I was looking at Yoko Ono and John Lennon's composite to find that they have my favorite composite chart setup going on. But very unimpressive synastry. Proves what I'm saying. With this composite setup, the synastry doesn't even matter.

The pattern goes: composite sun aspecting venus or being conjunct jupiter in composite combined with moon in negative aspect to venus in syn/comp and composite venus trine pluto. - second best is venus negative aspect pluto instead of the trine.

Yoko Ono and John Lennon's composite: Sun semisextile venus = sun conjunct venus.
Mercury semisquare venus = Mercury conjunct venus

^ Love stellium.

Moon semisquare venus with Venus trine pluto.

Sun biquintile pluto.

This fits almost all of the requirements in my ideal compatibility list, except for Double Whammies, moon in aspect to pluto, and all planets being conjunct. However, because I consider sun conjunct venus or jupiter in composite combined with moon in negative aspect to venus and venus trine pluto the most lifechanging setup, it doesn't even matter that they don't have the rest of the stuff on the list.

Richard Burton and Liz Taylor, known soulmates, also had the love stellium with sun square pluto, moon sesquiquadrate venus, and venus biquintile pluto. This is very similar to Yoko and Lennon's composite chart except that instead of venus and pluto being trine they are biquintile, and moon opp pluto is also additionally present, probably adding to the passion that the biquintile would take away in comparison to the trine of venus and pluto.

It's late. I will add more examples tomorrow. Good night.

Jesse James and Sandra Bullock clearly had a strong connection, but I wouldn't necessarily call them "soulmates" after what Jesse James did to her. Notice that the stormy relationships like this one and Richard Burton and Liz Taylor also had composite Sun afflicted by Uranus, in addition to the composite moon as well.

Their synastry is pretty mediocre as well just as with the above two couples. But in composite they have the love stellium with sun square pluto and venus trine pluto. They're lacking moon in aspect to venus in either synastry or composite. Their connection does seem much less powerful than the above two couples. Maybe the lack of that aspect is why?

Paul and Linda Mccartney, whom I would call soulmates, but of a less intense kind than Burton and Taylor and Yoko and Lennon had a composite Love stellium conjunct pluto, with moon sextile pluto and moon semisquare venus. There is the negative aspect between moon and venus again, and here we have a much closer couple than Jesse and Sandra.

Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey have a composite love stellium square pluto with composite moon sextile venus. The sextile is less intense than the square or opposition. Venus square pluto is more problematic than the trine. But, it seems like the same aspect pattern is still there for these two lovebirds as well.
The reason they have a love stellium is because when the composite chart at astro.com shows "+Opp. house" that means that that planet can be placed either in its current location or on the opposite side of the chart. Since the composite consists of midpoints, sometimes these problems come up. The sun on the opposite side of the chart would place it in a love stellium.

So far, Yoko and Lennon were the closest and most harmonious couple. Is it coincidence that they had the compelling square between moon and venus and the harmonious trine between venus and pluto?

Another thing to look at is that the stormy couples had composite sun afflicted by uranus. (The Quintile is a positive aspect, so in Cannon and Carey's composite it is not an affliction). Also, the most obvious thing in common, something they ALL have in common, is obviously the love stellium. But we have already established the importance of that, I think. So that's besides the point.

Not agreeing on the bit about synastry, but the Moon-Venus-aspect, esp. as square, semisquare or even conjunction keeps popping up in composite. I noticed that as well.

Hmm...like Ceridwen I can't say I'm in total agreement.

Pluto in harsh aspect to luminaries (square/opposition) is usually a nightmare. It is one of those shorter, but harsher karmic relationships that change people in a bad way (cheating/abuse/staling) IME. Burton, Bullock etc. illustrate it well.

Mariah and Nick will probably fall under the same torment.

I disagree that Yoko and Lennon are more soul-matey than McCartney's -- they're the Gold standard. They're also lacking the dreaded pluto square/oppositions, especially to luminaries.

Other possible soulmate couples:

Robert Browning - Elizabeth Barrett Browning (one of my favourite, as I feel so immensely in tune with their story)

Paul Newman - Joanne Woodward

Johnny Cash - June Carter Cash

Spencer Tracey - Katherine Hepburn - possibly

Laurence Olivier - Vivien Leigh: possibly more like the stormy karmic soulmate pairings with a lot of pain involved

same for Diego Rivera - Frida Kahlo

Pierre and Marie Curie (Jourdry - Pressman mentioned them in their book as twinflames)

William Randolph Hearst - marion Davies

Burton/Taylor and Bullock/James only had comp sun opposite pluto. Cheating and instability is associated with uranus...both had Sun and/or moon uranus composite afflictions.

And Nick and Mariah have been going strong for a long time now and seem like they are very happy. They have sun and venus both square pluto, but no negative uranus aspect. I blame uranus as causing the instability, not pluto.

Pam An and Tommy Lee had a love stellium with moon trine venus and moon afflicted by uranus yet again, and pluto. Their relationship was very on and off and tormented, similar to the uranus pattern shown by Burton/Taylor and James/Bullock. But, again, uranus was present.

My parents have composite venus square pluto and have been happily married for over 25 yrs.

I think that when an entire love stellium is squared by pluto, the synastry really matters. Oftentimes, if the synastry is not romantic, the two people will not even be drawn to each other, or better said, they will, but will be very wary and distrustful. Nick and Mariah have the best synastry of any of the above charts. Very nice synastry. Any outer planet squaring an entire love stellium, I think, is going to block the expression of it so much that good synastry has gotta be there, I guess.

Below is Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's composite

Yoko Ono and John Lennon had a pretty Uranian themed composite and she let him sleep with other women.

I do agree that Uranus is trouble

Saturn breaks apart something which no longer works. Pluto breaks apart to rebuild, transform and renew. Uranus destroys trust which is the foundation of a healthy relationship.

RAS,

I know this is a thread for celebrities but I'm wondering about what you think of a few composite charts I have - of people who are not celebrities but who have been together for at least 15 -20 years. So I'm not sure if I should post them here, just curious because they don't seem to fit the formula and I'm wondering why you think they have lasted so long.

If you did that depending on the parameters you used, you can have my husbands and our data...we have Moon semisequadrate Venus and Venus sextile Pluto...we actually have a kite in our composite. It a pretty beautiful composite! And our Synastry is so so in my opinion. We are very much inlove after 8yrs.

I think these might be soulmates, who are actually in or were in a stable relationship:

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson,
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett,
Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi,
Sarah Michelle Geller and Freddie Prinze, Jr,
Michelle and Barack Obama
Ronald and Nancy Reagan
Micheal J Fox and Tracy Pollan
Kirk Cameron and Chelsea Noble
Bill and Melinda Gates
Steve and Laurene Jobs

I would say these are ones that are loving but faithful and not publically vicious or filled with pain.

Well I am not sure composite is more relevant than synastry. Composite chart after all is fictive, not real. You should check davison chart though.

and are you sure about birth time? All those composite sun in 2 house - it's strange. 2 house composite sun has nothing to do with love relationship, don't you think?

I like your choices, these are all really nice, stable, long lasting relationships. Another couple I really like is Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban.

RAS I posted the grupovenus synastry aspects with my charts for reading in Personal Readings. Just a heads up.

Also just thought of a soulmate pairing: Wallis Simpson and Edward VIII, he abdicated the throne for her.

Agree here. Esp on the Lennon vs. McCartney relationship.
