Hi everyone,

I am new to very new to astrology and this forum. I have been trying to learn more about the astrology for the past couple of months however there is still plenty to learn.

Can somebody please explain to me what does Singleton planet mean? I read somewhere that is very important but I don't understand in what way.

I have Mercury in the 8th house in Aquarius, which is my only planet in the 8th house and the only planet in the Aquarius and in the air sign

What does that mean?

Thank you so much in advance!

Your Mercury is a Singleton by Element -- it is the only planet in a Air sign. There is various definitions for singleton in astrology.

Singletons can be strong, and you may lean on your Mercury more than normal, because it's the only planet pulling in your Air element -- which means you may concentrate on more Mercurian hobbies like writing, communicating, travel, business and sales, promotion and promoting, advertising, reading, books, transporting things etc. Mercury rules many things.

It is an easy-pickings factor for sign-based astrologers to theorize around. There is no particular significance to a so-called singleton.

What is significant are the aspects Mercury makes and its general meaning for sign it is in, Aquarius, which is a placement for broad, multi-layered, innovative thought and communication.
