Back On the Grid finally! While the southern U.S. was taking stock of their damage and dead, Northern Mi was hit with a March snowstorm not seen before. The 24 in wet snow and winds took down our trees, roofs and all power lines. A state of emergency was declared and it took 4 days to dig the road out and 6 days to get power turned back on. 10 below temps turned to 50 degrees and massive melting/flooding followed to create more havoc.
We lost so much and it will take months to restore and replace... But during the weather event, we were so gratefull to be alive and know we will recover!! So many here and in the south lost so much, including lives, so my prayers to those and may the healing and recovery be speedy. It is good to be back!!! What was the road out. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

Wow, I feel guilty having all these early spring flowers and bees all around. Glad you're okay. ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." I had no idea. I'd been wondering where you were, and almost posted something yesterday, but you mentioned some bad/sad things happening in your life a few weeks ago, so I thought maybe it was related to that. IP: Logged |

had no idea. like teasel, i thought your absence might have been because of other reasons. Northerners are the toughest people out there. You will pull through. Hoping it melts quick and flowers begin to bloom soon... IP: Logged |

Just nasty weather. Thunderbird is still holding his own. We lost all his homemade food, bisquets and insulin (all our food too) during the outage but he survived. It was sad but kind of funny; he waded into the heavy wet snow up to his shoulders. He needed to do his duty and couldn`t figure out "how" to squat and poop. The look one his face was comical He finally decided need beat doing it proper and he completed the task at hand. When the snow melts, I have a LOT of poop to clear and move. Thank you ladies for your warm thoughts ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |
