I am literally 1-2 minutes away (at the most) from Charles Manson and Scott Pederson who are sitting on death row in the State of California.

I have a perfect view of Mount Tamalpais and sometimes the fog creeps over the top of it.

With a hop and a skip I can take a "boat" to San Francisco.

It is almost always cool and windy here in this particular location.

There are businesses, restaurants, and a few shops here.

Guess?

I would say Larkspur Landing too...I grew up in the Bay Area, on the Peninsula and moved here 8 years ago.

NO WAY!!!!!!!! You go to that Vet?! Holy *&%$! I work in the white 2 story bldg that looks kind of like a house right across!!!! I didn't know you live in Marin!!!

Yes LL is correct but now they are changing the name to "Marin Country Mart" which everyone thinks is so ridiculous..........No Way does LL look like "country"

Really? They moved Manson? I didn't know.......when the Scott Pederson thing first happened I would always shudder thinking he lives literally minutes from me......and now I work literally 1-2 mins. from him.

Funny you guys mentioned Portland.....my office is getting closed and the Portland offices are taking over.

You know what I absolutely HATE? I have to dress for winter just to go to work at LL, which is about 12 mins. from my house........I get home and it is 80 degrees and I can wear shorts + t-shirt + bathing suit and go swimming after work!!!! It is August and I am even using my heater at work in the a.m.'s!!! I hate LL it is always soooo cold and windy. Brrrr.

Nephthys, on the Peninsula. I was born/grew up in Woodside, married and lived first in Menlo Park, then Sunnyvale, and Mountain View most recently.

I've considered moving back, miss it all very much.

Some of my favorite sights, even when I still lived there, are driving across the Bay Bridge from the Oakland side towards SF...are seeing the City, day or night. It's beautiful. Also, parking on Treasure Island at night facing the city lights. It's beautiful. The people who live in the Oakland Hills are lucky too when the sun is setting behind the Golden Gate Bridge, the view is amazing (also some of the most expensive real estate in the area because of it lol).

I am more of a North Marin / Sonoma person myself. I am not a city person and I prefer the country........I like warm weather.....not cold. Central and South Marin are too cold and windy for me.

I hardly ever go to the city, maybe 1x per year.......

Can you believe, I have lived here my entire life, and never been to Alcatraz?!

me neither! and no desire to either. as to southern marin, i used to work at the alta mira in sausalito...on a clear night the terrace garden there is one of the top ten places in the world to hang. in the daytime the dining deck has a worldclass view too. it was so easy working there with the blissed-out customers and the view to enjoy yourself too...

but i also prefer places north for living. and west! the first place in marin i ever visited was bolinas, and the second a houseboat in sausalito (apart from the alta where my parents took me for dinner on the deck when i was a teen)..

On a clear day, you can see Robin Williams jogging down the main street in Sausalito

(my friend took a picture of him doing that once) LOL

A good friend used to work at Silicon Graphics/SGI when it was still around, did some work for George Lucas was invited to Skywalker Ranch for some events...he's always getting invited to these things lol

I love both the city and country...one things that was nice about living down on the Peninsula is you have rural along the foothills and urban not too far away.
