Yes and the opposition nodal return, SN return according to what I've read can indicate karmic endings.I just became aware of what happened on my SN retrun.
I was 9, my step-dad had been very abusive, sadistically and eventually my mom left him. He had been stalking my mom and threatening to kill us to the point nobody would let us stay with them because they were afriad he was going to kill them also. We had no place to live.
Around this transit he finally decided it was time to do it, he was only going to kill my brothers and I so my mom would have to live with "what she'd done to us" it was his revenge of my mom leaving him a year earlier.
He was on his way to us, staying at a hotel when another man, a total stranger, stabbed him to death. On that day tr. NN was sitting on my SN and tr.Saturn and tr. Atropos was sitting on my natal NN
The tr. Sun was exactly opposed my Saturn, both square my Uranus/Lilith/Kaali/Pandora/Minerva conjunction
Tr. Mars/Venus were conjunct on my Pallas/Vesta in my 6th house opposed my unaspected virgo Moon/Dejanira/Child conjunction in my 12th house

I would also look for the SN return in my life, this has been the more active transit....a lot of dramatic huge change prompted from this transit. The 2nd SN return I had at 27.....August 11, 2003

Hate to be nitpicky but your South Node Return is not when the transit North Node is conjunct the South Node. Your South Node Return occurs at the same time as your North Node Return. Remember that these two angles are always in opposing signs. So, if you have a Scorpio North Node and the transiting Scorpio North Node crosses your NN, then the transiting South Node will be in Taurus and also crossing your SN.What you're talking about is a transit to your South Node, which can still be very significant. The transiting NN hitting your SN can be a great time to emphasize the positives of the SN, instead of its bad habits. But, it's not the same as your South Node Return. That's why I think people have the opportunity to either really progress or really regress when their North Node returns because the South Node is returning at the same exact time (often times, both happens). And this period is really emphasizing the necessity to balance this axis out. Natural skills (South Node) can also become stronger during your NN Return and more helpful than usual. But, if you overemphasize them, they'll hinder the progress you're making. For instance, when I had my Aquarius North Node Return years ago, I really became comfortable putting myself out there as a performer (South Node in Leo) like I hadn't before. I gained more confidence. But, since it was also my South Node Return, I also had to learn how to get over myself and my ego. I went through a pretty intense phase of self-absorption that I had to work through in order to start accessing more of my Aquarius North Node. ------------------

The Moon's nodes tells a fascinating story. Every nine years a new chapter is added.My Moon is in Sagittarius, and apparently this sign just want to be free. The details of my SN return at age 9 are heartbreaking. However I was set free. At every nodal conjunction or opposition since freedom has been the recurring theme. "go" has always been the bottom line, whether I was ready or not as happened when I was 9 years old. IP: Logged |

the89freespirit, That's a brilliant description, very accurate as always. During my NN return, when it was conjunct my NN exact, a new chapter in my life started which was very traumatic - it led to manifesting all the negative characteristics and circumstances of my SN and ultimately, 3 years later, led to me embracing my NN (without knowing anything about astrology then).
