What would you expect to see in a natal chart of a person who prefers country over city life?

Or someone who's come from the country, went to live in the city and wants to move back into the country again?

I think this is a very subjective question based on what type of Rural Vs. Urban Environment your in.

Remember there's Rural poverty and Urban poverty there's also Rural Wealth Vs. Urban Wealth.

With that said I think people with Taurus, Virgo would pick a rural setting as they have a strong resistance to change.

Leo placements tending to be more urban wanting to see the world for more then what it is.

Julianne Hough has always said moving to the city was the best career move she's ever made.

I'm on the fence, I've seen some poor rural towns and I've seen some slightly better off rural communities.

Same with cities, there's poor cities and wealthy cities.

I'm Gemini sun so I spend half my time living right in the downtown core and half the time at my Cancer Parents retirement farm, I maximize what you can get in both.

One thing I hate is Suburban living its the worst combination of being in the country or city.

I tend to prefer the country side for home, city side for work and partying and hanging out ofcourse.

i was born/grew up in nyc, moved to the country in my early 20's then back and forth for years between here (rural setting) and nyc

they both have their perks and i like different **** about both, but tbh given my substance abuse issues it's generally safer for me to live in a rural area so i prefer it in that sense

i binge harder and on worse **** in the city, always, even when i go back to visit i tend to slip into binging whereas i can be sober more often in the country even if access to drugs remains the same

not sure what astrologically would point to that or if it's more a matter of transits

i have a virgo sun but i can enjoy change, sometimes it feels necessary to step away and do something completely different and see how things go

i would be equally ok with moving around my whole life as i would with settling down somewhere, if my guitar and birds are around i'm good and i'll find stuff to enjoy anywhere

i'm not particularly rigid about most things and find that different things make me happier depending on where i'm at in life

I grew up mostly in villages, on the outskirts of a big city (mostly just outside of London). So, we had the advantages of buses and trains everywhere, and small towns/knowing our neighbours, and so on. We could take a train, and go to London, which wasn't that far. I miss that.

Where i've lived for years, here in Ohio, people used to ride their horses around here, in the street, then cut through the woods behind our house. It's a 10-15 minute drive to a small local town, and others dotted around, to get to the library, a few food places. It's closer to thirty minutes, to get to a small city like Akron, an hour to Cleveland. I don't like being stuck in the middle of nowhere, but I like coming back after we've been in the city - back to the quiet.

I used to hate moving around so much, and didn't want to move here, but I figured we'd be gone soon enough. Nope...

I wanted to move to the Hudson Valley, liked the look of a place called New Paltz.

I live in the city. I've just spent the last few weeks in the country. I have never slept so well in my life. Not another person around me for kilometres.

I love the peace and stillness so much. My first night back home in the city, I tossed and turned all night so had to take a sleeping pill the next night so I could get some sleep.

I wish I could live alone in the middle of nowhere with no one around me.. I'm trying to make it a reality.

I'd rather jump on a plane and have a city hit once in a while though.

No virgo in my chart but I do have Sun and Mercury in Taurus.

that's pretty funny because i love new paltz and i actually almost moved there about 5 or 6 years ago

my brother went to the college there when he was in school to be a teacher (he's a sag sun, so it's stereotypical enough)

there's this great audubon society nature reserve there that i love because you almost never run into people there, but it's really peaceful and beautiful

the rail trail there is nice, but there's always people on it

that's really funny that we both thought about going there

If Uranus is given emphasis by placement and/or aspects there will be greater draw to urban environments where one can participate in collectivist living, even if that is loosely defined as simply urban living. Similar for Jupiter.

Lunar, Saturn influences are what draw one more to less densely peopled and more traditional rural or small town environments. Sometimes Neptune.

It's a combination of planetary influences that can show in signs and planets. Lots of us have mixed bags of these, as in my own chart. I was born in an urban environment and lived in large cities (Austin & Houston, TX). Later spent nearly a decade living on rural farm property just outside a very small town. I prefer a small town/rural environment with mountains and ocean. Even though I live in a big metro environment I can see mountains often and am a bit over and hour from the coast.

People's preferences are also influenced by sensitivities to things that turn them off to very urban environments. That's earth/water factors: Saturn, (Venus), Moon, (Neptune). I'm relatively satisfied because of the nearness to hills and forested parks. This is very important to me. Otherwise, I'd want to be in an area denser in forest.

Greater dominance of Jupiter & Uranus prefers more buzz, collective mind, more opportunities to satisfy restlessness.

I grew up in the middle of nowhere. No town, no zip code, not even a post office. Would have to drive an hour to get anywhere with one. It's freeing to be in a place where you can literally be whoever you want and do whatever you want without long lines or fighting traffic. But it was very isolating and a few traumas later, I found it panic-inducing and ultimately unhealthy for my PTSD.

I live in a town now, which has its ups and downs (see: people). But I'm healthier when I have regular social contact with some people and I'm not completely isolated. I can drive 15 minutes and be in a city. I flirt with the idea of moving to a bigger city, but I like having a quiet little oasis in my backyard. I'm not ready to give that up, yet.
