How many topics in life would we seek to achieve within the NN? How should I see this area of my natal? Mostly career or might be overall success in happiness ?

No, absolutely not. North Node indicates the direction for best soul growth. Look at sign, house, aspects for what its position implies. Don't try to turn it into a career category or vocation.

Lunar Nodes play into who we are attracted to because of unfinished business (karma), soul mates, etc. The Lunar Nodes represent ALL aspects of our past and future in soul development. But it is never based all on the N.Node sign alone.

My wife's N.Node at near 8° Capricorn is conjunct my (4th house) Moon at 11CAP43. Her Sun at 15° Gemini is square my N.Node at 10° Pisces. Her N.Node is sextile mine ... among other inter-aspects.

It could be any of them. It is an individual pursuit based on your own soul growth.

It bleeds into more things than career or any named categories. It is about developing/expressing qualities of the soul that may have been forgotten or sacrificed in human living for survival or adaptation purposes. If a career change helps with that, then so be it, but it is not 'career'.

The Lunar Nodes are the changing point on the ecliptic (Sun's path) where the Lunar path crosses it. It represents how we bring the will of the soul (Sol, sun) into habituations and emotive living as human beings (Moon). So the south end/descending node shows past and more familiar patterns to outgrow (not necessarily leave behind, but not allow to limit us) and the north end/ascending node shows where ascension lies -- or greater overall expression of the soul in human form.

It seems like there is some confusion here regarding the meaning of the north node. It is where you need to work, yes, but it isn't necessarily "work" as your paid services or career, unless the NN is in the 6th or 10th house, or it is in Capricorn or Virgo.
Where the NN is found is where you need to balance past experience and aptitude with your present goals. The south node is a pattern repeated so many times that it turned into excess, and so needs balancing, and through its opposite, the north node, the direction in which you need to go in order to achieve your destination is being determined. It is always something new to us. We need to adapt to new behaviors and new patterns, opposite and complementary to the ones we're used to, and through that effort being made we find our satisfaction and our fortune.
I would say that NN in Pisces in the 3rd house would say you were some kind of strict teacher or philosopher, that this was your inclination for many lives. You have experience in work and dutiful service, and you had a certain perspective which was, in a way, your security. In this life you are thrown into uncharted waters and you need to let go of the know-it-all attitude you had in the past and surrender to the unknown, as you learn the value of faith and go-with-the-flow, and through assimilating new knowledge that used to be foreign to your life perspective, new ways of communicating and sharing high ideas and ideals with others are being opened in front of you. You don't need to totally throw away Virgo behind, as you can definitely take advantage of your power of discernment and purity of mind to help you while adjusting to the new world in which you need to swim.
You can also back up any communication you have with the personal integrity and higher attunement you've earned through so many lives, and so your words or any other way in which you deliver thoughts, ideas and the like, would be charged with true ideals and convey a deeper layer of meaning and truthfulness.
