Just wanted to give you all the heads up, why I've been not around much:

Morning everyone. I have a Doctor appt this morning to find out why I'm having blood along with when I poo.

99% of the possibilities are awful. Lovely things like colon cancer etc...

Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers that it's something like hemorrhoids.

I feel wierd posting about my function here, however, support makes a huge difference in your outlook.

Try not to worry. It's probably that 1% thing.
I've had this on and off at different times in my life, it turned out to be nothing and it went away by itself.

But I'll keep my fingers crossed anyway.

Bright red is usually hemorroids.

one was darker.

I've been trying to keep calm, and not worry about it, because i know that makes a difference too.

They've said I'll probably have to have a colonoscopy.

I'll give you all the extremely shortened version:

Kevin diagnosed in nov 2007 with non hodgkins lymphoma on his spine, they caught it just before it finished eating away his vertebrae. I'm 2 mo. pregnant with 4th child. 5 week of radiation. We lost our home to black toxic mold. in feb 2008 one week in hospital with pneumonia, in mar 2008 one week in hospital with blood clots in both lungs, after which his largest client drops him. obtains interview with IA State, for Apr. 16 2008. On Apr. 14th collapses at home on floor in front of children. I call 911 he is rushed to ICU. Dr. says if we don't start chemo, he'll be dead within days. Spends next 8 mo. in hospital fighting for his life, almost dying 5 times. one of which involves a colonoscopy and emergency surgery. Finally comes home oct 30 2008. spends next year recovering. starts new job with the USDA on Sept 14 2009 (his birthday) been clean since.

Ab I think you are OK. I do. I DON'T have a bad feeling.
If it is something--it will not be big or bad.
Come back and write when you get back.

I have free cell, if you ever want to call, too.

x o x Ami

PS My Goodness----You have survived so much. I can get very egocentric and think I had it the worst.
I feel ashamed when I hear your story.
I have you in my thoughts and will do so until I hear back from you!

That is always a scary thing.
Bright red is usually not anything too bad, and if darker it can be coming from a benign polyp farther up.
Endometriosis can also cause it.
I wish you to have the best of good luck getting the colonoscopy and other tests.
I hope you have good insurance.
It is scary...I know this too well.
I have such bleeding, like losing a cup of blood at one sitting...sometimes dark sometimes bright...without feces, just lots of blood...
despite the disabling pain and it getting more frequent...
my insurance continues fighting approving of tests because I only bleed profusely a few to several times a month, not every day...and has been going on and off for years and has not killed me....so they just keep rejecting the pre certification I need for them to cover the tests.

Again. I wish you good luck and am very happy Kevin is fine now too!
You certainly do not need any more bad luck.

back from the doctor. She wants to run some fasting bloodwork, and also I get to paint with ummm my bowels output and put in on a special card and mail it to the lab.

Then after the results are back, she wants to do a complete physical.

I don't feel a big ,bad thing. I have never been wrong.
It could be something minor.
I am, basically, a medical intuitive.

(((ABS)))

Lots of support here. Please keep us updated. You will be in our thoughts

I agree Ami..
Seems whenever you think you have it bad, someone out there has it 10 times worse.
I tell myself this whenever I think I have it bad.

Abs and LEXX..
Hang in there both of you and (((HUGS)))

Thank you.

ABS, it is probably something benign.
Many women who have given birth many times have such a scare, but most often it is nothing terrible.
If you are not in pain, nor coughing up blood or anything, nor bleeding a lot or every day...please do try not to worry.
Wait for the tests to come back.

Thanks you guys. I'm feeling lots better knowing that people are thinking of me. LIke I said before, support is so important when facing some icky thing.

I forgot to tell you was the dr knew who I was, due to the story of our family being in the hospital monthly magazine. That makes me feel SO much better, because I know that she's going to look at my stuff with a fine tooth comb. She felt that the poo card, which I requested because I'd read it was an option on the internet, was a conservative first step. Since I'm still occasionally breastfeeding I really didn't want to jump right into the colonoscopy route.

Cancer sucks so much. I hate it. F#CK CANCER and all that rot.

ABS, a colonoscopy should only affect breast feeding for a day. Simply pump a few bottles of breast milk before doing the Colyte flush.
And enough to tide you over until any drugs wear out of your system if you are sedated.

Ami Ann Your kindness is very appreciated.

And ABS, I did not mean to go on about my "bleeding" issues, but wanted you to know that I totally understand how it feels and how scary too it can be.

Thanks LEXX.

I appreciate your position of having experience with this sort of thing.

That's kinda what the dr. said too.

Thanks so much to each of you for thinking good thought my way today. I appreciate it greatly, and it means a lot to me.

This is why people keep coming here. For the support that we give each other.

Hugs,

wierd day.

I had someone spam me a message on FB due to my status, wanting to know more about my "condition"! I figured he was a troll, because he listed one of his hobbies as "farting". Wierdos out there I tell you, there's lots of wierd people out there.

Then around 2 PM I had some guy stop by, and tell me he was from UPS and wanting to know if I had a package delivered today, and flashed a badge at me, and I told him I had diapers delivered. Then after an hour had gone by, I realized that I have packages delivered lots, and have never had that happened before. So when I called the local ups store and asked if the managers ever do that, they told me to call the police.
