Yesterday the sun was almost exactly square my 20 Taurus-Scorpio nodal axis, and everything was difficult.

One of my good friends has the reverse nodal axis as me, her NN is 24 Taurus, and yesterday was hell for her, and it's still going on (her daughter is in the hospital.)

I'm thinking, maybe the sun highlights the tension between the opposing signs, pressuring you to draw strength equally from both nodal points.

The transiting Sun, also, acts as a catalyst for setting natal aspects into hyper drive during various times of the year. i.e. Lets say you have the natal aspect Mercury conjunct Jupiter. During the course of one year this aspect will translate into Mercury square Jupiter a couple of times and Mercury trine Jupiter a couple of times. But, these influences are not normally felt until the transiting Sun crosses their path. When the transiting Sun does cross their path - the energy of the aspect is energized. If the aspect is trine, then you can talk your way into anything. If the aspect is square, then other people are not interested in what you have to say.

The nodes deal with the public at large. (can you sell yourself?). The transiting Sun represents one's ego dynamics. If the transiting Sun is square the node, then no - the public is not in your corner.
