theastrofiend: Aries vs Aquarius: Who is more of an independent rebel?
http://theastrofiend.blogspot.com/2020/04/aries-vs-aquarius-who-is-more-of.html

I'm an Aries so I naturally think in comparison and competition. Aries seems warlike and always ready to compete ( that is true) but honestly we are competing with ourselves. We are just using you to do so. You are a placeholder for ourselves.

That aside when I was writing about La Corona I mention a lot about Aquarius (Saturn) and with it now being Aries season I can't help but think about the similarities and differences between Aries and Aquarius.

In my Aries way of thinking its versus. Who is more of an independent rebel? Spoiler of course I am gonna pick Aries. Si, yes yes I'm biased and competitive so Aries must win.

Aquarius is a more evolved, detached, wiser, more boring, less energetic, and possibly sociopathic version of Aries. This is a low key but high key drag of Aquarius. Sorry bish.

Anyways Aries and Aquarius are similar and different in many ways. Plus as someone who has both Aries and Aquarius planets and energies in her can relate. I thought I'll explore these differences.

The differences between the two

Aries as the first sign. As a Cardinal Fire sign is much more freer in terms of nature and personality to be an independent rebel. Aries as a Cardinal sign is a self starter, a path layer, an explorer. It's excitable, passionate and full of energy. It doesn't have limits or songs of experience because it is a baby. It doesn't know any better but to be itself. Aries phrase is I am. We exist we are here, we don't have to develop because we don't have the wisdom of living life to interfere with our ego. That's probably a main reason why the Sun is exalted in Aries. Its not inhibited or repressed. It hadn't have a chance yet to become that way. Plus with Mars as its ruler god of War it is not confined by pleasantries or social graces.

As opposed to Aquarius. Aquarius is the second to last sign. It's a fixed Air Sign. Its free (air) but limited in its fixed quality. Its learned, experienced, highly intelligent and low key psychic. Its the 11th sign so it's older, less energetic, sometimes bitter but wiser and detached. Its on its last hurrah before it gives away its energy to Pisces who will dies.

Its Dumbledore both protecting and antagonizing Harry Potter. An old wizard who knows it's time is almost up.

To repeat what i said in my other post

Aquarius is a rebel outsider (Uranus) but at the same time is a social air sign that needs to communicate. Aquarius fights for freedom and independence but knows that it is not possible because we are individuals in a community (Saturn).

Aquarius swings between its rebellious flighty phases (Uranus & Air sign) and its acceptance/social phases (Saturn & air sign). Aquarius doesn't choose. It doesn't need to balance between the 2 natures because it lives within itself. This is the fixed nature. The quality that maintains and manages what Aries started. It doesn't need to start (Cardinal Aries) and doesn't need to move or change (Mutable). Aquarius needs to be.

Aries and Aquarius rebels in different ways and for different reasons.

Aries rebels because it can, it will and your ***** ass won't stop it. It wants to and if you try to stop it, violence is not far. Rebel without a cause. Aries is independence for independence sake. It's individuality and rebellion for individuality and rebellion's sake. Aries is the cause. Aries doesn't need a reason. Rams don't need a reason to ram, it's it's nature.

Aquarius rebels because it is a necessary evil. Individuality is important and socializing and standing up for society is also important.

Aquarius is a Rebel with a cause

Low key this is (ironic and iconic because of Aquarius James Dean starmaker old Hollywood movie, Rebel Without a Cause). More ironic and synchronicitistic because Aquarius Sun James Dean has an Aries Rising and Uranus.

Aquarius is a rebel with a cause. Aquarius with it's fixed, experienced nature knows how life works and knows you must fight with like minded people to defend and maintain your social and societal independence.

Similarities between Aries and Aquarius are it's ego and the way they express their independent rebellious nature.

Both are confident and unapologetic and unshamed of showing and expressing their individuality.

Aries and Aquariuses have huge egos. Ego is not a bad thing, its who we are. Both Aries and Aquarius have a presence (ego).

These signs sextile each other so they are friends and will support each other's similarities and differences without it being much of a threat or problem.

Overall both Aries and Aquarius are different kind of independent rebels. You can't truly compare it and that is ok. Comparison is the thief of joy and Aries and Aquarius is too fly to be competing. We can all shine.

All this aside I still think Aries is the winner. Haha, i had to!

Happy Aries season. Please everyone be safe during this difficult time. This too shall pass.

It’s hard to tell because I have Aries sun 11th house. With Aquarius Mars n. Node and MC.

I like the comparison you have to the two signs.

I feel like some Aries are more prone to being overbearing compared to Aquarius. My fiancé’s mom is an Aries and has a reputation for being over bearing in their family. She is the oldest family member now, so it comes with the territory a little.

One of my friends has Aries moon and it’s overbearing how much attention see needs. Blows up my phone.

I have a friend with Aries Asc and how a sign that does not like to be bossed around they sure can be bossy.

My niece has Aqua moon and does not take being bored well, she loves to dominate conversations when adults are talking to each other too.

With my pre k students I notice the Aries girls will be outgoing and firery and sass the boys and the girls are more chill and quiet with a sensitive side.

