Hi all, so I've recently learned of the term cazimi or "in the heart of the sun". Do you have cazimi in your chart, or do you know anyone with that natal conjunction?

My natal Sun, Mercury, and Jupiter are all conjunct in 10th house Pisces; I believe my Mercury is combust while Jupiter is cazimi, please correct me if I'm wrong.

SUN: 4 Pisces 51'10"
MERCURY: 5 Pisces 58'36"
JUPITER: 4 Pisces 36'32"

I only see articles talking about Mercury and occasionally Venus cazimi, but I haven't found much with Jupiter? I guess I'd like to know more about it, or really the significance of Jupiter/Sun conjunction. I feel like Jupiter cazimi Sun would bring good luck - idk if I'd really consider myself a lucky person, though...

I've read with Sun Cazmi it can burn off or dull other energy. No idea how true that is.

Mine was a winter Sun/Moon and due to colder, darker night sky I tend to think each case may differ.
In yours Jupiter is huge. He might create a shadow over the sun. I'm only offering opinion. I'm a pedestrian star reader.

Thanks for the reply! My impression from the articles I'd read was that the "burning or dulling" of energy seems more combust than cazimi? From what I remember, most articles said cazimi is an auspicious placement, the exception to the rule - rather than burning under the king's presence (conjunction), you're sitting in their lap, reaping the benefits. All in all it seems like an intense placement to have, but I'm not familiar enough with each of the planets to understand which facets of them would be...I guess influenced by the sun and vice-versa.

Do you mind elaborating what you mean when you say Jupiter is "huge"? Are you literally referring to the fact that it's overlapping with the sun in my chart, is there some kinda negative connotation to that?

Wow .. I'm sorry I think
I got those confused. Yes, Cazmi is benefic.
Jupiter, I think of as Huge > large, expansive and doing as you said will likely bring much blessing.

I don't have this in my chart...but I've seen it play out with other people.

When the Sun/planet aspect is close...the first thing I notice about these people is the "vibe" of that planet... So for example.. Sun/Mercury can give off a Gemini vibe.. and it can also give off a Mercury in Leo vibe. There is definitely a blending of the two planets... with the Sun being the stronger of the two.. and really spotlighting that planet.

I don't see the planet as weakened (although I know that's one theory!)... I see it as being in the "centre of attention"...

In most astrological readings.. the ascendant/rising is portrayed as the "face we show the world".. the way we come across on first impressions etc..
But I would say that a person with a cazimi planet - will also, to a great extent, come across as that particular planet/its sign and house position.

When the planet isn't exactly cazimi.. and it is positioned at a greater distance, in the same sign... It is still strengthened by the Sun.. but this is not so obvious and "loud", if that makes sense.

In your chart - Having Sun/Mercury/Jupiter conjunct in Pisces... what stands out most here is Jupiter, because Jupiter is dignified in Pisces. You probably have a Sagittarius vibe.. You might be great with languages.. and be able to easily interact and relate to a wide variety of people from many different cultural backgrounds. Do you like to travel? Do you come from a multi-cultural family?
All these Sagittarian things could ring a bell... Maybe also higher education.. teacher/student/researcher...

My son has an exact cazimi in scorpio. He's only 4 years old so I'm not sure how it's going to play out.

Sun 24° 54'52
Merc 24° 54'16

@MoonMystic Thanks, I'll check out that link!

@Odette Thank you for the comprehensive response! It's funny because Gemini is my ascendant house LOL, so I have a lot of Jupiter/Mercury influence it seems.

idk if I'm great with languages, but I'd generally say I get along with most people from a variety of backgrounds (now that I think about it, though, I get along with a lot of Sagittarius suns lol). I LOVE travelling even though I don't travel often, and I do come from a multicultural family - mother from a different country than father.

I also have a lot of 9th House planets (Uranus, Neptune, Venus, Moon). It's interesting since 9th house/Sag tends to point to higher education, but I'm in college and have had quite a negative experience with it. idk why, although my natal Pluto is in Sagittarius...

That's an amazing conjunction. It represents talent probably inherited from your father. You can be really sensitive but also embody the greatest aspects of Pisces which include connecting with God.

I do not think they are something one really wants, not that people can help it. In other words, the energies of so many different things are too close and the person does not have enough detachment.

I have written many articles on Mercury/Sun cazimis. From doing many, many charts, I see people take things way too personally with this, so I think it is very hard.
