. It just may take them several hard lessons to figure that out.

Deep Freeze,

All your articles on these placements have been great! I can really see your Gemini Moon at work (my Moon sextile Mercury makes me write the longest posts, too! )

I could also see you having a blog, if you were up to it. I'd definitely read it. All your articles have been interesting and with a lot of personality, as well as really focused on being accurate and objective.

So, keep it up!

I have Venus square Neptune and Venus square Uranus at a tight orb. My Uranus and Neptune falls in the 4th house in Capricorn. However, my Venus falls in the 7th house in Aries. To begin, im still trying to figure out how it applies to my life, to be honest. I will say that I attract zany people in general, but I haven't had those many relationships. That could be because of my Saturn in the fifth house (Pisces at 0 degrees). I heard That placment can cause some restriction in love matters.

And also, Nice article deepfreeze!

Thanks man! That's a big compliment!
I doubt myself all the time. But, I also know for certain that I don't know about enough aspects and placements to really start a blog.
Now, if I include blogs on all the crazy topics that my Gemini moon dips into... now we're talking!!

You're welcome! And that's very normal! A lot of people underrate themselves, myself included. It's healthy, to a certain degree. Keeps yourself in check. But, I can see you running an awesome astrology blog someday, once you feel more comfortable with all the placements.

However, just so you know, I've written a ton of the articles on my blog about my own articles and placements. The majority of the aspects articles are my aspects, the current 12th house articles are my placements, etc. You start off writing what you know! That makes it easier to understand placements you don't have, which is what I'm beginning to focus more on.

But, a blog on all sorts of random subjects would also be perfect for your Gemini Moon. I'm pretty sure blogging was invented for your Moon sign and the 1000 interests/thoughts/hobbies/new obsessions you guys have.

Do you know anything about Venus square Pluto? I would have loved to see you write about that aspect, you seem very insightful and knowledgeable with astrology.

Haha yesss, very much yes. Although in my case it's not tedious flaws like stealing covers, but more so "drinking problem" or "liar" LOL! I think Neptune squares to Sun or Venus (maybe Mars?) prevent people from seeing you clearly as well, or you subconsciously try to be what you think the other person wants and therefore lose your sense of self quite easily in love.

Very nicely done DeepFreeze!!!

You def pulled my card with this one. I used to be very idealistic about love and romance. Of course as I've gotten older I have a more grounded view. But the one part that hasn't changed much is my view that almost anyone can be a potential partner (of course if I deem them attractive and they "seem" to be a cool person). As far as saying no..yes I have that problem too. But I also attribute that to my moon opposing Venus, we often have a hard time saying no and will just fall for someone because they are showing interest without even asking ourselves if we're really interested in the person pursuing us in the first place. I am working on being more discerning though and not jumping at ever romantic opportunity that presents itself to me.

And last as for the cheating. I'll admit that yes I have cheated before (I also have my Venus in Pisces which is known to cheat as well).

Again great job on the write up!

Thanks!
Not sure if I do. I'll have to see if I know anyone closely with that and really think about it (separate that from other aspects)

Edit: turns out I've closely known a few and there is a theme (personal death/rebirth for love. Ie - stop drinking heavily and settling down. That sort of thing) but I don't know exactly what's in their minds.

Back in 1986, Robert Palmer had a hit song called Addicted to Love. The song had me hook, line and sinker back in the day cause I could deeply relate to the lyrics.

https://youtu.be/XcATvu5f9vE

This song is the epitome of Venus square Neptune.....
