Entries are now open for the Second Annual LindaLand Christmas Cookie Contest,sponsored this year by Starving Bachelor Enterprises.

To get you rolling, here is a shot of last year's winning entry.

The talented and ambitious lady who took first place is a Sun Cancer, hardly a surprise to those of you familiar with Kitchen Astrology. If you guessed her Venus in Gemini, you are correct (take note of the wide assortment of goodies).

If posting images poses any problem, contestants are of course welcome to send the real thing. Shipping address upon request via e-mail exchange - you know that routine..

Hurry now and show us your work. Don't let the important people in your life starve this Season. Get out there in the kitchen and break out the eggs, sugar, flour, nuts, chocolate - whatever it takes to bring home the ribbon.

I leave it to the gifted analysts among you to guess the important placements in the chart of the person who put this rich assortment together.

Hint #1: note the quaint art on the cookie tin's lid. What sign is noted for warm and fuzzy?

Hint #2: certainly you didn't miss the heavy chocolate accent – peanut clusters, layered whatever, and Hershey kisses. And what sign would think of embedding pieces of candy cane in sugar cookies?

Mirage, you hit the proverbial nail on the head. That Currier & Ives cookie tin entry was indeed submitted by a Sun Cancer whose Mars rests in Taurus.

Here is the only other entry in this year's contest.

Cookie lovers will want to note the beautiful assortment, luscious frosting and carefree attitude about sugar content. That centerpiece is a bag of homemade peanut brittle.