A little about me
*i get super fired up when I have extra caffeine intake
*unless you are paying my bills it’s none of your business what I spend my money on.
*i can’t stand when people behave entitled to my kindness
*if someone is not nice to me I will exclude them, and sometimes the person is actually shocked and bummed out.
*at work only my supervisor should be telling me what to wear
*sometimes I won’t tell someone no to their face, but I will go off and do what I want
*i get super into politics when I have a lot of free time on my hands.
* I like post, pop, and folk punk music
*when I was 17 I decided that my parents are not in charge of me anymore. Mentally not legally
*i can laugh with my loved ones if they think I look odd that day but won’t change for them

I have my SN in Aries and nothing in Aquarius. I do have Uranus conjunct Moon exact with a wide orb conjunction to my ASC. It's this placement that makes me independent. I'm still a rebel without a cause.

I've been independent since I was 14, but when I got to 10, I couldn't figure out why I couldn't live alone already.

I could never depend on another human for anything and relieved I never have to experience this as when I did it was awful. They thought they could entirely control me, never again!

I do what I want, when I want. I am feircely independent.

@Stawr: Interesting! My Aries Sun, Mars in Aquarius sister (or brother idk)

Yes Aries energy can be overbearing. I have known plenty of Aries moons. I like them but ....... As an Aries Sun I understand it though.

To be honest I have expereinced a few Aquarius energy people and they can be very controlling. Not overbearing but controlling.

I’m a lady. I really appreciate my mars being here. I love that my mars trines my sun too. In a nut shell I don’t like telling people what to do, but I also don’t like being told what to do.

Yes my 5 year old niece is not the chill reserved type of Aquarius. Smart. Argumentative.(I know some five year olds will go through this phase where they act like they don’t want to have a good time because it’s your idea lol) Thinks she wears the pants in the family. She needs constant interaction, which can be a challenge when I am watching her 2 1/2 year brother and 11 month old sister too. It’s like if you don’t give her the remote control or or iPad she cannot handle me changing her siblings diaper, or if one of them is having a tantrum. I lost my composure today and said can’t you just play with a toy or something for two minutes!? She has so many toys too! They all need attention and we are all cooped up. I get it. But it’s like I just sat and painted with you while the other kids did their own thing, come on! She really dislikes solitary play more than the average child. She only likes solitary play when she is getting into the soaps and moms things. Cannot stand boredom one tiny bit.
I caved in to her tv watching habit today, so I wasn’t too mentally and emotionally exhausted to typed my paper tonight when I got home.

She does very well at school academically, and once she is around other girls her age it’s a break for me. I know she will be the life of the party someday, she is super into expressing her self through dance, art, and outfits.

Yes I really hit it off with my Aries moon friend for years, but my Scorpio moon needs some space and privacy. It got in emotional vampire territory for me. Hate to just blame it on the moon. (I certainly don’t)But I was starting to see her be impulsive, impatient and selfish on an emotional level with me. It got to be off putting. (I know a lot can be said about my moon on a emotional level) while I’m trying to be present with other things and people she would want to know when I would be done, constantly. It got to be intrusive to my lunar scorponic nature. She just blows up my phone , I can’t take it anymore...to the point of resentment.
I feel like the good traits with her on an emotional level is supportive with no hidden agenda.

You have a Scorpio moon too!!!! Heyyyy

That's the same with me. Don't tell me what to do, and I won't tell you what to do.

What's your friend's sun sign?

I understand your sentiments with your Aries moon friend.

I think Aries moon is different depending on the element the sun sign is in.

Earth with Aries moons are definately more tolerable and actually enhances their Sun signs.

I know so many Leos with Aries moons and I just can't deal lol.

Oh my god no way! Some Sun, Mars and Moon!

Her sun sign is Cancer. (my closest friends are often earth and water signs)
So it's like clingy + impulsive
She has her Mars in Leo.
So clingy + impulsive + needs attention = overly attached.

Her chart is mainly water and fire. No air and earth(?) to give a blend of detachment.
It was fun to talk to her at first, and there was healthy space. Started talking more. It got annoying when I become a teacher, and it seemed like she began to contact me even more frequently, like why would you do that to someone who is so busy, and then talk to them about how much free time ya have?! Pushed me to the point where I had to tell myself "you don't have to answer your phone!" Holy annoying! I can actually tolerate talking to my sister multiple times a week. (Gem asc, Libra Sun, Virgo Moon) We are close but still have space.

Kind of glad I have a blend of all elements in my chart. I have a big planet cappy stellulem. Taurus Merc and Gemini ASC to give me a detached side.

I could see how we would be drawn to each other. Our mars signs are polar opposites. She has a Cancer stellulum (sun venus mercury) I and my cappy (saturn, neptune uranus)

But oh my god we don't need to talk everyday to be friends! People move, change jobs, get in relationships, have kids, get new hobbies. As long as I don't get in a fight with the person I still consider them my friend.

I had a childhood friend with Aries Moon Taurus sun, we had lots of play dates in second grade. When she became a young adult, I met up with her and realized holy cow she has a lot of guy friends! I could see that with the moon placement.

I also have the hots for Micheal Shannon who has Aries moon. He became my favorite character on Boardwalk Empire. He has a bit of Virgo in his chart and seems to often play characters who try to play by the rules but then looses his sh1t and becomes wild. LOL
