I have moon in taurus(I've read it's moon's home there so it's a good placement, sociable oriented, financial skills, emotionally intelligent), moon square venus(I've also read that despite being a square, it's a good aspect in some ways). Moon trine Saturn(emotional maturity)

But I also have moon in 12 house. My question is, does that take away from anything else moon offers me?

Not sure. But Moon in 12th is sensitive to a point of being psychic.

Moon is community. And the 12th is the greater public. So the Moon in 12th is the type to make the greater public a part of their family or inner community.

This means moon in 12th empathizes with all people from all walks of life. And this can include absorbing their feelings to a point where they can't define where they end and others begin.

So moodiness can result or excitability etc. Depending on where their emotions are absorbing.

So unless the individual becomes consciously aware of this, their mind(moon) can feel chaotic(12th). And this undermines the Moon in steady Taurus effect.

Does this at all sound familiar to you?

No, of course not. All portions of its placement and its aspects weigh in together. Nothing cancels out something else. However, some positive factors may allow you to counter-balance the negative ones, especially if you consciously decide to do that.

In the astrological tradition in India there are 6 different ways of rating a luminary's or planet's strength plus the composite of all of them called Shadbala. I use this in my work now because rather than attributing dominant good or bad qualities to any one of those ratings, it combines all of them into a single rating. In western astrology typically we see only interpretive notions attributing strength or weakness to placement by sign, aspect, house -- that's only 3.

It's better than home sign it's in Exalted position which means best placement for the moon.
